Being immature and rubbing it in the faces of disappointed people doesn't help. We're allowed to be unhappy or disappointed about something. If people expected Skull Kid and Isaac, of course they'd be disappointed that they didn't get them.

Well, it looks like I was right. Granted, her moveset's not 100% unique, but certainly fits her character. The balloon move seems like it'll work differently from Villager's version, and the new fishing pole move's interesting. I can't help but think the "give her a break" part might have been a slight cheeky nod to how Sakurai tends to overwork himself on Smash (although, is that option in the AC series? Someone please correct me, if so). Overall, not my biggest want, but I'm glad she's finally out of the way.

Also, to those who expected excitement in an Animal Crossing-related Smash trailer...

After three consecutive reveal trailers of characters getting murdered/mauled, don't you think we needed a little break from that for now? Something breezier like in the Smash 4 days is something I think was needed to get people to relax before the next big Smash reveals next month (presumably). Especially after the earthquake Japan recently had.

I have a somewhat ominous prediction about Isabelle.

I believe that Isabelle will get in as a unique newcomer. She will be unique not because she lacks the qualities to become an echo (close enough proportions, Villager move set could work with her), but because she is an extremely popular, promoted, and marketable character with enough moveset potential to warrant a unique move set.

What I find ominous about my prediction is that I feel that Isabelle will become the go to character to complain about. “Why did Isabelle have to take a unique move set slot, she could have been an echo and *insert popular character here* could have gotten in instead”

At the end of the day, I’d be ecstatic if Isabelle is unique or an echo, but I’m already prepping myself for potential backlash if she’s unique.

Perhaps it’s a bit greedy but I’m hoping for a new Animal Crossing and I feel now would be a good time to announce it. Since paid online is most likely is going be a focus for this direct, I feel AC is franchise that could utilize online connectivity. After going over the attributes of paid online, and current games that will use it, they could also talk about it being planned with future releases, such as Smash and Animal Crossing. I think they could end the direct with an announcement for a switch AC game with a 2019 release and an Isabelle smash reveal.

Semi-clone is pretty rough terminology. She seems to share what, 3 moves with Villager? It makes sense... they are from the same series after all.

She really only has Pocket and her Grab.
Down B has a similar animation but works completely different. Up-B is also different. Side B(Fishing Pole) is completely unique.
All of her normals we've seen are completely unique too.
It's as silly as calling Lucario a Mewtwo semi clone or Ike a Marth semi clone.

Well this just makes the reveal for the next character even longer.

I mean, it would have been the same result regardless of any character.
I'm sure even if Skull Kid or whoever was revealed, it'd be talked about for a week and then people would be back at where they were. Like after the 8.8 direct, people were mad that we were back under a drought after receiving a ****load of information.

As for Isabelle...I really, really do not like AC. But putting that bias aside...

That trailer was bad.

Slow, dragged on, no cinematic visuals like Ridley/Rool/Simon, no explanation on her in depth, no interactions with other characters like everyone else that makes it feel like actual smash...not even the smash transition logo in the beginning to hype you up. It just throws her on screen and you know it was her as soon as you saw "not actual gameplay footage".

I couldn't get hyped for her.

My one and biggest wish has been fulfilled. I am now wholly satisfied with this game. I look forward to seeing what comes later, but with my dream having come true, I'm neutral to almost any possible inclusion. I am very, very happy at this moment.

That's why he hasn't been wrong about anything regarding this game, now has he?

I don't think he's been right about any of the games he's spoken off. He always gets something wrong. Only one I can think of is TMNT in Injustice but thats because he stopped there. Even in SC6, some of his early stuff was good but it went down the tube fast. That's why I don't put much faith in it. Maybe he gets lucky or maybe he has some information but keeps adding for attention. Either way, he usually gets stuff wrong. I think Isabelle was the earliest thing he said outside of Minecraft.

Given the fact that we got Isabelle next, I expect it will continue the same trend as other Smash games. The rest will be smaller names. Thinking Xenoblade and Rhythm Heaven will happen as they seem to fit the bill. Time will tell though.
