Blunt force trauma isn't something Toony characters die from at all. If anything, they're highly resistant to it.

Some one has probably mentioned this but I noticed it and wanted to bring it up. In the giant scrolling art on the smash bros website, what seems to be the only npc related character in the picture is Mr. Saturn. Now I'm not saying that Mr. Saturn will be confirmed as a fighter, but what do you all think of the possibility that Mr. Saturn is place holding for another earthbound character. My bets are on ninten as an echo fighter.

Nah, they just like Mr. Saturn a lot. He was also on that first hand drawn illustration that teased Smash 4 while Ness was absent.

Even though King K. Rool knocked out Dedede, that doesn't necessarily mean that he perished. Dedede could be like the Looney Tunes characters (such as Wile E. Coyote and Yosemite Sam), where he can survive just about anything, no matter how deadly.

Worst case scenario would be being punted to the moon ala Rayman Legends, if anything.

Regardless, it's still an instance of someone being defeated to show how tough the new guy is. What the question should actually be is "who will get beaten up next?".

Eeeeeh... she's trying to impresionate a young boy though, much like Luffy's voice actor. I know Goku isn't young anymore, neither is Bardock, but they just went with it by how recognizable it was (and fits the theme of Goku never really growing up)

Nozawa has always been Goku. Whether you like it or not, she's been Goku longer than anyone else. It's fine if you don't prefer her, but as I've watched more DB subbed I've seriously grown to appreciate her. I don't mind if people don't prefer her but just keep that preference respectful.

I love how we're all just assuming someone has to die a brutal death in every trailer. Like, we have no confirmation that Dedede is actually dead, but we're assuming he is just so that we can stick with a theme.

I mean Dedede could've had brain surgeries from K. Rool's claw slapping in the back of his head. Must've been really painful. He might not make it.

You guys see this? EventHubs is reporting a rumor that Smash Blogs updates are doing some weird number things lately, and we've skipped a lot of numbers. Right in the middle of the blog updates that would have gone live during the Direct, Toon Link was set to have a character update. It gives some evidence of a Zelda update, which I think is something to be excited about. With Toon Link popping up in the middle of the updates, Tetra's chances also probably bumped up a lot more. Exciteds!

Keen-eyed fans have noticed that each blog update is numbered within the code. Thursday's update — Pokémon: Alolan Exeggutor — is blog update number 133. Meanwhile, Bowser is apparently labeled as the 142nd update. Finally, Toon Link's update is blog update 138 (while his memory in the Japanese version of the site is 139).

This means that updates 134, 135, 136, 137, 140, and 141 were outright skipped. Outside of this, blog updates 120 and 121 are the only other numbered entries that were skipped previously.

I think it just confirms what we already know. The Direct will have a newcomer. Anyone who was paying attention would know this already. So that probably means a new franchise will be represented. My guesses are Rhythm Heaven and Golden Sun.

I missed the discussion on Smash reactors, but one I find pretty good is MissClickGaming. Her reactions to Smash Ultimate stuff, as well as Starlink and Breath of the Wild are really good. You can tell she's genuinely excited.

Getting back on topic... well there doesn't seem to be much of a topic sans Goku right now. I wager that the Direct will be on the 13th, and we'll get more than one character. The strange happenings with the blog seem to point to more than one reveal, anyway.

Going just off the 'expected' characters, how will everyone react to these guys if they're revealed when the Direct drops?

Skull Kid - I'd be extremely happy to see him in. While he isn't necessarily a character I'm campaigning for, Majora's Mask is one of my favorite Zelda titles and I'd be happy to see him as a new unique character for the Zelda franchise.
Isaac - Pretty apathetic if I'm being honest, I would be happy for all his fans who've wanted him. If he has an interesting moveset I'm all the more for him, but I don't really care to be honest.
Incineroar - I mean given Greninja was my favorite starter from Kalos, and I didn't really get too hyped when I saw him, I doubt he'd do anything for me. Just don't really want him, but I wouldn't mind if he got in.
Isabelle - As a unique fighter, I'd actually be interested to see what she could pull in given she'd probably have a widely different moveset. As an Echo, I'd just want to see what the different properties are and move on.

Here's something fun. Think which character/s might get the chopping block of death in the newcomer trailers?

The only reason people even assumed that it was Isaac was due to the direct being delayed due to the quake, which is a dumb reasoning. So no Isaac isn't a hard call.
