The big factor is, we don't know who'll be in.

You have fan requested characters such as Geno, Isaac, Bandana Dee, Skull Kid, Banjo-Kazooie, etc.

But the fact is, none of them can be considered guarantees. It happened with characters who many people thought were gonna be in like Ashley, Krystal, and even Shovel Knight, and look where they're at now. This could apply to characters that were in the ballot. Maybe Isaac & Bandana Dee for example, would get the assist trophy treatment. Who knows.

I'll keep my expectations low.

Don't get me wrong, I'd absolutely love Skull Kid to be in, but Loz has gone above and beyond to basically beat into our Skulls "IT'S SKULL KID"

Well, it's a personal assessment. Like how screamo rock is grating to listen to, so I don't listen to it. But that assessment isn't meant to detract from the artist who made it or others' enjoyment of it. I personally just don't like listening to it.

Regardless, I didn't comment on Nozawa's work to be negative about it. I just countered Lucario being voiced by a guy and therefore being assumed male with Goku being voiced by a woman.

So we've got a rumor for a direct for the 13th. The site is in English, so its probably Western 13th; Japan 14th...which means we're back to a Thursday direct again. Hopefully we'll get some kind of announcement either later today or tomorrow. If it was an exact week later, chances are the announcement will mirror the same time as the first.

I kinda wish other systems or genres could do their own version of Smash Brothers without totally crapping the bed like Sony did. I bought PASBR hoping it would be good, but that stupid battle system where a Special was the only way to get e KO was ridiculously stupid. I use to juggle and beat the ever loving garbage out of people with Heihachi, but if you whiff on a special, you had to build up the meter all over again! It sucked! What a waste of potential....

Jump has a good thing going with their whole anime-themed fighter too, but the mechanics just seem wonky to other fights. I understand wanting it to be more of an arena fighter, but couldn't you mimic another long running, popular fighter you have? Like Ninja Storm, if you're not going to to a Smash style battle?

Well...rant aside...let's play a game. Create a new Smash Brothers-inspired Game with the following rules:
*20 Characters Max
*Smash Brothers Battle Style
*Summoning Optional (Pokeball/Assist Trophies)
*Themes can be: Sony, Microsoft, Sega, Anime, Specific Game series (like Final Fantasy, Wild Arms, or Tales Of...), Comics, or Movies (Non-Superhero)
*A max of 3 'Guest' characters outside your chosen Theme allowed

Just to throw out a quick idea/example, here's a Final Fantasy themed one

That's how I feel. Now feels like the best time to reveal a Pokemon newcomer. It may be just me but I don't think a Pokemon newcomer reveal in a final Smash direct really hits the mark. A Pokemon here just feels natural. If not here Idk where else.

He hasn't said anything recently, the last thing I heard from him is that he's trying to dig information without luck so far and that he said the Gen 7 mon is not Decidueye/Mimikyu/Lyncaroc.

Also I like that Lip and Shantae are in the final picture! Makes me proud, because whoever was trying to finish it, he or she knew that there were still Lip/Shantae fans. The latter I did expect slightly, but the former not. Panel de Pon seems a bit obscure now.

So in theory, of course he wouldn't know why Vergeben has said characters like "Isabelle, Ken, Incineroar", if he hasn't actually worked on any documents that involve them yet. If they're to be shown in the final direct, then up til now, he probably wouldn't have ever known about them being in the game.


This would explain why he'd supposedly know about K.Rool and Skull Kid soo early on, due to working on their scripts, and why he's soo adamant about no Isaac.

Because, shocking but, some people just want to know the whole roster sooner than later.


Even though **** like Gematsu or the ESRB leak are 'boring' to a lot of people, there's an equal amount of people who want the speculation scene to just be done and over with.

That doesn't deal with anything I was talking about.
I get that's why people follow leaks, they want to know what they're getting themselves into in advance. Same reason why I'm here on these boards.

That's not my point.
Don't fall for whatever "leaker" that says a wanted character is in without any basis, evidence, or credibility to back it up.
Like I want a Rhythm Heaven character in Smash, but I didn't believe any of the leaks that included the Chorus Kids or Karate Joe just because it had them.
I took an objective eye to them, and if you look early in the thread, tried to break them down to see if they were real and had any inconsistencies.

Also, I'm not talking if **** like a certain character is boring to some people. Like back during Smash 4, people thought Pac-Man and a X and Y Pokémon were boring because they were frequently mentioned.
I'm saying that claims thrown about and around by leakers may not always be true, and I feel that this is extremely evident with this game given Nintendo's attitude towards leaks this time around.
Keep claims in mind and take them with a grain of salt unless they have actual proof or evidence of them through irrefutable screenshots or video like the ESRB leak.
Just don't full-heartedly believe them.
