They really should have shown Ridley last. Its been months and I still can't believe it. I had given up on him.
Its a Japanese gaming crossover pretty much.
So people should not watch a giant monster crossover and complain about the overabundance of giant reptiles! Or play a horror fighting game and complain about too many knives or jumpscares!

I meant more like how the people who were anticipating a newcomer have high expectations especially now that the direct got delayed.
Guess that leaves more room for some salt.

Why are people underestimating this guy lately? Bandana Dee is extremely popular as well, and he was definitely more popular than Skull Kid during the ballot. Don't see why people should get upset over his inclusion other than just not liking him as a character.

They think that Bandana Dee is just a generic Kirby enemy. They obviously haven't played Kirby games.
I know it is merely just a rumor, but IMO how can you call that rumor if NL predicted correctly the date of Nindies and original Direct dates? It was predicted correctly hours before the announcement, if not up to a day.

I'm still banking on this Direct coming out tomorrow. The tweet that Dengeki's Nintendo division said "9/13", and when you look at Directs that aired in Japan, it would usually are the on 7 A.M. their time, which, if someone lives here in the U.S. in PST, that'd be 3 P.M. tomorrow.
Who knows! I just can't wait for another Smash newcomer to be revealed so we can cross them off the list.

I got Simon, Richter, K. Rool as well as Pokemon Trainer and Young Link back. I'm fine with whatever we get for the rest of this game. Bring on the Bandanna Dee or any other character I don't necessarily want.

I know Right? He's also really popular in Japan. King K.Rool and Ridely seem to have been chosen because of their western demand. I think it's time for Japan to get a Little slice of the pie. Besides, he has a spear. No character in Smash yet uses a spear as their main weapon.

Ridley perhaps, but K Rool was massive in Japan as well. He was pretty much a global favourite.
This is off Nintendo Life, not 4chan. Give me a reason to doubt them.

Nah mate, King K. Rool has practically been the most requested newcomer to get into Smash for a long time now. You wouldn't BELIEVE how much of an impact Donkey Kong Country 2 had on Japan. Japan pretty much has a lot of newcomers that we come to know and love too, like Crash, Geno, Banjo-Kazooie - I think after Cloud, and soon enough Rex & Pyra, I don't know what else Japan would want aside from like...

It's not an official source. Even though they've got things right in the past, the fact that they are not Nintendo should mean you have at least some level of doubt.

Right now I just want more obscure Nintendo characters or ones from series that aren't represented yet. This gives them a chance at another shot, a chance of getting revived.
Golden Sun, Advance Wars, Custom Robo, Mach Rider, Mole Mania, Drill Dozer, Sin and Punishment, etc.
It doesn't always work. Punch-Out! did not receive a new game, same for Duck Hunt and Ice Climbers (I love the idea of Sakurai fleshing out the Ice Climbers universe).
But it worked for Fire Emblem and Kid Icarus. Fire Emblem got ported to the US and is now a much larger franchise. Kid Icarus Uprising happened and is a great game. Heck I bet you Ness and Lucas's inclusion in Smash helped with bringing Mother 1 over as well as EarthBound to the VC.
Who knows, maybe Smash helped Metroid and Star Fox recently get revived too.
Its also why I want a new F-Zero character. Every little bit helps!

Not anything concrete but how's the newcomers' fan demand based on region until now? It seems something like,
Mainly west: Ridley, Dark Samus
Often western: Simon
Everywhere: King K.Rool, Daisy
Often Japan: Inklings (?), Chrom
Mainly Japan: Richter(?)
Any ideas?

Directs are usually announced at 10AM EST on the day before they’re supposed to air.
This seems to indicate there won’t be a direct tomorrow.
Although they might just be announcing it at a weird time, due to the unconventional circumstances.

I feel like Bandana Dee is quite famous just among Kirby fans, but not as a whole.
Is similar as a Zelda fan (like myself) try to justificate the importance of a champion in the roster. It looks pretty important and recent for Zelda comunity, but not really for everybody.
Regarding Bandana Dee position in the ballot in comparision with skull kid, its related to the nature of Character creation in Zelda. If you are a huge Kirby fan, you mostly likely will vote for Bandana Dee, but for Zelda fans, the "next character" is Dilluted, we have Tingle, Skull Kid, Midna, Girahim... The importance of these characters is dilluted in the franchise, the same dosen't happen with Bandana Dee, which is for sure the 4th most important character in Kirby series.
But I do think Bandana Dee got the odds to enter in Smash, I just dont think he is THAT important.
TBH, I believe we dont have super important First Party characters out os smash right now.

There's a low chance, but still a chance, that it gets announced at some point later tonight (Past September 11 6PM ESR, 7AM JST September 12) through tomorrow Morning (September 12 10:00AM EST, September 12 11PM JST) for a direct to be shown maybe 8 hours from then (September 12 6:00PM EST, September 13th 7AM JST)
With some wiggle room, it's not totally unjustified to expect that we will still have the direct tomorrow.
Unlikely, but not off the table. I'd still put some money on it.
