Here's my problem with that;

I think even the echoes are characters with notable followings. Daisy, Chrom, Dark Samus? They're still pretty popular.

I don't think Gothitelle is even "important" enough for that.

There's also the fact that Gardevoir and Gothitelle would supposedly get in to help give every Generation a Pokémon fighter....

...yet almost every "leak" that has the two forget about one from the newest Generation.....

Not what I'm basing there being a Thursday direct though. A Thursday direct is standard and it's been right time for a direct anyway. That fake leak is just banking on there being one Thursday.

That is of course assuming that an echo can preserve the gameplay of 's mons without preserving his.

For a character to be a workable Echo they need to share roughly the same body build and proportions, not just be somewhat similar characters, your suggestions aren't workable.

The game could release tomorrow and I'd be totally happy. I'd love another Pokemon reveal and the inclusion of a new Zelda Rep, but I'd shrug and just accept it if it didn't happen.

The reveal of two totally unexpected ones, though; I would love to see the firestorm on each forum resulting from that. We may be able to actually hear the 'KaBOOM' from Gamefaqs literally imploding from here.

Whats funny is that the Dante leak still has more validity to it than like 90% of the leaks we see come through here.

If I recall correctly, the guy hasn't gotten anything wrong about DMCV.

The main thing going against it is that Capcom themselves said Dante wasn't in Smash.

...but apparently, from what I've heard, their typical PR practice is to deny everything, even if it's actually true....

It is sad though. We got literally the biggest present from Ultimate in terms of no cuts and only having to the pleasure to all about new characters so far. We should be more than happy.

Instead, entitlement and bandwagoning on the internet has caused people to act like this due to the potential of the Ballot. It will happen, as it happened before with others. No matter who gets in, a group of people will be mad at that fact.

Shower thought: what if Heihachi was indeed planned for Ultimate, but because they couldn’t record lines before the VO passed away, they decided that we’ll be getting KOS-MOS instead?

And yes I’m aware that they could just reuse voice clips for Heihachi, but they’d probably want trailer only spoken dialogue for him like with Ryu. And recasting is too soon for Heihachi imo

Something like that would never happen. It would be pretty much waste of time if they just scrapped an entire character for something like this + its pretty likely that voice acting for the game is already done. Marth (both in japanese and english), Ike, Fox and (i think) Sheik all have new voice Clips. If Heihachi is in the game then Unshou Ishizuka (may he rest in peace) would already have done voice work for it (especially if you consider that he just died last month.) And i highly doubt that they already have a new voice actor for him out of respect for Ishizuka. You can do recasting quickly if its just a side character, but with a character like Heihachi Mishima? I dont think so.

One thing can be certain: Sakurai has been going for very logical picks so far. Not safe per say, but picks that people really like. Picks that people have wanted for years or that make you go "oh wow, that IS a good pick!" after their reveals. It's very clear that all 4 newcomers are very satisfying to "most" people (and I say most very carefully).

This is why I feel like the remaining will be logical, in terms of making as much of the fan base as happy as possible. No, he can't avoid disappointing some people (Ashley and Waluigi fans), but he can try and satisfy as many as he can.

Maybe its naive, but I honestly have more faith in people than that. I don't think it's a sense of entitlement; they just want some more niche characters to make it in. The truth is, people will buy this game whether it has all the characters in here or not. They're just holding on to one last hope that one they like will make it in; they're getting it anyway. Nobody here denies that and those that do are lying; plain and simple lol.
