I mean, disappointment has already happened...My gut will tell me people will be disappointed
The genre may have began with the typical arcade style but by this definition, any game where you fight 1v1 against npcs in succession is a fighting game. You've incorrectly assumed that the two players are necessary. One player play is also an integral part of fighting games, and predates the two player aspect by a long shot.
I looked up Punch-out and it's literally listed as a Fighting game. You seem to think a game can't be more than one genre, for some reason.
Alright here’s a game.
Out of these possible newcomers:
-Geno
-Issac
-Isabelle
-Bandana Dee
-Shadow
-Rayman
-Banjo
-Incinaroar
Who do you think you’ll end up maining regardless if you supported them or not?
Not saying he's some sort of PlayStation exclusive.But not SF, SF2, SSF2, SSF2T, SSF2tNC, SS2TE, SSF2HF, USF2, SFA, SFA2, SFA3, SF3, SF3:2I, SF3:3S, SF4, SSF4, SSF4AE, USF4, SFEX, SFEX2, SFEX3, MvC, MvC2, MvC3, UMvC3, MvCI, CvSNK, CvSNK2, SFxTK, X-Men vs SF, Marvel vs SF, or Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.
Just to name a few.
By that logic, ****ing everything is a fighting game. You broaden your definition so much it doesn't mean anything anymore. It's about reading tells and pushing buttons in the desired sequence to knock down an opponent. I fail to see how that aspect makes it any more of a puzzle game than other fighting games
yeah but that's ignoring the possibility that skull kid is just one phase of the fight before majora and it's various forms takes over. It would certainly be different for a smash boss at the very least.Smash bosses have always been huge, Skull Kid wouldn't make any sense as a boss unless he's in the same vein as Bowser in Subspace, in which he's more of a "CHALLENGER APPROACHING"
Leaky isn't even credible; they guessed the March direct's date right but also said "Luigi's Mansion DLC for Odyssey"
Bandana Dee and Isabelle for sure. Maaaaaybe Shadow, but I'd probably only play him as a just for fun character. The rest are characters I'd mess around with like I do all Smash characters, but are probably characters I wouldn't really feel motivated to "git gud" with unless their moveset just really clicked with me.Alright here’s a game.

Which they are.By that logic, ****ing everything is a fighting game. You broaden your definition so much it doesn't mean anything anymore.
It's like calling Dark Souls a rhthym game or Dance Dance Revolution an action RPG.
I guess, but you also never fight Skull Kid himself in the original game, so it'd make no sense unless he's also playable. And Skull Kid would be annoying to hit, assuming they wouldn't make his phase ridiculously easy.yeah but that's ignoring the possibility that skull kid is just one phase of the fight before majora and it's various forms takes over. It would certainly be different for a smash boss at the very least.
YeahI mean, disappointment has already happened...
And it will continue to happen.
Persona is my favourite Dating Sim.By that logic, ****ing everything is a fighting game. You broaden your definition so much it doesn't mean anything anymore.

Or Smash a fighting gameBy that logic, ****ing everything is a fighting game. You broaden your definition so much it doesn't mean anything anymore.

Probably just Bandana Dee since he is so adorable. The rest doesn't really say nothing to me so far, but the same could be said about Ridley and now I want to try it so...Alright here’s a game.

I want it to happen too bud but I’ve already been let down twice
Ryu is in, literally undisputedly a fighting game.Or Smash a fighting game
AP HE SAID IT, HERE WE GO AGAINOr Smash a fighting game
Yeah. It’s like calling all music the same just because it’s all essentially sounds arranged in patterns.By that logic, ****ing everything is a fighting game. You broaden your definition so much it doesn't mean anything anymore.
It's like calling Dark Souls a rhthym game or Dance Dance Revolution an action RPG.
we will always see hints where we want them to be. Is like we Isaac fans and the Rathalos pic
I still don't understand how the character selection process worked for that game. They seemed to be missing a lot of "Playstation All-Stars" while putting in Big Daddy, Isaac Clarke and Dante. Not saying he's some sort of PlayStation exclusive.
I'm just saying it's sadistically funny that they essentially commissioned SFV when they couldn't even get Ryu in their own crossover fighting game.
Okay, but to be fair, that one kinda is true.Persona is my favourite Dating Sim.
(No, I've not ever played Persona or SMT, I just said this for the sake of a joke.)
I've expressed a similar opinion in the past, that Skull Kid as a boss wouldn't be very fun to face specifically because it would most likely be a pain to even hit the guy. Every boss is big to allow easy hits on them, with Skull Kid most likely both flying and being very small it would be a nightmare. They'd have to make him stop after casting spells or something.Smash bosses have always been huge, Skull Kid wouldn't make any sense as a boss unless he's in the same vein as Bowser in Subspace, in which he's more of a "CHALLENGER APPROACHING"
Leaky isn't even credible; they guessed the March direct's date right but also said "Luigi's Mansion DLC for Odyssey"
Dee and Rayman are two of my most wanted, so I'd definitely have to play them a lot. I don't want to claim I'd main anyone though because I don't know how they'd translate to smash.Alright here’s a game.

Or Gothitelle worth a damn.Or Smash a fighting game
Despite really disliking his visual design, I think Incineroar has the potential for a really fun grappler move set. I hope he plays somewhat like Beowulf from Skullgirls who can move and jump while grabbing an opponent.Alright here’s a game.

"Everyday is a new adventure".
Kind of like how saying that Punch Out!! is a puzzle game because you have to notice fighting patterns?By that logic, ****ing everything is a fighting game. You broaden your definition so much it doesn't mean anything anymore.
It's like calling Dark Souls a rhthym game or Dance Dance Revolution an action RPG.

Come on, this one's blatantly obvious and it hasn't been deconfirmed yetwe will always see hints where we want them to be. Is like we Isaac fans and the Rathalos pic
That's a lot of ifs. Are you saying we're going to get another Fire Emblem If (Fates) character?
Btw, there was a Pokemon in that "leak" named gillybl...aka gullible.
It's literally fake.
And how do you know we won't be getting a new Pokémon whose name is a pun on gullible?ooooh I didnt get that. Such a shame, I really loved the idea of Isaac using all four types of djinn
I'm sorry that Gothitelle got in. My dad may be Nintendo, but he's not Game Freak, so I can't get him to take her out. It's out of my hands now.Or Gothitelle worth a damn.
F-Zero is my favorite dating sim.Persona is my favourite Dating Sim.
(No, I've not ever played Persona or SMT, I just said this for the sake of a joke.)
I mean, Ryu is in a lot of things.Ryu is in, literally undisputedly a fighting game.
Was Bayonetta really a Playstation All-Star though?I swear to god if a NINTENDO CROSSOVER FIGHTER somehow gets Snake, Cloud, the real Dante, Bayonetta, and Ryu first...
@Playstation All-Stars
But we have to fill the quota and invite Camilla in! Don't you want the prophecy to be fulfilled?!
I want another Fire Emblem character. But not that.
Not. That.
RISKY BOOTS’S SHIP STAGE CONFIRMEDCome on, this one's blatantly obvious and it hasn't been deconfirmed yet

Gardevoir supporters are just upset they got it backwards and she is actually a Gothitelle echo.I'm sorry that Gothitelle got in. My dad may be Nintendo, but he's not Game Freak, so I can't get him to take her out. It's out of my hands now.
It's just the setting of punch-out, man. The gameplay of punch-out is way too different to be a fighting game.Kind of like how saying that Punch Out!! is a puzzle game because you have to notice fighting patterns?
The entire thing is framed around a recognized, real-world fighting style, and involves facing opponents one after the other in an effort to win a title. That sounds like a fighting game to me.
It's also worth noting I have no dog in this fight, I'm just doing a little bit of devil's advocate
Neither has thisCome on, this one's blatantly obvious and it hasn't been deconfirmed yet
Persona is a series of Edutainment Games.Okay, but to be fair, that one kinda is true.
It's a very basic dating sim, mixed with a slice of life simulator, mixed with a dungeon crawler. That's probably why a lot of people like it now that I mention it.
