I trust verge and the Minecraft stage leak, which would mean being in talks with Microsoft. Bk almost certainly did amazing on the ballot, he even received support from Phil spencer during just the right time, the two big heavy hitters have been shown mad quick with Ridley and K. Rool, I expect he will have even bigger surprises in store as a result.Adventure had the fanservice.
SSE had the content and the cutscenes.
The problem with SSE is that there's barely any locations that are actually based on Nintendo games. You have generic plains, generic forest, generic jungle, generic canyon, etcetera etcetera. Now an Adventure mode where you explore Mushroom Kingdom, Hyrule, Bionis' Leg (even tho it makes no sense), and so on? **** yeah dude take my 60 buckaroos thats more than worth it.
I'm skeptical on Banjo. Hell, I'm skeptical on Microsoft in general. Unless I see a Minecraft or another screwup like with Bloody Tears, I don't know if I personally see a future in it that isn't just a dream.
I wonder what happened to that intern who made the accident.
I didn't much pay attention to the story, but I think Black Shadow could make an amazing character. Especially using Ganondorf's previous moveset, so basically an Echo of Ganondorf but using Falcon's animations. Basically what Chrom did.
I legitimately believe Black Shadow has more of a chance than Deathborn, notably because by the SSB4 trophy descriptions, they follow the GP Legend/Climax timeline. Zoda is described to be modified by Black Shadow, which is only true in that series (and the anime but the anime was created before the concept of the games and pretty much served the purpose of Roy in Melee).
They're also the same person in that series so win/win. I also want to hear Verde Coeden Scalesworth thoughts about it since I recall she knows a little bit about the subject as well.
Well Pit has already dealt with a cheating Link and Bayonetta...and joined Mario in the hunt for the dog/duck combo (and the only thing that seems to be close to killing him is being burnt alive and losing his wings)Considering that Sakurai is not above hurting characters he favors, I'm not sure even those two are safe.
Kunai arguably make more sense for Greninja to use than swords, but I'm wondering if this will affect the range of those moves in any meaningful way. The kunai seem way smaller, but they could be disjointed. Guess we'll have to wait and see. Nice touch, regardless.
Here is an actual kunai, for reference.
No, Shrek is going to get revealed next.geno seems to be the next character thats gonna be revealed
Honestly, he seems a bit like a lock-in now. We've already gotten almost every lock-in.geno seems to be the next character thats gonna be revealed
Would this hint towards a Monster Hunter character?I've been informed that the Rathalos area isn't just some generic level or MH-themed area, it's an actual specific area from MH4 - Ancestral Steppe - and now I'm having a real hard time imagining it'll be exclusive to whatever Spirits Mode is, should that even function like an Adventure Mode.
It seems increasingly obvious to me that we'll be pushing past 103.
It could possibly be another Bomberman or Rayman scenario. A nod, but nothing playable.Would this hint towards a Monster Hunter character?
I have a hard time thinking that we're getting a named stage from a third party series and not getting a character to go with it?
what does lock-in meanHonestly, he seems a bit like a lock-in now. We've already gotten almost every lock-in.
It was an opinion of his. Nothing more.Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I saw a post earlier this afternoon where Loz18 was saying he didn't believe Isabelle would be in the game. Has he given any info as to why he thinks that? I thought he said Vergeben was on the right track with her and Simon.
Tekken and Smash are two different games. Knowing Sakurai, it isn't gonna happenI bet Tekken players were saying the same thing.
Were.
Pretty cool to see Greninja throw out a kunai now! Makes me wonder how it's going to affect his range when he uses it
So it seems Greninja uses kunai made of water instead of katanas for smash attacks, presumably all. Can't say much for f-air though.
I'll give it two months to happen. I just want try out at least a minute of this game, so the wait hurts.Sakurai says this line around the 8:47 mark in the Direct:
"This time, we plan to reveal the design of every fighter before the game launches. We'll have a few more to announce later, so stay tuned."
Does this mean they'll get to ALL of the fighters that they left in the dark? God I hope so...
If we get ten more characters I will eat a sock.I have a little game for you all... imagine if we get 3 more smash directs in September, October, And November, and they each reveal 2 unique characters and 1-2 echo fighters. Who will they be?
Here's my example:
September:
Unique: Elma & Geno
Echo: Isabelle
October:
Unique: Nihilego & Heihachi
Echo: Ninten & Galatica Knight
November:
Unique: Chorus Kids & Ayumi Tachibana
Echo: Shadow
On the other hand, would they really show off the Rathos before showing off a Monster Hunter themself? Honestly, the monsters are the real stars of that game. I think a stage and boss is a more fitting way to represent that franchise then a character, especially since that boss is also getting special treatment as an assist trophy.Would this hint towards a Monster Hunter character?
I have a hard time thinking that we're getting a named stage from a third party series and not getting a character to go with it?
Well of course he will (makes it better for the remaining characters to not get the ESRB leak treatment)Sakurai says this line around the 8:47 mark in the Direct:
"This time, we plan to reveal the design of every fighter before the game launches. We'll have a few more to announce later, so stay tuned."
Does this mean they'll get to ALL of the fighters that they left in the dark? God I hope so...
I was talking about the 14 or so character (including my boi) that got snubbed at E3I'll give it two months to happen. I just want try out at least a minute of this game, so the wait hurts.
To be fair, Luigi's ghost was preparing to return to his body before he got scared by another Castlevania monster. No wait a minute. Mario and Mega Man died. We saw Luigi die and become a ghost, AKA a spirit.
Is this leading up to something?
Especially since after he said that, K. Rool was the only additional character following Simon and the Echoes withing the direct, so it's obvious there will be another one later on.Sakurai says this line around the 8:47 mark in the Direct:
"This time, we plan to reveal the design of every fighter before the game launches. We'll have a few more to announce later, so stay tuned."
Does this mean they'll get to ALL of the fighters that they left in the dark? God I hope so...
Oh. Well, the wait still hurts. Honestly, a lot of the characters I actually care about were unavailable in the playable demos (aside from Link, Sonic, Ike, Pit, Marth, Mega Man, and Corrin), and I like a lot of characters.I was talking about the 14 or so character (including my boi) that got snubbed at E3
I want it back because it's a weird, janky stage. I've had some dumb fun on that stage back in the day, and with new mechanics like 8-Player or Stage Morph, it could get even crazier. Why do people like Poke Floats and want it to come back, it's such a weird stage, and it plays terribly.
on the one hand, I feel like Greninja's final smash should've been Ash Greninja from the XYZ anime.Yeah, also Kunai are what anime Greninja used during the XYZ anime so that probably has something to do with it as well.
The Battle Bond form could always make a brief appearance during the Final Smash, but that's pretty much it.on the one hand, I feel like Greninja's final smash should've been Ash Greninja from the XYZ anime.
On the other hand, I don't want Ash anywhere near this game.
I'm still a little salty about Ash Greninja being in S&M. I don't mind the anime being referenced from time to time (I'm a Mewtwo player after all), but something about that thing just freaks me the heck out in a way that I don't like.on the one hand, I feel like Greninja's final smash should've been Ash Greninja from the XYZ anime.
On the other hand, I don't want Ash anywhere near this game.
I think that's the problem with it, Stage Morph would probably be a mega pain to implement with that mode. I feel like Pac-Maze got cut for the same reason.I want it back because it's a weird, janky stage. I've had some dumb fun on that stage back in the day, and with new mechanics like 8-Player or Stage Morph, it could get even crazier.
The weirdness is beautiful...and it plays perfectly for a weird Pokémon stageWhy do people like Poke Floats and want it to come back, it's such a weird stage, and it plays terribly.
Didn’t do his damn taxes, what did you expect? Be glad managed to keep him in the gameI was talking about the 14 or so character (including my boi) that got snubbed at E3
This also gets me thinking. How does a trainer not being Ash even get Ash-Greninja, looking at OR/AS in Pokémon? I don't really get why they would allow for this aside from thinking how cool getting such a Greninja is.on the one hand, I feel like Greninja's final smash should've been Ash Greninja from the XYZ anime.
On the other hand, I don't want Ash anywhere near this game.
I don't think we will. Smash continues to be increasingly liberal with its third-parties. Now we have multiple ones from the same series, items, third-party IPs solely as ATs, indie IPs... stands to reason we could get a stage without a character. Happens with Nintendo series.Would this hint towards a Monster Hunter character?
I have a hard time thinking that we're getting a named stage from a third party series and not getting a character to go with it?
I do recall that Sakurai teased people about Zero Suit Samus not returning in Smash 3DS / Wii U, and then revealed her soon after. But if 103 stages is the maximum, then I guess DLC stages might be out of the question.I'm honestly sure we are only getting 103 stages. He clearly states there are 103 stages (not 100+) in the game, and the site currently has all 103 listed.
Seeing as sakurai has no reason to blatantly lie, The monster hunter "stage" is probably from a boss battle exclusive area, a boss rush mode, or an adventure mode. It helps that the stage is completely flat, rathalos is shown only fighting one character, and the UI isnt even present at the bottom of the screen.
Again, that two second trolling is not a good example for these things.I do recall that Sakurai teased people about Zero Suit Samus not returning in Smash 3DS / Wii U, and then revealed her soon after. But if 103 stages is the maximum, then I guess DLC stages might be out of the question.
The only problem I have with that idea is that Rathalos functions almost exactly like a Subspace boss with those attacks. Like look at the fire bomb things, it covers practically the entire stage with small gaps for one character, and not to mention you only see a single character fighting it at a time.I've been informed that the Rathalos area isn't just some generic level or MH-themed area, it's an actual specific area from MH4 - Ancestral Steppe - and now I'm having a real hard time imagining it'll be exclusive to whatever Spirits Mode is, should that even function like an Adventure Mode.
