I have to admit so far the Ultimate leaks have been disappointing so far. We need some quality ones soon.

Remember the Palutena leak that time so much debates if it was real or not. These are the leaks that are great discussing instead of the usual text leak.

It's not "following patterns", it's basic game development 101.

how can you tell me that Sakurai wouldn't be more flexible when he has the same amount of time as Smash 3DS and Wii U and can port 58 of the 69 characters we currently have, along with a large number of stages and items?

You do realize Smash Ultimate's project plan proposal and all the content within accounted for the context of the game's development and the capabilities of what could be achieved? Sakurai didn't add back veterans as time went on and just happened to fit them all in, he decided right from beginning to make it a top priority because of the circumstances of the game allowed it. Melee's project plan proposal was made with the knowledge that the game's development cycle was going to be less than a year, Brawl's project plan proposal was made with the knowledge that a huge story mode with CGI cutscenes was going to done, Smash 4's project plan proposal was made with the knowledge that they were going to make the game for the Wii U and 3DS simultaneously with exclusive content to both, and Smash Ultimate's project plan proposal was made with the knowledge that content could be directly ported and usable with little effort from Smash Wii U. The timetable, developmental resources, and budget for Ultimate was decided with all that content in mind and all the other content we still haven't seen yet, it wasn't a happy accident of development just going so damn smoothly that we got all that stuff.

I'm not denying a new character takes a lot of time and effort, but I don't think you understand that Ultimate is not guaranteed to unfold the same way Melee, Brawl, and Smash 4 did. For all we know, Nintendo may have extended the development time for Sakurai so he could make a higher quality game, giving him the opportunity to do things he wouldn't have been able to do before.

Any game delay costs a significant amount of money, and game delays are granted to finish and/or polish existing content when it's not up to a satisfactory standard, not to add more content mid-development, especially not when DLC is possible. And development could go a bit smoother than anticipated, sure, but so much so that they're a year ahead of schedule and can fit in completely new characters? You're being desperate at that point to justify why a character can make it in.

Hiya, I got some info on some of Nintendo's future plans. Sorry to everyone that was expecting a Smash overload here but I don't have much on that. Let's get started.
>Star Fox Grand Prix is real and, yes, it's being developed by Retro. Grand Prix is still the working title. The game only lets you play as Fox in story mode besides side missions and flashbacks. Launches Summer of 2019
>Donkey Country Returns 3 (Working Title) is being developed by Monster Games. They've been working on it since the release of Tropical Freeze in 2014. Built off of Retro's Tropical Freeze engine and features the Tikis, the Snowmads, and the Kremlings. Launches Fall of 2019.
>Luigi's Mansion 3 (Working Title) is coming and will release simultaneously on 3DS and Switch. Unknown release window
>A new 2D Super Mario is in development and it apparently ditches the "New" branding and runs off an entirely new engine. Winter 2019

So, for those of you who do not know, the stock of Nintendo is going down. The Switch still isn't outselling the 3DS. I have some news, you can expect new titles to be announced as early as Jan 15th 2019

3DS games are being ported over, Samus Returns, Star Fox 64, Orcarina of Time, Link Between Worlds, Kid Ikarus:Uprising, Sonic Generations, Metal Gear 3: Snake Eater

A few console games, Mario Galaxy, Paper Mario 64, Twilight Princess, Double Dash, Punch Out, Sonic Colours, Final Fantasy 7 (orginal), Mega Man Legends, Digimon Rumble Arena, and there's talk for Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 to start being worked on for a port as early as Feb.

And expect all NES, SNES game ported most Genesis too. Some GBA games surprised me particulally Sonic Battle? It was was weird, I don’t remember that one it's kinda a fighting game with the Sonic cast.

Also a Smash leak while I'm at it. Sora is a semi clone of Robin and Shulk. Even having the losing weapon gimmick. So his specials use the Shooting Star keyblade, but for his smash attacks he gets Oblivion or Oathkeeper. Roxas and Xion are skins.
Wargreymon is also a semi clone. He can shoot a giant fire ball, and ram into like Charizard. Wargreymon and Sora were only added in because they were easy to animate due to recycled moves.
Simon Belmont is very orginal a lot of work was put into him.
The King of Red Lions also is pretty orginal and fun to use I often play Styx songs while hitting people with the sail.
We also have more echos, Shadow (who looks weird running instead of skating but that might get fixed later), Impa, Black Shadow, Dark Samus, Masked Man (Lucas' Brother I think?)

Assist trophies- Amy Rose, Eggman, Team Rocket (oddly using Tetris? Like blocks with pokemon types on it.), Tron Bonne, Xiaomu, Excitebike, Ballon Fighter, Tamagon (I'm told it's the same game as the Devil assist trophy), King Hippo, Dixie Kong, King K.Rool, Bubbles (from an old game called Clu Clu Land), Plum (I think she's from Mario Golf?)

Smash section makes no sense. Is the King of Red Lions a character? That's certainly new. Kid Icarus Uprising on Switch is a dream for me though.

I'm going to make a separate session to cover the Lloyd shadow leak we kind of talked about earlier, because it's the best leak I've seen yet (quality is similar to the Wurmple and Ninten leaks from earlier). I'm also going to attempt a little bit of analysis on it as well.

To start, the image seems to be a phone screenshot of some sort of a photo taken landscape being looked at portrait style. It's taken at a very specific time after the character portraits have been laid out and the eye flash has disappeared but before the portraits become colored (It's a small time frame, but it's possible, especially considering load times might be slower when undocked, making this time frame wider). The colors are two Inklings (regular and schoolgirl), Snake, and what looks to be Lloyd Irving. No render for Lloyd has been presented that fits the shadow. I know many wrote off this leak due to the fact that Inkling's Ink Tank isn't visible, but I think that's wrong. All footage taken has come from a TV, which means that character portraits have more space to take up and are wider. It's possible that on the Switch version portrait space is slimmed down so that each character can be seen better. The Ink Tank can be seen off of her right side, but the tick marks can't because they're off screen. I took a screenshot that shows approximately what the portrait would look like at that width:

Notice the same spaces and lines where the shadow is.

I'm not saying that it's real, but I'm saying that it's not dead based off of the lack of ink tank markers on Inkling. Until I see a render I'm not convinced one way or another.

This is besides the point, but we've been wrong about true photo leaks in the past as well. Remember former examples such as Game and Watch's arm going into Wario's space, or Shulk being a photoshopped Little Mac.

The whole we haven't seen it undocked is a true point I never realized. However as far as I understand it's not about the ticks but rather that the ink tanknisnt darkened like it is in the example here.

Just found a video, her head would be the same as the default from that angle. However, I did notice that the actual Inkling render darkens the background where the ink tank would be, and in the supposed leak, it doesn't. I didn't believe it at all before, but yeah, it's totally fake.

From what I see it's not about the ticks but the difference in shading...could be an undocked difference but I don't see why.

So, for those of you who do not know, the stock of Nintendo is going down. The Switch still isn't outselling the 3DS. I have some news, you can expect new titles to be announced as early as Jan 15th 2019

3DS games are being ported over, Samus Returns, Star Fox 64, Orcarina of Time, Link Between Worlds, Kid Ikarus:Uprising, Sonic Generations, Metal Gear 3: Snake Eater

A few console games, Mario Galaxy, Paper Mario 64, Twilight Princess, Double Dash, Punch Out, Sonic Colours, Final Fantasy 7 (orginal), Mega Man Legends, Digimon Rumble Arena, and there's talk for Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 to start being worked on for a port as early as Feb.

And expect all NES, SNES game ported most Genesis too. Some GBA games surprised me particulally Sonic Battle? It was was weird, I don’t remember that one it's kinda a fighting game with the Sonic cast.

Also a Smash leak while I'm at it. Sora is a semi clone of Robin and Shulk. Even having the losing weapon gimmick. So his specials use the Shooting Star keyblade, but for his smash attacks he gets Oblivion or Oathkeeper. Roxas and Xion are skins.
Wargreymon is also a semi clone. He can shoot a giant fire ball, and ram into like Charizard. Wargreymon and Sora were only added in because they were easy to animate due to recycled moves.
Simon Belmont is very orginal a lot of work was put into him.
The King of Red Lions also is pretty orginal and fun to use I often play Styx songs while hitting people with the sail.
We also have more echos, Shadow (who looks weird running instead of skating but that might get fixed later), Impa, Black Shadow, Dark Samus, Masked Man (Lucas' Brother I think?)

Assist trophies- Amy Rose, Eggman, Team Rocket (oddly using Tetris? Like blocks with pokemon types on it.), Tron Bonne, Xiaomu, Excitebike, Ballon Fighter, Tamagon (I'm told it's the same game as the Devil assist trophy), King Hippo, Dixie Kong, King K.Rool, Bubbles (from an old game called Clu Clu Land), Plum (I think she's from Mario Golf?)

Smash section makes no sense. Is the King of Red Lions a character? That's certainly new. Kid Icarus Uprising on Switch is a dream for me though.

I'm going to make a separate session to cover the Lloyd shadow leak we kind of talked about earlier, because it's the best leak I've seen yet (quality is similar to the Wurmple and Ninten leaks from earlier). I'm also going to attempt a little bit of analysis on it as well.

To start, the image seems to be a phone screenshot of some sort of a photo taken landscape being looked at portrait style. It's taken at a very specific time after the character portraits have been laid out and the eye flash has disappeared but before the portraits become colored (It's a small time frame, but it's possible, especially considering load times might be slower when undocked, making this time frame wider). The colors are two Inklings (regular and schoolgirl), Snake, and what looks to be Lloyd Irving. No render for Lloyd has been presented that fits the shadow. I know many wrote off this leak due to the fact that Inkling's Ink Tank isn't visible, but I think that's wrong. All footage taken has come from a TV, which means that character portraits have more space to take up and are wider. It's possible that on the Switch version portrait space is slimmed down so that each character can be seen better. The Ink Tank can be seen off of her right side, but the tick marks can't because they're off screen. I took a screenshot that shows approximately what the portrait would look like at that width:

Notice the same spaces and lines where the shadow is.

I'm not saying that it's real, but I'm saying that it's not dead based off of the lack of ink tank markers on Inkling. Until I see a render I'm not convinced one way or another.

This is besides the point, but we've been wrong about true photo leaks in the past as well. Remember former examples such as Game and Watch's arm going into Wario's space, or Shulk being a photoshopped Little Mac.

I know I'm late to this discussion but I'd just like to point out that if you say you'd like a character to be cut then you're wishing for someone else to lose their main. Why would you ever wish that upon someone else? After I lost Ivysaur and Squirtle I never wanted to see a roster cut again, even for a character I persomally don't care for, just because I know how much it'll suck for someone else.

I can understand that someone doesn't want more FE characters, but wanting cuts is something else entirely. Why would you want the roster to be smaller?

Number 4 sounds awesome! I'd love a circumstance where Dovahkiin and Simon Belmont are both revealed - imagine them teaming up to go through an old Nordic ruin filled with Draugr and Vampires. The two of them really play off of each other well.

But a Waluigi main game? That's trying to be another Luigi's Mansion?? And a Yoshi/Labo thing??? Too bad, I really wanted that 'leak.'

I just realized that a lot of fake leakers try to revolve their leaks around a certain event like a Direct. It's mostly due to a lot of real leakers posting near the dates of these events with their correct info, since the things are being sent to lower and lower ranks. So I bet any leak that shows a YEAR long count for characters is pretty much fake at this point. Unless if they snuck into Nintendo HQ themselves and got the info.


I guess if you could make your own battlefield model and Smash Ultimate Mario Model and try to create a model for a character, then animate them using footage as reference, AND THEN passing that off as a leak would blow peoples mind the first time...

I thought it was ripped from the video because Source Gaming did say that it was tooken from the video but it wasn’t in it and when I looked at it.

But it turns out that the table the switch is on is the exact same as the video.

I wonder who and where that render came from though?

Got bored so I decided to do a stage-to-character rating thing. Which series has more stages in relation to the characters it has? This includes brand new ones introduced in Ultimate. A series that has twice as many stages as it does characters would get a ranking of 2 and vice versa would be .5

The Mii Fighters and all the Battlefield and Final Destination variants don't count.

has no stages (so far) and Balloon Fight, Nintendo DS, Electroplankton, Find Mii, Miiverse, Nintendogs, Pilotwings, Tomodachi, Wii Sports and Wrecking Crew have no characters (so far).

I have to admit so far the Ultimate leaks have been disappointing so far. We need some quality ones soon.

Remember the Palutena leak that time so much debates if it was real or not. These are the leaks that are great discussing instead of the usual text leak.

You really underestimate just how infamous these were.

Even Palutena's page in SSB4's Official Site had the 3DS-images be basically recreations of this "photo leak":

If someone wants to make a hard to prove wrong Smash Ultimate "leak" then they should model swap a character in Smash 4 with their leaked character
(it'll take dozens of hours and skill to make a convincing model so gl;hf on this part, unless you can find an existing model and make it look unique) and then take a screenshot on a visually untouched stage like Duck Hunt. Do a little touchups and photoshop the image onto a blurry Switch photo and there ya go.

We need a step up from this low leak quality that we've had so far!

I don't understand why people don't make more "image-leaks" of Geno. It would be almost effortless. I'm a Blender newbie and it would take me just a little over an hour to go in there, throw together a close-up of his head, silhouette it, and glue it to a screenshot of some HD Ultimate footage in photoshop.

I was including all of Smash, including the new stages and characters in Ultimate. The Mario series has 20 stages to 8 characters, so 2.5

I just realized that a lot of fake leakers try to revolve their leaks around a certain event like a Direct. It's mostly due to a lot of real leakers posting near the dates of these events with their correct info, since the things are being sent to lower and lower ranks. So I bet any leak that shows a YEAR long count for characters is pretty much fake at this point. Unless if they snuck into Nintendo HQ themselves and got the info.


I guess if you could make your own battlefield model and Smash Ultimate Mario Model and try to create a model for a character, then animate them using footage as reference, AND THEN passing that off as a leak would blow peoples mind the first time...

Honestly this ideal made me think about just making my own fake leak and see how it goes, but then again I don't want to go near fourchan so I'm gonna post it in a spoiler below

Spoiler: OBVIOUS FAKE SMASH LEAK

There's going to be a Nintendo Direct in September 6th featuring mostly newer Switch games and Smash Bros news. The direct isn't going to go too much in depth with the Smash Bros stuff, but will reveal at least 3 characters.

The direct will start with a King K.Rool reveal trailer, revealing the character and a stage based off his boss fight in DKC 1 with a remix of his boss fight music to boot.

Then the Direct will start off with a reveal of the new Yoshi game, Yoshi's Cardboard Country. The direct will show off more stuff about the game including a January 23rd 2019 release date and a brand new Amiibo/Labo hybrid Cardboard Yoshi. Cardboard Yoshi acts as a super assist like Funky Kong does, mostly aimed at a younger demographic who would have trouble.

Then we'll get news of Star Fox GP and a New F-Zero Game, F-Zero SX. Star Fox GP is kind of similar to Sega All Stars Racing Transformed, a lot of the same terrain changing mechanics there. The roster for that game will have a lot of fan favorite characters there and some newer crew members. There's also a story mode for the game that has branching paths like the Star Fox games do. The newer F-Zero game is alot like GX and caters to both hardcore and casual audiences, including a new Party mode with items like extra boost and missiles. There's also a story mode there for every racer in the game, which is comprised of some from GX and some new additions to the cast. There's also a brand new and deeply intricate machine editor that does not use any premade parts at all and a new track editor.

We will then get into Nindies news, after that a trailer revealing a newcomer that's kind of unexpected... Doom Slayer... complete with a full trailer and character showoff, new stage (UAC Facility) and a remix of E1M1.

Then after that reveal there will be a special announcement that shows the Smash Logo and then the Square Enix logo and then a date for October the 13th.
Possibly a future Direct. I dunno who it's going to be, possibly Geno or Chrono... but I can only guess at this point :9
