Does anyone here either talk in their sleep or have funny stories of things they or others have said while sleeping?

I, personally, don't sleeptalk ever. Sometimes I won't make sense too much in the morning, but it tends to be explainable. Like one time my roommate tried to wake me up when I was sleeping through the alarm, and I thought it was his alarm going off instead of mine, so I was confused why he was waking me up.

However, I do have a ton of good sleeptalking stories, but I'll just post two.

The first is when my roommate was sleeping and I think I was either on Smashboards or doing a paper or something. All of a sudden he starts mumbling things in his sleep. Since I've heard him sleeptalk multiple times, I start trying to get him talking.

"What, Chad?"
"Put the gun down!"

I start laughing hysterically, but try to keep it as quiet as possible. He starts drifting back into sleep, but before doing so remarks, "I'm gonna punch you in the face..."

And the second one actually happened about an hour ago. My brother's spending the night in my dorm room on the floor, and I was on the computer or something. All of a sudden my brother wakes up and looks over at me. He looks completely awake and reasonable, but what comes out of his mouth isn't:

"We have to save the chairs," he says, sitting up. I immediately start laughing, figuring he's either faking it or that he'd realize soon that he was sleeping. Instead he reaches for the chair right next to him and starts pulling it closer to himself! Then he looks back at me, still laughing, and asks, "What?" as if his statement was something to be taken entirely seriously. Not wanting to confront him when he's sleeptalking (he's gotten angry at me before for reminding him that we were not in an elevator), I just say "Nothing, it's nothing."

He continues to look at me, completely seriously, and asks "But you know what I mean, right?"

"Yeah...sure" I respond, trying to get out of the situation. I find some excuse to go check where my roommate is at just to get out of the room for a minute, and he pulls the chair closer again and falls back asleep.

Tell your stories!!

lol

Apparently I sleep talk. Though nobody can hear what I say most of the time.

"Oh, I like books too."

It appears that when I sleeptalk, I sleepshout. Many times I've been told that I kept people awake with my nocturnal ramblings. Uh, you're welcome?

I sleep talk quite a bit (at least twice a week)and it always disturbs whoever is around at the time. Lets see, I've talked about killing devices and have talked as Alice from Alice in wonderland and through the looking glass. I've also talk back to people in my sleep and I never remeber it. Does anyone else do that?

I'm quite conversational in my sleep sometimes. Many times people have had conversations with me not knowing I'm asleep. I also often sleepwalk around the house doing stuff like get up and have a drink or go to the toilet etc.

I've found that anyone I've met who does sleeptalk will respond to people when they talk to them.

I once had a friend that would convince me he was going to wake up soon, in his sleep! He'd say the night before that we'd get up early to go pray, and so I'd wake him up before I went to go take a shower and he said he'd be getting up soon or something, and then I'd get out of the shower and find him still asleep. So I'd try waking him up again and be like "You said you were awake." He responded "I am awake! I don't even know why I'm so awake right now." After a while I gave up on him and went out by myself to pray.

I've done that before it always makes me laugh when people tell me later that day. I also tend to sleep with my tv or computer on and tell people off in my sleep for turning it off/changing the channel.

Cody sleep talks a lot.

I tease him about it every time he wakes up.
Some of the stuff he says makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

haha I have the best story about one of my friends. It was so random too xD

But it probably won't be funny to you guys now that I think about it............

Anyways, me and my friend noticed our other friend sleep talking, so we started saying random stuff and we were manipulating his dream xD
We knew he was sleeping and not faking it

Once he woke up (He woke up from us laughing too much btw) we asked him what he saw in his dream and everything we said to him while he was sleeping was in his dream.

And my sleeping friend was sleep talking throughout the whole thing xD

I won't go into details cause it will just sound stupid to you guys

The one where the person grabs something like a nightstand and mutters nonsense happens the most to me. I've heard people sleeptalk about bananas, fish...all sorts of crazy stuff.

I personally don't sleeptalk, but my brothers and mother do.

When you are in the military, a lot of times the pressure causes you're brain to sort of think its supposed to continue taking orders in your sleep. I've known people to get up and start doing some task in their sleep because they are so used to being ordered to do it when they are awake. They randomly sit up and say "Yes Sir!" or "Yes Chief!" and then they go about doing whatever it is they think they are being ordered to do, a lot of times beginning to call out military orders themselves to the rest of us. We just laugh and wait for them to relax and go back into their bed or sometimes try to guide them back to their bunk lol.

One chick was convinced that she was being ordered to switch mine and her pillow every night, it was kind of weird lol. It sort of became a problem because she would do it EVERY night, and saying that the chief had ordered her to do so. They moved her to a different division to try to stop the problem.

As for me, I giggle, wimper and squeal in my sleep. Ok so one time I barked in my sleep...

apparently when I was little I had multiple screaming fights with my sister late at night... all of which I have no recollection of. I'm not sure how I didn't wake up during all the yelling.... ??

My dad talks in his sleep. Or, in this case screams and moans. He only talks in his sleep when he has bad dreams which is nearly every night anyway.

Once I (apperantly) was talking in my sleep. One day I woke up with a really bad fever, and after we finished breakfast I went back to sleep. When I woke up my mom asked me if I was ok and I said 'yes', and then she asked me if I woke up at all when I was asleep and I said 'no'.

Apperantly my mother walked into my room and I was sitting up in bed and she asked me if I was awake. I responded with 'after I finish giving out all the halloween candy to the children for Christmas' and fell back to sleep.

Once I told my mother 'i'll wake up in five minutes' in my sleep and then five minutes later I was fully awake. I also had a dream (when I first started working) that I kept wrapping bags up for the holidays and my mother comes in and tells me to wake up and I respond with 'after I finish wrapping this last present'. In my dream, once I was done wrapping it I suddenly woke up. And yes, I remember those myself, since I asked my mom if I really said those out loud and she said I did.

"Gimme that soda/Dr. Pepper!"

...Next thing I know, I'm in my bed, awake, and my hand is sticking out like it was reaching for something...

...Otherwise I do not sleeptalk... or at least I'm not aware if I do.

I was just drawing in my bed for quite a while, and so my sister sleeps in the same room, and all of a sudden she screams out "No pikachu!" and i thought she was awake, so i was like "shutup and go to sleep!" and she didn't answer back so i know she was sleeptalking and i started laughing, i still question why she said that though.....

Apparently, I laugh in my sleep. And say things half consciously. I mean, I'm AWAKE, but I say random things that I remember later...

Once my sister started sleep talking while I was sneaking into her room for some money. I thought I was busted until I listened to watch she was saying. She was like "No, thank you" and "Pass me the salt please". I had to try hard not to burst out laughing.

And while I don't sleeptalk, I do sleepwalk.

Okay so like 7 years ago one of my friends was over at my house. He was staying the night and was sleeping on an air mattress on my floor. So it was about 2.30 am and we were both really tired so we decide to go to sleep. We sleep for a solid two hours, and then I heard something and it woke me up. So I sit up and try to listen for it, I realize he's mumbling in his sleep. I thought he might be messing around so I said, "Alex, what the heck?" And he turns over and keeps mumbling. So I got up and the floor creaked, he then starts talking louder. so I sat back down and listened. He very clearly said," I love the cookies...they're so warm and greasy." I started laughing, cause we had ate cookies early on. He just kept mumbling on incoherently, then something else stuck out, "I'm gonna kill you if you drop the hammer". i busted out laughing. He shot up. and asked me what was going on, and I explained to him. So he starts laughing and then goes back to sleep.

Next time he was over he sleep walked all over my house searching for something he referred to as "The Bavver". I asked him about it the next morning, since it's supposedly not good to wake up a sleep walker.

He had no clue and laughed for a while.

EDIT: I just remembered how funny this was, titled.

I was disturbed for the rest of the night.

One day my buddy was on the prison shift. Well I was sleeping in the same room as him when he awoke with a start. Thinking I was an inmate, he threw me in a closet, locked it, and got a gun. I slept in the closet that night. When I woke up, I found him sleeping in front of the closet door with a loaded gun.

I guess I'll give a funny story out about when I was around 6-7th grade. It happened to me a lot actually.

We lived in a kind of large house and most of the time I would fall asleep in the living room on the couch. Anyways, every night whenever I fall asleep my stepdad would just take me to my room and I wouldn't even know it. I don't remember not even ONE day where he took me back to my room to sleep, all I remember is waking up there, that's it. I would also apparently talk to, saying "okay" or "yah", just simple words I guess. It was funny hearing about some of the things I'd do.

Apparently I once tried to walk out the door in my boxers in the mid winter (about 30 degrees outside). I don't remember it still ><.
I don't do it anymore though, not that I know of at least. >.>

SENSHU BUNPOU!!
I recently had my cousin bunk up with me in my room. He pulled out the spare bed thing for him to sleep on and before going to sleep says, "be careful, I snore." then laughed and started to sleep. He started to snore so fast after laying back, I swore he was screwing with me. He was snoreing very very loud. After telling him to stop and looking over at him, he was really knocked out asleep. I decided to just suck it up and bare through it, but after afew minutes of extremely loud snoreing, he started to talk. I made sure he was really asleep again, I kept thinking there was no way. He started saying the most random things ever. "hey...put down.... THE BOOKS"
"Stupid table."
"What's the number? its on...ITS ON THE BACK ****IT"
After awhile, I just got my pillow and stuff and took off to the living room couch.

I've slept alongside people who snore and sleeptalkers before, but he was on a whole new level than what I've seen.

Last night my roommate kept going on about one and one, and was never able to intelligibly state what one and one made or the significance of them at all. I thought 2 would have sufficed as an answer, but apparently not. Was funny. I tried to get him to keep going in conversation but he just started mumbling eventually :(

Also, when I finally was going to sleep or whatever, I got up and went to the bathroom and all of a sudden he asks me "What's going on?" and then I just tell him I'm going to sleep and he's like "Okay." I thought it was sleeptalking though. I think I dropped something which woke him up or something.

Oh, and another story: I was on a retreat with my church over the weekend, and my roommate (he's a Christian too, he actually got converted by me which was cool ^_^) had to leave earlier on Sunday. Turns out the person driving him needed to drive him back at 7:30 AM, so he figured he'd get up at 7 and we set the alarm for that. We had two other people staying with us in the same apartment-ish thing, and one of them gets up at 6 AM, wakes up me and my roommate and says:

"Hey, Chad, it's 6 o' clock." Confused, he says "What? I thought we set an alarm."

Me being the one that woke up fully explained "Yes, we set the alarm for 7...we still have another hour to sleep."

The other roommate was like, "Yeah, well, I just wanted to let you know." and then went back to bed.

We think he was sleepwalking or something, because it made no sense for him to wake us up an hour early and then explaining it by saying that he just wanted to let us know that it was 6 o' clock, but he has done some interesting things before <.<;;

I slept over someones house a long time ago and as we began faling asleep my friend starts sleep talking about a teacher and an apple tree. I continued to ask him questions pertaining to the tree and he would just say I dunno it was just a tree and an apple or something along those lines. He then twitched and woke up and said "did anyone hear someone talk about apples?"

It was 2002 and I invited from friends over for the night to watch wrestlemania 18 with me. Beforehand, we had watched wrestlemania 17 and 16, which had our favorite match ever at the time.

The Dudley Boys vs. The Hardy Boys vs. Edge & Christian in a TLC match.

Jake was a hardcore Dudley fan, the other, Adam, being Hardy Boys fan, and me being neutral.

At around 2:00 AM we decide to go to sleep. I wake up and check my alarm clock to see it was 4:23. But the alarm didn't wake me up, Jake did. I wake up Adam and we huddle around listening to mumbling of a fat ****.

I remember hearing, "Pl-please. Just gimme the bear and you will be healed, Jesus," and "Love is breezing all the way. What a communist, gawsh."

We succeed in holding in the laughter, and go back to sleep.
At seven, I get up to get some water that was on my desk. I take a sip and hold the water in my mouth for some reason. I put the glass down and it makes a huge bang sound.

Jake sits up instantly and yells, "GET THE TABLES!" ... Some Hardcore Dudley fan.

I spit out the water on my floor and made a mess, but me and Adam laughed so hard that our neighbors complained ten minutes later.

One of my roommates freshman year would yell things in his sleep. I slept in the bunk below him, so he always woke me up.

I remember the one time him while I was writing a paper and he had already fallen asleep, he suddenly screamed "No, Gary! I'll save you!" It was hilarious for some reason, lol. The next day I asked him if he knew anyone named Gary, and he didn't, so who knows what he was dreaming about.

As for me, I don't know if I talk in my sleep. But I know when I'm falling asleep or really tired if someone tries to have a conversation I just start talking nonsense until I realize what I'm saying. It's pretty funny.

I had a roommate that talked in his sleep for like two weeks straight. At first I didn't realize what was going on, so I kept responding, saying I couldn't understnad him and asking if he was okay. It was completely unintelligible, but he was definintely saying something. One night, he randomly blurts out "Help ... *anxious gasp* ... not the Nuns." The man has never seen a Nun in person in his life. Too good.

Once I, while completely unconcsious, got out of bed, gathered my soap and shampoo, unlocked the door, walked to the shower, turned on the water, and promptly woke up. I was still in my clothes, though.

About a year ago, my friend and his little brother were staying the night at my house. Suddenly I was woken up in the middle of the night by my friend's brother who screamed out "FIREBALL GAMING!" (which was the name of his website)

I saw that he was asleep and I got angry at him for waking me up so I told him to shut up. And you know what happens a second after that? I hear him whisper the exact thing he said before. It was hilarious.

This isn't really sleep talking but one night last week i dreamt it was raining. I woke up and it was still raining. About half a second later I realized my roommate was sneezing and...well...yeah.
