Let's talk about it. I know we're all pretty serious players of vidyagames here, so we've all had those nights.
What's the longest you stayed up?
What's the weirdest thing you felt/did while up for too long?

My favorite story of this is a friend of mine stayed up for two days, went downstairs, and poured himself a nice refreshing plate of mountain dew...yeah.

I've stayed up for roughly 40 hours. That was when I pulled off an all nighter for my finals. I had to drive home from campus and it felt like I was falling asleep behind the wheel.

Around 60 hours, because exams had finished and I have several groups of friends independent of each other.

Basically they called me back to back with each day so I never got any sleep.

Party on!

I slept like a rock after I was done.

Err, I like my sleep, longest is probably around 20 hours. I don't care much about pulling all-nighters for video games, seems ********.

I've stayed up for like two and a half days.

I woke up at 9 AM, and like two hours later my buddy asked if I wanted to sleep over. I did, and we always pull all nighters. No big deal. So I go back home at like 1 PM and expect to get some sleep, pretending I didn't pull an all nighter (they hate that), and my neighbors asked if I can go over. So I did, and eventually they asked if I can sleep over. So at like midnight, I was like dead. I ended up drinking from the gallon of milk. It was their milk. Then, we went to the movies, and I asked for popcorn and a medium soda (idk what made me think there was a soda machine outside of the counter. Maybe the same thing that made me drink the milk). The lady asked what soda. I said butter please. The look on her face was priceless. We saw the A Team. I don't remember a thing about it. So we go back home, play video games through the night, and at 3 PM the next day, I pass out. I woke up at 7 AM the next day, after waking up multiple times.

It was an awkward experience. But it was kind of fun.

Has "slurred speech" happened to anyone? Like when you sound sort of drunk. lol
Yeah, my speech is more likely to slur when I'm tired than when I'm drunk. In fact, I act more like a typical drunk when sleepy than when I'm actually in the real state.

Probabally 35 hours for me back in 1999. My friend and I stayed up all night playing video games. Can't remember what games though. I think Nascar 99 was one of them along with WCW/NWO Wrestling, or maybe it was WWF Warzone. Later on the next day we had to go to the rec center to get football gear for the upcoming football season.

I haven't been up anything to that magnitude in a row since, but I have pulled being up for 30 hours in a 34 hour time span mainly due to a combination of work, school, running and other stuff. I can't remember anything stupid or funny I've ever done being so tired. I guess just laughing at just about anything funny.

I've gotten to a point where I literally felt like I was looking at the world through frosted glass. It was horrible, yet serene.
Likewise, sometimes I get scared that my body doesn't want to fall asleep some nights. Should I take comfort in the fact that if my body isn't asking for it, I don't need it, or is this cause for concern ?
Also, I operate better on 4-5 hours of sleep than I do on 8 or more hours.

Latest I've stayed up is 8:00 AM and then I fell asleep and slept until 5 PM.
It was an insane sleepover with my friend, his little brother, his step-sister, and his step-sister's girl friend (friend that's a girl).

It wasn't because of video games, but I've stayed up for a little over two days without sleep.

I was tired and had very mild visual hallucinations, but other than that I was fully functional.

You guys really start ordering butter and pouring plates of mountain dew after that time?!

jolly old england. hohoho.
I've done ~52 hours before. Party till 7am + shower + lectures + go to someone's house for rest of day. I was going strong till 50 hours in (and winning a game of poker!). Then I started falling asleep mid-conversation. I don't really want to do it again. I think I slept for about 15 hours after that and just felt weird for a couple of days.

I've had a fair few all nighters playing videogames too. I tend to sleep after about 30 hours because there's not much point being awake after that.

(Yes, my body clock is non existant. I quite happily change my sleeping habits at will.)

Longest I've gone was around 40 hours through gaming at a friends, then party followed by doing stupid wasted shiz afterwards.
Was pretty fun, didn't feel that bad at all really :)

For the past couple years my sleeping patterns have been stuffed, too many late nights resulting in no longer falling asleep unless I'm completely exhausted, if not, I'll lie there to 1am...
Been operating on 5-6 hours of sleep, still feel tired during the day.

I WISH I could do all nighters. My dad allows me to do them as long as I don't have anything important the next day, but my grandmother ****ing bull****. I can't ever have an all nighter with her around because she will start nagging at me of how she saw this kid on the news who's a zombie because of video games or how I'll never fix my sleep clock, or how it's possible that I have anemia.

I'm serious, it's like I can't enjoy the simple pleasures that most teens go through because of my grandmother >_<

Apparently The Who (British rock band) stayed up for 6 nights in a row, because at the end of every night of drinking/partying they were so late one of them would say "Well its so late there's no point going to sleep, may as well stay up"

I don't get it, what's pleasure of pulling an all-nighter, other than feeling **** the next day?
When you start doing them more frequently, it will mess you up a bit.

i umm..... not that im really adding to the subject a lot, but i justwanted to say
A. i have no life, so theres no reason for me to ever pull an alnighter with friends or anything
B. if i get less than 6 hours of sleep, im three times as likely to stab my brothers. they always pick to be even more annoying when i dont reach that amount of sleep. hahahaha

Mine was like 3 years ago about 48 hours. I couldnt sleep at all, probably because of heat. Then I had to go the lab in the morning, got blood taken out, didn't eat at alland then went to a yugioh tourney (which IIRC I won LOL) and well, yeah. That night was the worse thing EVER for me. It felt so weird + I couldnt eat at all when I got home. After that, I felt VERY weird for a few days and basically slept everywhere.

So, I learned: no sleep + labs+no food in the morning dont go well together.

Um. . . I once stayed up what seemed to be all night and the next day as a little kid, due to severe tooth pain. I can't remember how it really went down (rather or not I actually got some micro sleep or not) as it was just a long time ago.

Now and days I stay up to about 2 or 3am regularly. Sometimes though, I get bored but don't feel like sleeping, so I'll do a bunch of random hobbies until my dad wakes up (5am).

I can't remember any time I stayed up all night so to soley play video games. If I ever was to do so then it would be just so I could say that I stayed up all night playing video games (although I could see myself actually enjoying that with Melee).

After a weekend of partying (fri -sun maybe 4 hrs of sleep) I got home, started petting my dog, turned to mom and said,

"Good thing Pookie's a girl or she'd have to fight in the war."

My mom,
"WTH are you talking about?"

I then went on about how Skipper, our male dog, has it tough now a days with rumors about reinstating the draft and all.

*facepalm

3 1/2 days.

I drank 2 of those days and was getting high on the last one.

When I was eventually walking home I was almost hallucinating, things were randomly appearing and disappearing.

Like Teran said, I slept like a rock baby.

You can't even really think properly in any way when your that tired.

That being said I often enough stay up for 2 days.Sometimes you have to fight through some extreme tiredness to get your 2nd wind.

Rofl that's great.

The longest I've gone without sleep is 3 days I think... I don't know I have gone without it quite a few times, all the memories sort of run together.

Anyway, I didn't do anything THAT strange but once I hit a certain point I was sort of just on autopilot, and I didn't feel sleepy yet at random times I would fall asleep instantly and wake up a few minutes later confused. Like one time when I was looking through my closet I like fell asleep instantly and woke up leaned over with my head in one of my clothes bins n was like what the hell.

I stayed up 4 days, before passing out in the showers. It was seriously too hot to sleep. No AC either. I went to McDonalds the day I passed out, and I asked for a McHitler and a Giant Enemy Crab. I really wanted a McChicken and a large fry. I also sounded drunk when I prank called Best Buy. Never again I don't even.

The only times I have ever pulled an all-nighter were when me and my friend would play starwars battlefront 2. BEST GAME EVER!

I've stayed up for about 40 hours once, birthday partay way back when.

Now, because it's summer, I stay up til like 5-6 in the morning on the daily. Partying to be done. I've cleverly figured out a system where I don't do anything but party all night, and sleep all day. Because I'm not involved in any extracurricular activities, this works out pretty well.

Sleep deprivation sucks

I have like, mild insomnia, so on a typical day, I don't fall asleep until around 2:00 AM.
If I'm suffering badly, I won't fall asleep until 4 or 5.

When I leave for Hong Kong, I typically spend the day before packing, then don't fall asleep because of anticipation. Then I head on the plane for a good 19.5 hour flight to Hong Kong, which is pretty much another day since I cross the International Date Line. After I arrive I don't fall asleep for another day, so that totals to around 4 or 5 days without sleep. XD

Yeah me too. Unless it's not on a school night, I stay up to 2 and if I'm really bad it'll be at around 4.

I hate how I can't sleep when I don't want to pull an all nighter.
