maybe i should get some vids up...i been practicing my game a little on the AiB ladder, i think i've improved quite a bit since the like half a year i been playing though progress is slowing...

Just saying that if anyone is going to be critiquing it SHOULD be the following people, since everyone there has shown their knowledge about Sheik in some form or another, or their prowess w/ Sheik (except me LOL...will have MUCH better vids where I don't get ***** by Pikafool soon)

Not sure if Chok wants critiquing from me but his playstyle strikes me as the most appealing so I really want to start with him:

Chok has amazing understanding of how to switch up Sheik's given moves when it came to Ftilting to Dsmashing & recovering variety from the chain to vanish, from using the simple forward frames of Fair. Right off the match Chok's ability to predict shined and didn't stop until the end. He was reading one step ahead of every DNA's own 'predictions' very well.

I love how aggressive he fought. That constant barrage really makes Sheik a tough competitor when you're looking down the end of a wall from attacks that cover every surface, Utilt-to ftilt, to dtilt then Jabs to Nair. Chok really utilized them well and it was really sleek. Along with how he got up from the ledge in a lot of different manners instead of one favored set really made Sheik look sexy as ever.
Overall nothing looked stale or repetitive.

All this effort though and he ended up losing in the end it was probably do to over aggressiveness on his part. Like the failed DACUS @ 1:40 which was either an attempt to hit Fox or get to the edge quicker to escape from any other punishment; either way it ended up could of been a mean KO from that Usmash.
Other moments where he just slipped a bit like getting stuck doing JABs and the end he could of probably could of gone with Nair instead or a retreating Bair. Better yet just tossed down one needle.

Honestly all in all I think Chok's Sheik is amazing and I really am leaning towards playing similar to him, that rush in and GTFO play style looks lovely. The only reason I feel he lost was just a few minor slip ups that are easily unavoidable in future game play.

I don't see why Chok didn't keep ftilting fox when he had fox in the lock. One thing that I really like what Chok does is the fair from the ledge. Would you mind telling me how you do that Chok =) ? Whenever I try, I don't get as much horizontal distance as you do.

I participated at the Impact Clash 3 tourny during the weekend and got in 9th out of 48....again. I plan on posting up some vids of my sheik so you guys can tell me what am I messing up on.

I feel I should mention in advance that watching Gimpyfish is only good for improving certain aspects of your game e.g. edgeguarding, seeing as he never uses the staple F Tilt lock and a lot of what he does is simply be stylish, much of which can be replaced with simpler and just as/more effective moves, Gimpyfish can just pull off this style because he's generally a very smart player. No doubt if he wasn't so focused on being entertaining he would have been a lot more effective.

critique if you want, it's just more than likely that these people (i'm about to take my name off that list right now, couldn't record today + i won't get a chance to show off my sheik for about a month seeing as i'm not going to any tourneys until a month) will present meaningful opinions

notice how voyeur critiqued anyways? i thought it was pretty accurate, though my style of sheik inherently disagrees with some of his analysis

edit: i'm not going to critique chok's seeing as his style changes every moment he has to play sheik, so his vids aren't recent at any given minute
i'm working on a champ crit, maybe a gimpy + ankoku one too

Calm down there, geez. I think that anyone should be able to critique, seeing that we all have different playstyles... <3 and his needles, Chok and his Norfair, Ankoku and his weird style (and Zeik style), etc. We all have our ideas to contribute, and granted, we might be biased to our own playstyle. This is exactly why many opinions are needed, and at the same time it will be obvious that the better Sheiks such as the ones you tried to limit to be the 'critiquers', mind you, will be listened to more. I find that the more opinions we have, the more that someone can reflect upon their game. That's just how I feel.

Don't take any offense, for none is intended.

anyways i think that this really should be more like the marth video critique thread, where we put up videos that have already been critiqued, vids that are recommended to watch (i.e. of good ppl) and vids that have yet to be critiqued. this should be for ANYONE, not just people who are decent. this way we get improving sheik players =D

You have to admire Ankoku's position of non-productivity. It's the best kind of way to improve the metagame. Perhaps if we all adopted his unique mannerisms, the sheik board would be teeming with discussion. : \

He doesn't owe any of us a **** thing, true, but it would be nice if he'd give something useful to the video critique discussion at some point. Well, besides the fact that he's not going to do anything, we already know that.

That's actually how I intended for it to work. The vids of "good" people will be posted up under the [currently blank] section noted: Reputable Player Videos. Videos that should be or people wish to have critiqued will be placed under the "videos up to be critiqued" section, which either [most likely] weekly or however quickly we feel that all the videos have been critiqued thoroughly they will rotate. The rotation of different videos is so we don't all at once have a jillion <- [Real number] videos all at once to be critiqued, and we can focus on a set before moving on. Any video's that the sheik masses think as a whole should be placed under the "Reputable player videos" will be moved accordingly.

You know what? We should just have a thread where we're allowed to discuss anything Ankoku....topics could include:

-What Avatar do you think Ankoku will use the following hour

-What negative adjective do you think Ankoku will use to describe his Sheik today

-Whether the current week we will see funny, helpful Ankoku or whether we get douchebag Ankoku

-What color his name will be next

-What his next epic random quote he pulls out of his *** will be

-Whether or not he will truly ever leave the boards because of Flamingo

-Why is his laugh and voice are so nasaly sounding

-Whether or not Ankoku is a female

These are the types of things we need to be discussing on the Sheik boards instead of critiquing dumb videos.
