You know, I was wondering something after playing The Dragon's Trap for the first time. Is it possible that Shantae had any inspiration from the Monster World series, or is it a coincidence? The aforementioned game has animal transformations (albeit unwilling for a while), and MWIV was set in an Arabian setting. There's also an emphasis on open-world exploring.

I think Game progression would work like Zelda or such (areas inaccessible until you get the right item/ability) but I think game mechanics and interacting with the world and environment would work a little more like DK64 with an emphasis on fighting and platforming

Good idea. Stuff like this is good to know. I recall Adam Howden, Shulk's voice actor, had a similar excited tweet when he had to voice Shulk for Smash. The difference being that his tweet was a bit more crass about the subject.

There has to be more to Edelgard than we're being let on if they're considering her to be playable. Especially considering she doesn't seem to be the main character.

I suppose we wouldn't get multiple tweets if she happened to voice multiple DLC characters?

To be fair, Reggie never said anything about new series. He said...

"These are going to be characters that are new to the series, just like Joker from Persona 5. Characters that you would not anticipate to be in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate."

Characters that would be new to the series... that you would not anticipate.

I never understood why everyone made such a big deal about the first part of that statement. I mean, the whole point of Ultimate was that all veteran characters were returning, so of course and DLC characters would have to be new to the series since everyone else was already there.

Anyway, I would say a lot of things are lining up for Erdrick, but that might just be because one rumor started that all other rumor makers decided to include.

That said Edelgard could certainly happen, so no one really should be completely sure for or against anyone.

A little while ago I put the Pirate Master and Fawful together in a team-up... actually, Cackletta would probably be the better choice. They're both specters at some point, use dark magic and have unique laughs. They even go out in the same way: yelling "EEEEYAARGH!!!" as they disappear with the screen going white.

You know, it's just as likely that Vee voices Edel...but just for Three Houses.

Which obviously is pretty big, seeing as there aren't much noteworthy upcoming games from Ninty this year.

I personally am hoping hard this could hint to shantae being in smash. Even if it ends up being edelgard or Erdrick female, I would still love to hear vees voice in smash regardless.

Regarding what character fans/people want, its like this:

Wanted- Fans explode with excitement and joy. Bigger if the predictions were true

Not Requested- Opposite way with rage and salt thrown for the newcomer.

End on public release to everyone- Everyone seems understandable after a heated shock of news.

Yeah, the thing is, DQ Heroes features the secondary characters from various DQ games, but none of their heroes. Especially Bianca and Nera, who were just about to be proposed to by Lucas/Abel before they got yanked away into Heroes' setting.

But Shantae does fall asleep when you use the cloud in Jammies mode, with a voice clip to match. And there isn't a guarantee of DLC characters getting proper cutscene reveals like before...

We will see once Nintendo announces another Direct to get the carpet lay out for us to enter. Just be sure to not lose yourself in the fire if things don't fall in place on what was initially thought out, there is always a next time.

Blame the Smash hype for making some jumping the gun towards a different direction. Hype sure can lead to.........various results depending on the conditions.
