They're probably more tickled pink by getting name-dropped in the credits for Smash Ultimate than anything. Judging by the reaction clip posted for Yacht Club's employees reacting to seeing Shovel Knight in Smash, I'd say they're pretty happy about it too. Regardless of what happens, they're immortalized in it forever now. May not seem like much, but these are the people who saw fit to credit every single backer for Half-Genie Hero, likely regardless of their actual contribution.

I'm really just hoping that I will get at least one character i like out of the DLC. All the current rumors about Erdrick, Steve and what have you are leaving me cold.

See, that was one of the ones i never got into. It just never seemed legit to me. Partly because it seemed too convenient listing all the big "wants" from over the years. Maybe that's one of the moments where hope saved me, I didn't really like what Grinch promised (except for B&K) and maybe my hope of it not being real was what convinced me when everyone else was so certain.

So the guy who retweeted Vee's post works at wayforward. I feel like that could just be a tease, or a joke, or just anything.

I would love to see Vee in smash, even if shes not shantae. Shes a great voice actor.

As for you guys saying nintendo should say something, Most fighting game season passes are slowly revealed over time. I think thats the best way to keep the hype going. However, i wouldn't mind if they show the reveal trailers with no gameplay early, and the gameplay trailers a few weeks or a month befor release.

However, I think if we will be getting a season 2, nintendo should have another ballot announced by E3, to give 6 months to decide the characters for the next round. Not going to say the top 5 should be automatically in, just use it as a guide.

My takes on it:

A) most likely scenario: they're just poking fun at how much rabid fans read into tweets from VAs
B) it's Shantae-related but not Smash-related
C) Shantae is coming to Smash (least likely in my opinion)
D) what I feel like is the outcome: Cristina doing VA work for something big (Smash or not Smash) and Adam's either cheering her on or involved as well

No way to tell at this point in time. Best to keep your expectations in check for now until more information comes out.

Personally, Shantae was never one of my most wanted but I always thought she would be a cool addition. She's cute and has a lot of potential for a unique moveset.

Goddamit! It was deleted? Ok, all i can say is, they need to play their cards carefully. Wayforward is very aware of the fan speculation and how we are paying attention to every little thing. I mean they received a certain amount of backlash when it was revealed that all the secrecy surrounding Shantae was just for two spirits. They should know not to stoke the flames when we are all so rabid to latch on to any little piece of speculation as possible.

Anyway, they are friends, so that just means Adam knows what she is up to, not that he himself (and by extension WayForward) is involved. That could very well just mean something as little as Edelgard being DLC and she has talked or hinted to him about it. It could just be him cheering her on.

Or perhaps she is under an NDA where she couldn;t even talk about it to him, so he could have made that post in jest as he was joining her other fans in hopeful speculation (I know I would want my friend to get into smash even if i knew it couldn't be as the character i helped make for her)

So, we can't jump the gun and say "our girl is Def in smash, spirits shmirits" but i think at this point it's a safe bet to say that Christina V is in Smash.

All of that said, we may be getting news soon. A leaker who has been right several times in the past has recently teased "13 is your lucky number" So news on the 13th might be a thing. Keep in mind, it might not be Nintendo news specifically. This guy has mainly leaked pokemon related news and the pokemon community is heavily anticipating news on Gen 8 sometime this month.

So it might just be the next gen tease, or it could be a direct that includes that tease. Not too long a wait to find out.

The leaker in question has said the 13th is a good day for a Direct...also the magic number comment was on a Direct speculation thread on ResetEra.
