It's probably already been pointed out here but more and more playable character spirits are being discovered. So far I believe spirits have been found for Daisy, Peach, Snake, Ridley, K. Rool, and Kirby. As time goes on, it seems to be becoming a more and more irrelevant point. Also, I'm sure you all noticed that Shantae's spirit stage has Zero Suit Samus. Notice what happened to Lip in comparison. I think this gives strong evidence that Shantae isn't a Mii costume either and is still on the table.

Oh oh oh another idea comes to my mind : Rotty being reprimanded by Shantae for yet another shenanigan in scuttle town.
While Shantae keeps talking, Rotty sees a bright light in the sky. Seeing the beam approaching and feeling the danger, she holds Shantae in her arms pretending to hug her. Shantae says "rottyyyyy" before Rotty turns her around and uses her as a shield. And then both of'em get hit ....

I still feel the sting of having Lyn and Krystal as Assist Trophies, they were some of my top picks (along with Shantae of course) T_T

The Elma support thread is still going strong, even though it seems like many doubt her chance at being DLC despite there being very little Xenoblade X content in the base game. Strangely enough Elma herself isn't there. Along with Shantae, Elma is a character I want in Smash, and I believe she has a good chance to appear In this game as DLC

I did point out the Mii costume thing, so yeah. :) Though I wouldn't have been too mad if she had a Mii Fighter costume.

I'd like to think shantae and shovel knight were together when the lights hit, and both tried to get on his little gear thing. However she knew it would be too slow, so she sacrifices herself by turning into an elephant to give him a boost. Shovel knight desperately tries to bring out his fishing rod to try and save her, but he is too late, for as he casts off the light engulfs her, and him soon after. That's how'd i Like to imagine it.

He now has to live with the regrets of not being able to save both Shield Knight, and Shantae...

So EarlTamm EarlTamm I actually did start thinking about the Wonble Bell scene in an animated format

After Shantae returns the dog (after she sarcastically says it’s not Chef Girl’s dog not realizing that was a mistake) and gets the food, she spots a rat stealing 100 gems and running around the Chef Girl’s kitchen. Shantae decides to kill it with her hair whip...but Wobble Bell decides to do the same thing and lunges for it. It would be jokingly censored so you don’t see the actual impact, but it just cuts to Wobble Bell being launched out if Chef Girls house while Shantae looks on in horror, and whistles out of the house while Chef Girl goes about her business blissfully unaware. We’d see him in the Pirate’s Curse season lost in the Village of Lost Souls where he comes across Rotty’s spirit after Shantae leaves and she decides to take care of him for now.

If you have any thoughts, let me know

You can't deny having the entire Shantae cast in the game as spirits would be pretty rad.

Honestly, it seems that Geno has become very unlikely at this point. o_O
Not impossible, but unlikely.

The reason I think that, is that I recently came to the knowledge that Square is mostly uncooperative.
They overprice their content for third-party use.
Hence Cloud's English VA being unused, only two FF-songs that aren't even remixes and Cloud not even appearing in any cinematic cutscenes...

And if that is true, I think this hurts Geno's chances significantly.
I wouldn't rule him out completely. But he has become an unlikely choice.

Yes, I know Sakurai wanted him ever since Brawl.
But if Square is being uncooperative, there is nothing he can do...

But by that logic, that makes him the most likely. Sakarai has already payed for the rights to use the character, proven by his brief cameo as an icon, so that's a non issue that only serves to hurt every other Square characters chances.

There might be a difference between using just a stock image, or an entire animated model...

Now here's a thought. If the opportunity presents itself in-game, which character would you use to rescue Shantae, and how do you head-canon the following conversation? Here's one of my ideas:

:ultdiddy:: Diddy: *monkey noises*
Shantae: "Huh? What are you trying to say?... Oh! I know!" *transforms into monkey* "Now, what were you saying?"
Diddy: "Whoa! You can turn into a monkey like me?! *ahem* Sorry, what I was asking was, are you a genie?"
Shantae: "Yes!... Well, half-genie anyway. How'd you guess?"
Diddy: "Oh, it's just the way you were dressed, kind of reminds me of a genie I know, who runs races. Kind of looks like an elephant"
Shantae: "Is that right? I can turn into one of those too! I'd very much like to meet this friend of yours one day!"

Tragically, I think its because Konami already has 2 characters and an echo, so the idea of them getting more seems unlikely to many.

I am pretty sure when you pay for the rights to use a character, you can use the character for whatever you want. And even if not, since they have already worked out things with Square related to the character, it would not be too difficult to work out a new deal with the character. It would certainly be more easy than having to go through two companies for Sora, pay the insane amount needed for a DQ character and everything else that comes with it, or go through the legal nightmare that is Chrono.
