...it's not practical....like at all. It's mostly used for baiting for counter strikes. It doesn't really work against anyone who uses TKD though since you know the strikes available from it. :/

now im curious, whats covered in the SF series, its a lot harder to tell than in a game like tekken.

Shotokan Karate: Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Gouken, Sakura(?) (Dan?)

Thai Kickboxing: Sagat

Boxing: Balrog, Dudley

Wrestling: Zangief

Jeet Kune Do: Fei Long

5 style Chinese martial arts (Im pretty sure thats not the actual name for it but you know what i mean, with crane, snake and tiger styles): Gen

Basic Karate: Makoto.

Sumo Wrestling: E. Honda

Mexican Masked Wrestling: El Fuerte.

It looks like a mixture of Piguaquan and Baijiquan. The first being a choppy style and the latter being mostly countering elbow strikes. If I had list the most important chinese martial arts they'd be Baijiquan, Jeet Kune Do, Tai Xi Quan(or Tai Chi Chuan) and the animal styles. The animal styles are more stance based to get different angles and use Piguaquan and Baijiquan strikes.
