IIRC, I asked about the dropdown list before, and it allegedly can't be changed.

can't mods check edit history anyway? would that history just not show up until the Last Edited: line shows up, or what?

Doesn't really seem like that big of a deal, honestly.
People are rarely gonna see a post within the first 2 minutes of it being posted unless a thread is unusually active by a large degree anyway.
And even then, the chances of that person being offended or even caring are extremely slim.

It wasn't just a 'in case someone does ___', it was because people had started to abuse it to post porn, racist comments, ect, then quickly edit it out.

Why are posts not enabled in DGames? Posts there seem to take a bit more work than the average post, especially in mafia.

If there's a good reason, I don't mind.
Good question.

can't the code be changed to like "if under 2 minutes and not a mod"? I mean the warning/infract buttons only show up for mods too

I think it's a settings change, rather than a code change, in this case.

I think the problem is fundamental and cannot be solved by changing the time available to edit without being noticed

If the time available is 10 seconds, I really don't think anyone will see a ninja edit.

Do you think you can read your post through, click the edit button, correct your mistake and click save in 10 seconds?

also, 0.2 minutes is 12 seconds

Not quite sure how to word this, but allow someone to quote a post that already contained quotes, and have everything preserved...allow quotes nested in each other automatically, and don't remove them.
This bothers me in Mafia games, since I have to go through and add in each quote that got clipped out.

Something like this...

I quote someone,

...and then someone who quotes me, who also wants Dummy1's quote, would not have it auto-removed.

Is it a big deal if I can't?
Well doesn't it make the whole ninja editing worthless? I mean, the lower the value the less likely it can even be used for its purpose. The longer time the longer it is able to be abused.

The problem lies in the system. Its not so much "how long" but rather that someone is breaking the rules and moderators can't detect it. For example, I could make a script that posts a picture of a penis and says "suck my **** you fat *****" and then changes it to something totally fine like "this thread is getting out of hand" before the time runs out. Thanks to the live thread feature (which is awesome) everyone who is on the page will see the picture for the duration of the ninja edit.

If the system could be changed to hide edit notifications without hiding the history of the post, I think everyone would be for it.

Who's actually going to see that before it's edited out?

Even if someone has the page open they're likely going to be doing something in a different tab/window and the chances of them switching back in time are miniscule.

And even then they might only see it for a split second or something.

People are making too big of a deal about this imo.

Yeah and it shouldn't be allowed to whip my **** out in public. I mean, people are probably busy doing their own thing and probably wouldn't notice. And even if they did itd only be for a second.

I don't mind if you whip out your **** in an appropriate analogy, like a back alley where I am not in.

Next year, lower the size of the meta vamps. They're blocking the links due to it.

I can barely click on things.

In order to see the size, CRL+A.

My Metaknight just sits in the top left corner all the time. I forget he's there.

Personally, I think people are making a bigger deal about having 'last edited by' on their posts.

Well, no, because this is what we have to work with.

oh right, I forgot vBulletin worked through setting menus rather than PHP editing. well that's too bad then, guess I'll just hide the "edited" line for myself then.
