That's not it, though, that's something I need to look at over the uni holidays when I get there.

Moose, pools by and large were very quickly completed and on schedule. The real time killer was the final brackets, in particular, the losers brackets and any grand final sets. Most final series were maxed out to 3 full sets of 5 games which adds on the extra hour or two. In other words, the tournament was much bigger than the schedule had scoped for.
If anyone wants an in-depth analysis of how 100+ man events work (240 in total for BAM), feel free to talk to me.

Anthony I definately think you have to sort out the schedule and provide some ideas for accomodation for this. Seems to be getting a fair bit of interest extremely quickly.
Also need to sort out a social event like cao did with dodgeball. Something that doesn't cost money is a good idea i.e. maybe a game of cricket or football at the beach or something. Might be hard for some to access it though.
Dunno what good free things there are to do in the city.
If you make a solid plan like cao did with Rocky this could get enough interest as a national. I doubt it will be as hype as Rocky but it can still be hyped as a national should be.

All valid concerns, and all things I said I'd address a while ago.
But then Uni hit me like a brick.
I have a list of accomodation near the venue, and have info on transport and the like.
Also, it's a sports stadium, I'm sure we can figure something out. lol.

can u just sleep there overnight? I ask coz reloaded is held in a sporting venue too (4 indoor basketball courts) and people just sleep there, even if its a little difficult. Especially since as Arrow said, Gold Coast accomodation prices are gonna be through the roof at that time period and would pretty much determine whether I can come or not.

You're better off looking for brisbane accomodation then, brisbane is generally cheaper than gold coast anyway so you will be saving money. If you can't find someone to house you, I'd suggest looking up bris. I might do a search later on to find some cheap hotels in brisbane.

Most of the guys are just casuals that play alot. I think there may be a couple that are good, but even I and my team last time did a bit of damage, and I barely play FPS.

Aussierob - Dodgeball and Smash just seems to work so well together. Maybe it's because we were all taught how to play it in Primary school and takes no skill to play so it's not intimidating to anyone
The next coolest thing would be Soccer, but that takes way more skill - we all can't be defenders <3

Oh yeah Cao I agree btw, It's hard to think of something to top dodgeball. I was thinking that a beach outing would be best idea, or beach dodgeball but its so hard to get people from bris to the beach with tournament hours organised. If there was an extra day then maybe.
Guess dodgeball or soccer is the way to go then? Or a game of frisbee, that's always fun.
