Reverae hyphen usmash is too easy, Fino is just trolling. :3
nah Dajay, it's not really a reverse hyphen, if by that you mean dashing the other way and usmashing. You just turn around and usmash in place

edit: @Fino: if you just did the quarter circle without c-stick or a, you'd jump, so you're canceling that into usmash

I know what you mean. Dashing in a direction and usmash facing the direction you dashed from, right?

It's the exact same procedure as a RAR, except you perform an usmash to cancel your jump.

yea, that's the ticket :) I don't RAR much, didn't notice it was the same directional input

Grabbing is pretty hard to do. That Z button is so skinny and it's too close to the R button. You could change the controls, but then you'd need to sacrifce X or Y jumping so then you could only grab and not jump. :/

Guys...I can't believe I'm saying this, and I sort of hate myself for it...but I think I'm finally biting the bullet and accepting that I need to train a pocket Metaknight  Not secondary. No. But still...pocket

**** I don't wish he wasn't in the game, I just wish he wasn't so overpowered

And nice game PS :)

For which matchups. And don't worry we won't be mad at you. It just means that you aren't a true Olimar main anymore. :bluejump:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
But really, are you telling me you haven't learned to play him? And I'm not sure about the mus yet (most likely Luigi at least), I've just decided after getting thrown across the stage like a ragdoll for the 1000th time that it's hard to ignore the options of having such a powerful option.

Also, you were just social post #3,333
:3

And unrelated question: I've figured out what makes dodge rolls better or worse than one another, but how can a character have a bad air dodge or spot dodge?

You're still new, Vocal. You have a long way to go with both Olimar and Brawl in general. You don't need a pocket Meta Knight, but if you want it to make things easier, that's fine. Keep in mind that you're going to find fewer and fewer reasons to use Olimar, the better your Meta Knight gets, though.

But yeah, you're going to be thrown around like a rag doll millions of times. That isn't because you're playing Olimar. It's because you're new to the competitive scene, and still have several steps to take before you reach the height of your potential.

Edit: I'll get in the chat later, not able to atm.

Well first, I'd never go so far as to use him when I don't need to; I want to be proud of my accomplishments, and I just couldn't be if I did it with MK :chuckle:

And maybe you're right. I'm never going to let myself become one of those people that abandons my main for the winged demon. I guess I should just give myself some more time and suck it up for the time being

Oh, and you just missed an AMAZING cow video in the chat :)

I'm coming soon Fino, I just need to create this thread.

And yes Vocal, getting into a fighting game competitively for the first time is difficult. Even with MK you will still be thrown around. Though you will probably improve faster with him. Just keep in mind that using MK is like using pot. You can get addicted very easily.

I feel like you two are my parents XD Still, I hear what you're saying...I think I'll stay away from him for now, at least until I get Oli where I want him to be. Then i'll pick MK up for funsies :) Unless he's banned by then (please God yes)

ur dodges are bad if there are too many vulnerability frames during the dodge, or if the dodge animation takes too long.

also, i don't have a pocket MK, never trained one, used one in friendlies, but its far worse then a few of my other secondaries. ROB & Olimar have always been tru to me :]

boss told me he doesn't think he will ever beat me with luigi again.... thus mk's not needed if you learn your mu's

now to get marth and Mk on that status :s

Interesting, so why do they differ?

MK just depresses me :( The game would be SO much better without him, or even a less powerful version of him. Since he is here, we have all this debate about whether he should be banned or not, or whether this or that technique has to be banned. And at the end of the day you just have to suck it up, accept that the community isn't ready to ban him, accept that it may never be, and continue to play ball with "da bess."

I've been following an MK discussion thread lately, so maybe that's where all of this is coming from. Still, I just dream of how great this game could be if he weren't in it...I sound like a scrub, but it's the truth...

I dunno, i can never have a pocket MK. A lot of people will disagree with me, but some people just can't play MK as good as their mains. Any half decent player regardless of mu wud put up a decent fight against my MK. Only crappy players would surely lose. So why would i use MK?

its 2010... everyone should have a Mk. I have one for double Mk, Mk + counter character in teams, and for Mk/ices in singles. I almost never use my Mk, but its there and always trained

I use Mk in singles maybe one round every month, so almost never, but I still practice him cause I know it will be needed from time to time
