As I keep saying to people, working hard in year 12 fosters valuable study habits. It conditions you for doing well at Uni. You can't just magically decide you're going to go awesome at Uni if it's not a habitual thing for you to study.

That's what I believe anyway, and I've seen the results for myself.

It also depends on how much you like your course.

I got 99.20 for my HSC, which is pretty high compared to others in my Optometry course. But since the fracking course is a disorganised mess (and boring!) I refuse to put 100% into it and I'm now (marks wise) one of the dumbest T_T

I'm transferring out to something better ASAP :D



PS: I support race crew battles. Smash can easily host a 5v5 Asians vs Caucasians population. Would be super fun.

anyway Dave would probably still be interested in melee, he does come to play melee at tourneys often (even though no one else wants to ) And hybrid is all into SF4 at the moment so idk, havent seen him play a smash tourney in months.

fyi, Smash probably won't be able to run in OHN8 - their dates don't work well for us.

I was really looking forward to driving up to Sydney again, meeting up with friends and playing SF3 and Smash. It was pretty much the highlight of the year for me and I was really looking forward to going again.

If Smashers wanted to be a part of OHN8 they should have done something about it, like vote on the Ozhadou poll for a more appropriate date, like the same time last year (December) since October is now snatched by this event.

The vote turnout for something other than July was non-existent. We can't do July because of Genesis, which puts both TO's out of contention, and that's what the OHN community voted for. We have the numbers to overturn the vote, but the Smash Community isn't very proactive in any decision-making process, so whose fault is that?

I wish I'd known about this voting business. We could easily combine our votes to any date we want. When you said that we have the numbers to overturn the vote, do you mean it would have been possible before, or that we still have the capability to alter the date?

We certainly present an opportunity for them to make a significant amount of money

We would need about 30 votes to get the swing we need for a December OHN8 date. If the Australian Smash Community is prepared to vote for it I can make a separate thread for it to get their attention.

If you read Ziggy's last post in that thread, he says he's close to setting a date based on the current voting pattern, so if we're gonna vote, I'll give him a heads up.

Got a response from FAB today, they're going ahead with a July date, so no OHN8 confirmed for Smash. Just focus your attention on Rocky instead.
