Don't buy a 360 just for this game.
Where did your signature come from? Some sort of ToS anime I don't know about?

I have a question. Would anyone else but me consider buying the GH:WT drum kit and use it for Rock Band 2?

I know the Rock Band 2 kit had external cymbals that you can buy, but I those don't have their own notes associated with them, and I'm not sure that I'd even hit them, without it being necessary to the game, as I'm not that good.

Yeah, I saw that before.

The inclusion of character creation and online play is all well and good, but DLC is still a (large) problem. Even if RB2 will be capable of allowing the purchasing of new songs, I just can't see a way around the Wii's massive lack of space.

"Ok, so I've just bought a 3-song pack on the Wii. Now my memory's full. But wait, I want the Moving Pictures album too! NOOOOOOO! WHY HAS GOD FORSAKEN MEEEEE?"

Unless Nintendo has announced an external hard drive for the Wii and I just missed the memo, the DLC issue is not solved.

And for the record, yeah, I'm also pretty geek'd about the cymbals.

You should be, if you plan on getting it for the Wii.

I bought an Xbox 360 SPECIFICALLY because the Wii version of Rock Band was going to be gimped to hell. If you really want the game badly enough, I would suggest doing the same. If you don't have the money, then I would still advise against buying the Wii version. I don't think it'll be worth your money.
that's why I'm just getting GH:WT instead. DLC for wii has been confirmed. I already have two guitars and a friend of mine is getting the wii version as well.

You guys and your fascination with cymbals. I'll never understand it.
Hm, say the guitar controller was a GH Carabiner-esque controller, or just played on a 360 controller or something. A bit extreme, but I'm sure you could see how taking away the "realism" (using quotes because how real can fake plastic instruments can be) of the controller could diminish the experience.

So, when people see GH:WT's set, and the RB2 gotta-pay cymbals, you really can't understand at least a little bit why people would be interested in playing a dedicated, physical representation of a cymbal instead of just a nondescript, ever changing circle. It's just that little extra that makes the experience that much better. You and others obviously are fine with the RB drumset, and that's perfectly fine, but is this cymbal thing really that crazy?

One thing I don't like about the cymbal representation is that how will the pull of a sequence of 4 tom rolls?(aka runn to the hills). on RB, cicles are placed so it fell natural, but goin circle, cymbal circal, cymbal would feel wierd. up down up down.:psycho:mabey I am just picky.

Remo - For cymbals that don't behave like cymbals at all, yes. Yes it is. The only way they're like cymbals is they're elevated. That's it.

My point exactly. Elevated, yes, just like real cymbals. It's not the biggest deal in the world, but it gives it (or at least, gives me) that extra lil' something that I'm going to appreciate.

More companies should add elevated pieces to old products to give them that extra pizazz!

*shakes head* Whatever, man. I know I've started a lot of dumb videogame bickering, but I was trying really hard to be civil & non-argumentative. Your lame, tired brand of sarcasm tells me that I won't be getting the same treatment.

eh I kinda got the same feeling. It seems like you just really despise Guitar Hero.

But I did laugh, so its all in good fun.

That was exactly my point for buying the GH:WT drum kit. The Rock Band 2 cymbals won't really add anything, but to me it seems that the Guitar Hero cymbals will somewhat play like real ones.

Maybe I'm just ignorant.

If the cymbals looked like actual cymbals, bounced around when you played them and were made of some sort of material that could emulate cymbal crash noises, sure, you're onto something that will make it feel more like an actual drum set. But when all they are is a hovering pad that has the same feel as the other pads, only behind a couple inches higher, I find it completely pointless.

I guess that's what the old saying "To each his own" is for, eh? Personally, hitting an elevated pat that sits there and reacts like an elevated pad gives me a cymbal-esque feeling all the same as if it were to bounce around and go crash.

Anyone know ANYWHERE info on RB: Japan can be found that extends beyond "we're making it"?

Edit: I'm assuming that if I can create a female plug splitter for the bass pedal on the RB1 set (seems feasible and the frame certainly has room) I can have a double bass set...right? Right?

More importantly, why hasn't Harmonix does this with the Ion set??

More importantly, why doesn't the Rock Band 2 or Guitar Hero World Tour drum set have a pedal for the hi-hat? >:C

And my GameStop swears they don't get it until Sunday. They totally have it in the back room. >:C

Double angry post.

Meh, the guy playing on Easy was pretty good, considering it was his first time ever playing a Rhythm game. EVER.

The guy with the Panic Attack Video has some more vids of RB 2, including some FC's.

In Rock Band 1 and 2, as well as in GHWT, you play hi-hat notes with your sticks, usually hitting the yellow pad. On an actual drum set, you play the hi-hat with a pedal. It's something that's far more important for getting the feel of a realistic drum set rather than something like cymbals.

After seeing the charts for Battery, Painkiller, and Panic Attack, I'm pretty sure I'll stop complaining about how RB isn't hard enough. Good stuff.

Ohhhhh.
It's the thing that kinda looks like two cymbals that hit eachother?
Correct?
