ARMS predictions

• I'm still going with my theory that the character will be Spring Man with 3 alts. I was starting to doubt this since the tweets imply there will only be one character but PapaGenos pointed out that Nintendo may have referred to Hero as "one character" in his most recent video. So you know what, I've been backing this up since the beginning and I will be by its side until the bitter end.
• Stage: Not sure so I will go with Spring Stadium.
• Music: Since this is a first party game and we got 11 tracks for Byleth, I don't think it's a reach to say that we could get all 15 character's themes plus the main theme. If not, at least 10 tracks plus the main theme. I can't wait to hear "OoooOOOOoOoo" while playing as Spring Man fighting Duck Hunt, Wii Fit Trainer, Joker and Simon on Hanenbow. Man what a game.
• Spirits: At least all of the fan favorites and major characters will get one plus Biff.
• Mii costumes - God knows what this will entail except probably first party characters and I'm expecting probably a new deluxe Mii costume.
• Trailer - A sequel to Ken/Incineroar trailer. Once Incineroar wins against Ken, a stretching arm suddenly appears and knocks Incineroar off his feet. The camera then shows the fighters feet and tilts up to show Spring Man. Spring Man Stretches For Victory! Or something like that. After that, Spring Man KOs Incineroar but then gets hit by another stretching arm. It's Ribbon Girl! Then eventually Min Min and one other character, maybe Ninjara or Max Brass, joins the fray! The trailer will end with them punching each other and their arms connect in the middle for a shockwave.
• Sakurai will shown off the next wave of Amiibo, including Joker and a 4 pack of all Heroes.

ARMS Predictions

I'm not so excited for this presentation, so here's some predictions I'm throwing out.

-Sakurai starts the presentation with him pressing the record button on and then doing his intro where he speaks about the affects the pandemic has had on the team and how hard they're currently working on DLC
-Lola Pop is revealed to be the ARMS rep in the goofiest way possible
-Sakurai reaffirms Lola Pop is indeed the character chosen and gives us a wholesome message about clowns providing smiles to faces all around the world
-Sakurai will demonstrate the gimmick of ARMS by showing us how far Lola Pop can throw a punch compared to Little Mac
-The Classic Mode will involve a stretch pun
-All other ARMS characters will make cameos on the stage
-4 Mii Costumes and 1 Mii Hat will be revealed: Dragonborn Costume (Skyrim), Biff Hat (ARMS), Guile Costume (Street Fighter), Bison Costume (Street Fighter), and the Knight Costume with a bonus track (Hollow Knight)
-Sakurai will say "It might be awhile until we are ready to reveal the next character" in the last quarter of the presentation
-Presentation ends with Sakurai turning off the webcam
-Unrelated to the presentation, a bunch of twitter accounts will post clown memes on everyone thinking it was gonna be Springman or Min Min

That's pretty much it. If most of what I predicted ends up being true, I'll change my pfp to Lola Pop with the color scheme of the Joker whenever I can find 1.

I don't know enough about the actual ARMS stages, so I can't predict that much;

-It's going to be pretty much one character(no Echoes), regardless of alts or not. Most likely Spring Man with a Springtron alt. I doubt a Ribbon Girl alt, but it is not impossible.
-Sakurai is clearly going to do some stretching or spring-like puns. Maybe a boing here or there(in an appropriate fashion).
-5 Mii costumes again, with possibly 1 returning. I'm thinking one Premium costume, but it's not an Indie this time.
-He's not going to talk about how long before the next presentation is, but he'll note why it took so long for this one.
-If it's Spring Man, he won't really talk about the whole AT factor much outside of "it's disabled when he's playable", since it'd leave speculation more open if he was vague about the situation otherwise. So saying "it's the only one" doesn't help.
-All the characters will have Spirits at the end of it, meaning a large spirit board.
-I can't really say anything about the music and stage, other than I expect cameos and maybe a stage hazard. Possibly Twintelle and others.
-...Fulgore Deluxe Costume. Didn't think of it till today. May not count cause of how late the edit is, but. Still, the music is worth it.

Both Springman and Ribbons Girl's unique mechanics are already in the game(rage and a double jump respectively) so I can see them managing to fit together in a multiple fighters in one deal. Springtron is obviously just Springman as a robo so he fits as an alt anyway.

ARMS stage is a changing stadium. Dr. Coyle, Max Brass, Biff, Min Min and Twintelle stage cameos.

-Stage will be Spring Stadium featuring other ARMS characters as background cameos like Terry's stage.

-Sakurai will discuss how it wasn't hard to promote Spring Man as an assist pointing out to how some are disabled on certain stages like Alucard, Knuckles and the Moon as well as saying how the same character can appear at once comparinginFinal Smash and one of victory animations.

-He will then talk and show how Spring Man plays before doing an Classic Mode.

-My Mii Costume Predictions:

ARMS Direct Predictions

I'll be honest, I still haven't decided who the rep will be. However, if it turns out to be Spring Man, I expect SOMETHING that'll poke fun at the Assist Trophy (i.e. his trailer is basically Terry's trailer, but with Assist Trophies). Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Sakurai FINALLY acknowledged the situation with Assist Trophies, as well as clarify whether this is the exception or the new standard. In any case, whoever the character is will have their main stage as the new stage, with whatever tournament rule-breaking gimmicks it may have. I'm also expecting at least one returning Mii costume from 4 (leaning towards Heihachi) and MAYBE another Premium costume. Finally, while I don't think they'll backtrack and say who the next character is anyway, I DO expect some sort of clarification with this new Pass. Maybe some rough dates or something? I don't know.

I'll keep my own predictions vague, since I find these things hard to predict in detail. For the character, I think our frontrunners are (in decreasing likelihood) Min Min and Spring Man, while the Hero situation is however also still a legitimate option. Another Mii costume similar to Sans and Cuphead is just about a given I think, considering how well received these were in the past.
Oh yeah, and here's a prediction that I'm really pretty certain on: There will be absolutely no information on FP7, not even a release window. This presentation will focus entirely on the new ARMS character, and that's it.

ARMS Predictions
Twintelle is the one I think has the highest chance. Min Min is possible too. I think Nintendo's goal here is to appeal to their target playerbase while adding a popular character from a new series. I can see the mascots happening like with any other series, i understand why they could happen, but part of me is skeptical of that being Nintendo's intent here.
I think we might get Brawler only Mii costumes this time. Since the game is all about punching it would make sense as a theme. I don't know if they're going for random costumea again this time.
The next reveal will be confirmed to arrive between September 1st and October 30th. Three to four months seems like a safe bet.

Min-Min Satisfaction rating

I somewhat knew that Min-Min would get in due to her popularity, but she is a fun choice of a character.

The Trailer is quite fun, with quite a bit of surprises in store. Min-Min has tons of potential and chances to take opponents down in cool ways.

The Mii Costumes are fun. I'm surprised that Vault Boy got in as a Mii Costume, that and Heihachi is returning as a Mii Costume.

The new features will be a fun idea, that and Mii Costumes replacing some fighters in battles is something I did not see coming.

Overall, it was a fun direct

Satisfaction rating time? Alright. For me, this is a 100% satisfaction rating. While I never really played ARMS myself, based on everything I've seen of the cast, Min Min is my favourite character, so I'm happy that she made it in and actually received the full spotlight. Her being the first exclusively famous female DLC character that Smash Ultimate also helps quite a bit. The Mii costume kill list didn't really get any characters that I particularly care for, so I'm not too miffed by Heihachi or anything from Fallout (or potentially Bethesda period). I still won't get any of this new DLC just yet, since I want to wait and see if I want to get the entire pass, but I'll have to say that Min Min is already very tempting.

And I was right in that we'd get zero information on FP7, not even a release window. Now begins the wait.

That being said I think I'll like playing as Min Min. I'm good with her being the choice. Moveset is a bit different and she'll probably be fairly hard at first.

Stage and music are what they should be. Not much else to say on those. No info on Classic mode or spirits

The Joker and Hero Amiibos look nice

The one week wait is a bit of a bummer but oh well.

All the Mii Costumes looked good. Vault Boy was a big surprise and Heihachi falling is a big RIP for him and maybe even the rest of Bandi Namco. Wouldnt be shocked if Lloyd and Monster Hunter were getting costumed again soon. No deluxe mii costumes though so my theory of them only happening every other one is looking more likely.

Overall going 60%. Not over the moon hyped or anything but it's a solid pack

min min is one of my favourite fighters from arms so 100%, spring stadium looks great, ninjara's outfit looks great, squid sisters ones are great as well, tekken is meh and vault boy actually took me by surprise. nice set of music and all those spirit things look good as well. and dead pleased to know dlc fighters are getting amiibo, b&k and min min are insta buys for me

Pure Winner (Hard Confirmed): Min-Min! She is the fighter of Challenger Pack 6. Debatably, as we acted under the assumption that Spring Man was the protagonist of ARMS, you could say a character who isn't the protagonist or face of the game is confirmed as well.

General Winners (Likelier): Every base game Spirit is back on the table. This puts first parties in a far better position than before, with characters such as Paper Mario, Bandana Waddle Dee, and even some third parties like Rayman or Shantae. Non-protagonists or characters from series with ambiguous protagonists are much likelier, though Sans (the only character who would've majorly benefited from this) is already a Mii. You could say Scorpion, but I think that's stretching it a bit.

Pure Losers (Out of the Running): All ARMS characters who are not Min-Min. Min-Min uses her ARMS "1" design (since it's her ONLY design...) and is by herself, so ARMS 2 rep and ARMALGAMATION are both no more. Had their something-something minutes of fame, and now they are going to retire in the dustbin of lost glory. Heihachi was in serious consideration for roster speculation, but in the end his Mii Costume returned. Ninjara, Callie, Marie and Vault Boy are also Mii Costumes but weren't as prominent as Heihachi.

General Losers (Less likely): Since Spring Man didn't make the cut, Assist Trophies seem like they're in a very bad position. Mii Costumes as well, since it was neither Spring Man nor Ribbon Girl. While Spring Man's base game content wasn't referenced in why he wasn't chosen (just that he's not the protagonist per se, and it was requested by Yabuki-san to be Min-Min), it does reflect poorly on these forms of content, so it's quite probable that Mii or higher form of content (a model) is disqualifying to most people. [Though I think a certain boy from a game that starts with X will be widely accepted as the exception.] With the return of Spirits, third parties (and first parties with no presence in game) in general face far more competition, so they might range from slightly less likely to completely obsoleted by a Nintendo rep.

Min-Min Satisfaction: 65%. (50% because I don't care about ARMS that much so I'm just glad the wait for 6 is over, 10% because Arle made no presence in her Mii selection, 5% because the fallout from it being Max Brass or another non-Spirit was avoided).

Overall I think the stuff is pretty good, though. I'm just worn out from the wait. While the stage looks great, I'm surprised they didn't just go with the Ramen Bowl. Why pick Spring Man's stage when Min-Min literally has one of her own? The trailer was way more theatrical than I'd expected, I thought it was gonna be a simple machinima trailer like Smash 4 DLC or Piranha Plant.

Don't have much to say here because, again, not ARMS fan. This isn't my thing, that's fine. But I have a question. What's Min-Min's Fighter Spirit, and how does it interact with the Spirit of her currently present in the game? I don't think this was answered, so I'll have to wait a week to find out.

Challenger Pack 7 would have been the E3 reveal, or one of them. Let's see who it is... whenever.

Pretty fun Direct. I give it an 85% satsifaction.

• Trailer was great. I sort of wish they didn't have the ramen bit at the very beginning though since it was a dead giveaway that it was Min Min, but I loved everything else about it.
• While I was hoping for Ribbon Girl, Min Min looks really fun. A great representation of ARMS so I'm glad she got picked.
• Mii Costumes look great. Shame that Heihachi is done for but that Vault Boy costume is hilarious.
• Assist Trophies are still in the running since Sakurai said he added Min Min due to her being a request and other reasons. He didn't say anything like "it couldn't be Spring Man since he's an AT." Granted I'm not as hopeful in them as I would've been if it were Spring Man, but I don't think they're dead yet.
• With Min Min confirmed, the "spirits deconfirm" fan rule is 100% dead. Rex, Dixie Kong, and a ton of other popular characters have just had their metaphorical shackles removed from them.

Overall while I was never really an ARMS fan, I'm pretty satisfied with how this went.

Spring Man was the poster boy and main character. I supported him since I first laid eyes on him, only for him to get shafted due to Yabuki's bias. I hope Min Min gets cut next game, forget "Everyone is here". She doesn't use anyone else's ARMS. No Spirit board. DLC characters didn't even get a reference besides Max Brass and stage themes. And then they added insult to injury to Spring Man fans.

Min Min for the Win Win

If you can't tell by the sig, Min Min was my most wanted ARMS character. A fantastic trailer and She looks fun. Also Spirits are oficially no longer deconfirms and nothing that I particularly wanted to see seems to have been deconfirmed (Maybe Tekken, but so far it looks like it's just Heihachi). June 29th can't come soon enough.

But we didn't see Sakurai's Cat which makes this a trash presentation.

Min Min Reaction

Satisfaction: 99%.

Well. That was cool. I'll admit that my hype for Min Min is less then it would have been had we not had such a long time to speculate about what ARMS character it would be. When I first wanted her, she felt like a pipe-dream in comparison to Spring Man, but she's been considered a frontrunner for so long that the excitement wasn't quite as mind-blowing as it could have been. The ARMS announcement was a fun change to speculation for these past months, but I'm honestly not sure I'd want them to do a series announcement like it again.

Min Min's trailer was amazing visually and I like Captain Falcon and Kirby eating ramen, but I really don't like the trend of making trailers based on the idea of "Who will get the envelope!". It just makes me feel bad for the characters shown trying and failing to get into Smash Bros.

Min Min's gameplay seems like a fantastic way to recreate the feeling of ARMS. I like all of the unique mechanics in premise and can't wait to try her out. Getting 18 songs is fantastic too and I really dig both of the remixes we heard.

I like the Mii Costumes, though Heihachi not coming with Terry only to come with the ARMS fighter is a bit of a tease. I also was really hoping one of them would come with music, to the point where I'm knocking 1 percent off my satisfaction because of that...

Joker's amiibo looks tight. I'm glad they've figured out a way to make his pose work in figure format without having terrible yellow poles holding him up. The seemingly-singular Hero is a bit anticlimatic, but I like Eleven well enough.

Hopefully visually seeing spirits be upgraded and Sakurai indicate he could have chosen Spring Man (thereby implying AT status is not a concern) is enough to shake-up speculation a bit...
