Even though I didnt understand a word of the song, I was still able to get into it. The jam at the song is just amazing and the drummer in this song is just sick. This song has a tremendous feel to it and it's obvious that the band is very skilled.

These kinds of songs always bug me. I hate getting nagged at to pay attention to lyrics instead of the music.

The instrumental aspect is really cool and relaxing. Funnily enough, I would love to hear the song without any of the words in it. I also don't like how the guy isn't even really singing, but he's also not really rapping. He's just talking.

5/10. Good music but don't like the vocals or the message.

I can't get to this >_>. His throat must hurt a lot. It was fairly enjoyable until the singing started. I like the music in this genre, but the singing always ruins the songs for me. Either I don't even understand what they're saying, it just sounds bad, or it doesn't really mean anything to me. What I did like was the part after 5 minutes, with the accordeon sounds :p. +1 for that. I enjoyed the intros and outros.

6/10 for music, but it sounds generic for the most part, like I could tune in any other metal/grunge/scream (don't hate me, I'm not familiar with the genre) and hear the same.

I assure you Between the Buried and Me are not like most metal bands...I am not the biggest fan of them, for I never gave them more than a few legitimate listens, but they are good, and I kind of want to listen to them more.

On to your song... Honestly, it would have been far less entertaining without the video..which was awesome. The actual song is a 6-7/10. It was good, it just lacked something to reel me in. I actually like the atmosphere that the percussion helps make.

Gogol Bordello - Baro Foro

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vi9yVjurZjc

Note: My life will not be complete until I see Gogol play Baro Foro...they didn't play it the last 2 times I saw them...I can only hope for next time =]

Gogol Bordello are great on recording, but they are the most amazing thing live...in th world..everyone is dancing, pushing shoving, more dancing...its raw chaos, cept with fun as the main influence lol.

Someone please get me a translation on the lyrics, because the first part of the verse was totally lost to me.

Good lord, a 9 minute song. Not a fan of these unless you're listening to them "unconsciously" like doing work or in the background of a party. Not something I'd put in my car solely because of the fact I'm aware of how repetitive it can get.

I don't listen to much Spanish music, but it sounds pretty standard to me for a spanish cultural song. Typical guitar playing during the verses, and the choruses having the violin, horns, etc. Nevertheless, I found this strangely to be catchy. It has a good cultural vibe, but I do hope the other songs have some more diversity in their use. I loved the electric guitar around the 3:30 mark. It was a nice modern touch. Overall though, it was just too repetitive for a standard everyday listen. Wouldn't mind it at a party though. At least it doesn't get annoying like Kanye's Runaway.

6/10

One of my all time fav songs. A very good rapper making a friendly song.

damn, it's been a long time since the days where I thought 9 minutes was long for a song.

anyways, I know this Nas track backwards and forwards. I remember how overplayed it got back in the day. The chorus is pretty cheesy but the song has a really true and uplifting message, and it's not something enough rap artists do.

Sampling Fur Elise is pretty cliche though

6.5/10 - nowhere near one of Nas' greatest songs but it's listenable and something good for the kids.

I liked it. The singer was meh, but he definitely fit the style. The intro was great, and so was the accordian and horn lines.

I loved it, hah. I am a fan of those ambient musics that really set a mood. From 23 seconds onward is what really made me enjoy the song. Also liked the beat of the drums.

Fin - Anberlin
7/10

I liked the song. The chorus was good. The singer is good. Despite everything being good...I was expecting to be blown away in epicness...but that didn't happen so it constituted a 7. I actually sang an Anberlin song in voice lessons once. I didn't know them at the time....and still barely do.

This is incredible! Reminds me a bit of Mr. Bungle, but still a very different sound. I like everything about this. The circus-sounding instrumentation, the opera vocals, especially love the brass at the end. I'm going to have to check out this band.

@Palpi, I'm sorry dude, but I have seen Gogol Bordello live playing that song! It was awesome :D

Maybe I shouldn't be reviewing this song because I'm slightly biased. I appreciate Radiohead, but I can never seem to like or 'get' them. It's just all a bit too floaty and ambient sounding for me. From what I understand, they always want to put some message in their songs and that is great, but when I listen to them, they never make me believe them. Anyway, I had to get that out of the way. Regardless of all this, I actually kinda enjoyed the one you posted and will give it a 7/10. The beat was nice and even though it was a bit floaty and stuff, it didn't really bother me that much this time.

Ok, I'm gonna go ahead and be cliche and post one of the more accessible songs from Pink Floyd:

Love this song, its just one of those songs where the riff just gets to me lol. One of the first bands that I first truly appreciated the idea of concept albums.

Periphery - All New Materials

This is another one of those riffs that gets to me. The singer could be better, but at least he fits the music imo.

I was digging the beginning. Though singing wise, it got a bit annoy around the 1 minute mark. I think he's better suited to sing like he did in the first 30 seconds then at the other parts (not the screaming). Gotta know your limits.

Screamo, not a lover, but not a hater. I just get annoyed if it's too much at once. It wasn't so excessive in this song. It had its parts, but that's it.

Some of these guitar riffs are indeed good. Though at the same time, I feel like they try too hard a few times rather then sticking with the overall rhythm of the song. I particularly didn't like the guitar riffs and how they went with the screaming parts. Just seemed like they could have done something else there to make it go together.

A very soothing and welcoming end to the song. Very nice touch.

6/10. Though that may just change mainly cause I didn't bother paying attention to the lyrics or reading them up.

The production was pretty good. His message was good, and I really try giving rap a chance, but it feel like if rap isn't part of some sick genre meld, I lose interest fairly fast.

I have not listened to that song yet, but I've noticed that despite most of my music being of the rock variety, top of my top 3 artists are rappers. I think there's something genuine about a rapper who can create some interesting beats, samples, and mix it all together with some deep rhymes and good flow. I just don't see that depth in rock as much as I used too.

This is cool. I think this style of music really relies on the strength of the vocals. This band doesn't disappoint me in that regard. I really like the guy's voice and diversity.

But the music is really cool as well. I am reminded of many other bands, but this songs takes all those familiar sounds and makes something unique with it.

just finished listening to the song for the fifth time cause it just sounds awesome. I love how he is able to build up a tense feeling quickly for example at 4:00. So that was pretty awesome. The only part i did not like was the very beginning just did not fit me i guess. Other than i really loved that song. I am terrible at ranking but i guess i would give it 9/10.

I was pleasantly surprised, I'm not usually a metal fan but I liked it a lot, especially the intro.

Gustav Holst - Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nz0b4STz1lo
now that's an epic song right there. I kinds want it on my future combo video lol, it goes from having this over-the-top epicness to this random cheesy kids show montage happiness that is well executed and transitioned back into a melody that reminds me of adventure movies. It goes on even further into different moods, its like a full-length movie within itself! It really is beautiful. 9/10

aw man, I remember this song! this reminds me of high school :3

it's pretty and I love the build up. I think the vocals are a little too prominent. You can hear them too well over all the other instruments and they are kind of plain. Still good song though!

I don't know the original song at all, but I'm guessing it's been turned into a heavy rock version? It actually sounds pretty nice, and still gives off that Castlevania vibe.

The slowdown part is a bit too long for my tasting. I mean...I don't like it personally when a heavy or fast pace song goes slow for too long.

Once it resumes back to normalcy, it's still a bit slower then the start, but better. Though at the end of the day, not something I would use for a smash montage, workout song,at best...listening to it unconsciously or in a movie.
