We'll be in wherever Magic Mountain is for one day, and then go to Anaheim/Disneyland area for the next three or four days. We have a year pass that expires at the end of this month >_>

Disneyland gets so boring after like half a day...

You should totally drive to HB and visit after you get bored of Disneyland. :3

PS:

For anyone that doesn't know. I found a way to pivot dash attack and pivot jab. <_< It's actually......... not useful really...except the dash attack which can make a GREAT thing if you misread a tech chase.

(EG you dash one way, they roll the other. You can pivot dash attack to still hit them)

It's just true pivoting our dash attack. LOL

Here's a step by step guide starting from STANDSTIL:

Dash Left/Right --> Let go of dash --> Dash Right/Left (opposite way) --> Attack within like 2 frames.

So far I can only pivot dash attack and jab and fsmash. I've done ftilt ONCE... it's really hard.

Imagine doing an ftilt/utilt from a dash D= that's why I've been trying to do..

Make a video about it, SuSa.

Also, I...I...have a problem. I suck with every character I try to used not named Snake, and because I'm not fully commited to Snake, he's slowly getting worse, too.

Anyone wanna listen to my video game problems? I think I might have to drop Diddy, whom I have a great <3 for...

I can get videos of me doing it tomorrow in tourney and in friendlies. :) Adding it to my tech chase game. You can also do a true pivot DACUS. :o Which is sex in itself.

Mario and Wario are NOT easy to use btw.

Wolf is complex, and you REALLY need to learn how to recover.

I won't argue the other 2. lol

Also yah, needs TJ Off AFAIK.

Due to only being able to post a few times a day because I'm not at my house, I need to go through every post now. D:

If heard music like that in the woods, I'd f***ing take a hike every day! All I'd need is a couple of elves playing the flute, and a bear and a bird (turkey?) to help solve random puzzles, haha. Unfortunately I heard Nuts and bolts sucked :(
Click Clock Wood music was so ****ing catchy. Original Banjo over Nuts and Bolts. Definitely. And I think Kazooie is a breegul. No turkeys.

What if you heard this in the woods...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KUXX9T8Cm4
I ****ing love that music. Like srsly.

I'm not to sure about my new font choice though... what do you think?

Compared to this
Green is better.

I stopped a while ago because I ****ing hate the generation 3 EV system with a passion.

The fact that I swore shows you how much I hate it.
EV system is stupid, I agree. I h4x everything for simplicity as some people already know...

So would I. G/S/C are easily the best Pokemon adventures.
^This.

You have to find a character you have a bunch of fun playing as and just stick with them. Then throw in a couple more you like so you don't get bored of that character. Or second the entire roster. :D

Snake/Pikachu for my mains, Falco/MK for secondaries. And then I play the entire roster for kicks. That's how it is right now anyway. I'm in an experimental seconds stage. My mains are set though.

I want to get to work on my music project but I can't go home yet. It sux, yo. :(

Snake goes bad against Olimar, most of us have come to agree on that. He can also have difficulty with D3 and Falco, although most everyone has come to the conclusion that those matchups are even nowadays.

So with this, we have Olimar+d3+Falco, a lazy person would say MK! But let's do some research.

MK vs:
Olimar 60-40 (says MK) and 38-62 (says Olimar)
D3: 60-40 (says MK) and 40-60 says D3
Falco: 55-45 (says MK) and 50-50 says Falco

Now let's look at other possibilities:

Falco (he's been mentioned)
Olimar: 50-50 says both
D3: 60-40 says Falco, 65-35 says D3
Falco: 50-50 (its a ditto)

This means if you didn't have to face any Olimars, Falco would arguably be your best secondary so far. But let's do some further research.

Peach:
Olimar: says 38-62 (same matchup as vs MK!)
D3: Both say 50-50
Falco: both say 55-45 Falco

This means that if you don't really have to face D3, and your Snake has problems with Falco - Peach may be a good choice.

Delving even DEEPER

Kirby:
Says 60-40 ALL MATCHUPS
Olimar has it listed as: 58-42 OLIMARS advantages
D3 has it the same as Kirby
Falco actually says its WORSE, 35-65 - Kirby being the 65.

This right here, with the debate on Olimar - just made Kirby a "better" secondary then MK. He has very similiar matchups against D3 (and debatable Olimar) but a better matchup vs Falco. (I don't know how up-to-date these matchup threads are....)

So how about ya'll put some work into your actual best secondary going off your bad matchups and who covers those the best, even if it requires some work and thought.

MK is the easy way out for a secondary - because he also covers "personal" bad matchups, which an actual secondary that only covers "bad matchups" may not cover.

Just putting it out there.

Have fun number cramming,
SuSa
Try this on for size:

Ice Climbers (according to that chart)
Falco: 35-65 IC
DDD: 35-65 IC
Olimar: 30-70 IC

Can that be right?

You have to look at it from both sides, unless all 4 forums agreed on those #'s. lol

Also my logic was highly flawed. For my system to work you'd have to ALWAYS win your first match, and your opponent cannot be Meta Knight. :/

Well, here's the problem. I also main Diddy in addition to Snake, and I really like using him. Problem is, I never practice him anymore. He requires specific timing, which I have down almost perfectly, but wifi is gay with input lag and I play against others offline once every blue moon. Either I'll have to learn to use him on wifi, which will completely mess me up and with eventually lead to me developing bad habits, or drop him for some character (dunno which yet)

So what should I do?

turn around....

Wolf is complex, and you REALLY need to learn how to recover.

Well, I never said they didn't come with their learning curves, but their easy to pick up and play and manage to get a few stocks even going first time with them.
Playing them 'well' is a different story.

*shameless plug*

If anyone likes FF, there's a weeklong marathon for charity. Bam.

I'm considering dropping Diddy, but he covers a lot of bad matchups for me and is overall awesome. Who would I pick up instead? Dedede is simple to pick up, I play MK really gay whenever I use him, my Wario blows, my Falco blows even more, my Marth is average, etc etc.

Still dont see why you hate it so much theres lists on websites of which pokemon give which ev's and its not hard to keep track of
I know there are sites, but

I'm not always on the internet and I'm not always by my computer.

Trying to use this EV system is like Playing Brawl with the damage Gauges and stock counters off.

Anyway, Uair is good for getting Pikmin off of you.
Save the utilt for KOs so you can take him out at about 95%.

Quit wifi and move to Utah and play with me. Problem solved.

Edit: SuSa, I'd post in that thread, but it looks like it's over for now already and I don't want to start it all up again.

Despite reading about it, today was the first time I tried duelists... against the comp, haha. Just think of it as a score attack, haha. The highest I got in one session was 364%. This really helps practice teching, especially if you're close to the top at a high percent.

Besides that, I tried juggling on the duelist level. I "gimped" (since there are no ledges to grab) a comp, kicked it under the barrier and juggled it to 150% before it bounced off the roof. It's easier to juggle comp characters with longer up times, since they'll auto upB after you hit them. Yea... this is what I do when I have no one to play against...

This is good for a chuckle or two.

Well, I was playing with the whole cast today, and these were the characters I found the most fun / interesting:

1. Marth - overall good character, mikeHAZE <3 even though he beat Ally
2. ZSS - really, really like the aerial mobility, still underrated and underplayed even though she went up 9 spots on the 2nd tier list as compared to the first.
3.
Yoshi! - I have no **** clue why I even tolerate Yoshi. He has a lot of grab release CGs (including one on Snake?), is green, and is a more fun low tier than PT.

You can't hide this from me. Yoshi is an underpowered character in this game.

I wish his chews did more damage to make the grab release CGs better.

It would be much better if each chew did 5%.

Anyway, for Zelda, they need to fix the alternating timeline mess.
In retrospect, it makes less sense than MGS2's ending.

Where's Ganon in all this? Gerudos need some lovin', too.

Now I need to look at Diddy's, ZSS's, Marff's, and Yoshi's matchups and how they merge with Snake's. Anyone want to give me a hand with this by just telling me a few bad Snake matchups and how those 4 fair in them? SuSa would, but he's dead and all.

snakes bad matches... lol

DDD and MK are teh only characters that really beat snake. even tho he has a bunch of even matchups with random characters. all 3 spacies, rob to name a few.

everyone loses to mk so ill ignore that.
as far as ddd goes, marth loses to him slightly, yoshi loses to him slightly and i think ZSS is even, but she might lose to him slightly as well. Im pretty sure diddy beats him tho

Err.... Snake does the best against MK.

and Diddy loses against D3.

For Olimar, Yoshi has a minor advantage(Egg Lay to Pikmin kill) 55:45 Yoshi.
Zamus has a minor advantage too. 55:45 Zamus.
Marth has an advantage over Oli. 60:40 Marth.
Diddy goes even.

Peachy and Weegee seem to be the best characters to use against Olimar.

Let's take it one at a time:

Y = Yoshi, Z = ZSS, M = Marth

(Snake)
Metaknight: 45:55 - (Y - 40:60, Z - 40:60, M - 35:65)
Snake: 50:50
Wario: 45:55 (Y - 50:50, Z - 50:50, M - 60:40)
Falco: 50:50
Diddy: 40:60 (Y - 50:50, Z - 40:60, M - 60:40)
Dedede: 45:55 (Y - 50:50, Z - 60:40, M - 40:60)
Marth: 50:50
Game + Watch: 65:35
Pikachu: 45:55 (Y - 45:55, Z - 50:50, M - 55:45)
Olimar: 35:65 (Y - 55:45, Z - 55:45, M - 60:40)
ICs: 60:40
ROB: 50:50
Kirby: 45:55 (Y - 50:50, Z - 50:50, M - 60:40)

That's all I'm gonna worry about for now. These matchups aren't correct (matchups never will be correct), but I'd rather have grim matchup ratios, so I can scrutinize each potential candidate even more.

Thoughts: I don't buy a lot of the matchups in the Marth matchup thread, they have almost everything at 60:40, which just doesn't sound right. Yoshi boards had the best matchup thread by far, since they list both their ratios and the links to the other character boards and their matchup threads.ZSS boards are kind of dull, but are pretty fair.

Results:

Metaknight:None.
Wario: Marth.
Diddy: Marth.
Dedede: Zero Suit.
Pikachu: Marth.
Olimar: Marth, Zero Suit, Yoshi.
Kirby: Marth.

Again, I don't buy the Marth board's matchups.

olimar is way worse than MK and probably worse than DDD IMO.

edit:

I think Snake is 55:45 against diddy, 5:5 against marth, 35:65 against olimar, and 55:45 or 6:4 against Kirby, to comment on underloads list.

@ etecoon:

Snake is totally ground based, Diddy is meant to **** up ground based characters. 60:40, imo. No real safe place to camp against Diddy, unless you CP Battlefield / Lylat.

Marth has pretty good range, and Snake can camp his Marth's ***. I'll make it even.

Olimar is pretty bad, too. Gonna update that one.

Look at Zaj's synopsis of the Kirby matchup. I really think he's a Snake counter.

@ knux:

Marth is cool. Melee and Brawl mains should be on the same line, otherwise awsumz siggy.

Well, Marth wins according to the results (up there ^^^^^^^^), but then again, I don't buy a lot of the Marth board's matchups. And some matchups I'd rather go with Snake, even if he may have a slight disadvantage (Kirby, Wario). Overall, that didn't do jack ****.

Let's just do pools!:

Diddy Kong
Wario
Metaknight
King Dedede
Zero Suit Samus
Yoshi
Pokemon Trainer

Are all the characters I "use", with the 3 current candidates thrown in...let's just wax poetic about this, if anyone cares.
