I do watch vids on a regular basis, but I get obsessed with lots of video games not just smash, and watch speedruns of other games I've beat or have played a little, and even some games I've never played

fear , ninja gaiden, system shock 2, resident evil 4... i have so many on that list lol

as for smash I always watch vids, usually tourney matches though.

It's better than having to weed out posts on the latest pages to find the new question IMO.

As for the question: Yes, I do on my spare time. Sometimes more than once depending on the match. If I'm watching it for the second (or even third) time, I try to pick up on as much new things as possible.

I dont think controller johns are legit, but cold hand johns are. When my hands are cold, I have to play Peach, and I have to sit there spamming downsmash until my hands warm up.

"I lost cuz I have to switch between Brawl and Melee" johns are illegit. They're different games with (imo) vastly different physics and mechanics. If you want to be considered the best you can't just rest on your laurels and just use brawl as the scapegoat. (Hi Mew2king!)

"I'm rusty" johns.... I don't know what to think. I mean on one hand, if I were to play some amazing player who was rusty and I won, would that make me the better player at the time? Even though I know they can play better than that, is it my fault they lost? I'm kinda torn on this one.

Sick johns are legit I suppose.

"I need to warm up johns" are kinda legit, but not in tournament.

Cold hand johns are also legit.

Controller johns are not legit... unless the controller is actually screwed up.

switching from brawl to melee is NOT legit because it's YOUR CHOICE TO PLAY BRAWL

exactly. Even if brawl does make your melee game worse, the fact that you're johning about it means you knew that beforehand, so you could've just not played brawl. Simple.

brand new controller johns are ok. to play falco or fox you need a broken in controller.

if you play peach or marth i dont think it matters too much.

"ive been playing brawl" johns would just be an embarrassing event.
