There's a good chance I'll be going. Redd is going too.
right now i'm only going if Vist manages to get me...or if not one of the other MD/VA cars will....he says...idk. I really want to go! I'm gonna finally get a chance to beast on JC :D...maybe not in PM

not going to Zenith but I'll be at Genesis 2
just admit your avoiding me :(

Imo at most a slight buff if any - the move is significantly less punishable than a missed rest, and shouldn't have similar kill power. It's really just another option for a finisher - and that's probably fine.
i never said it should be as powerful as a rest....just said it looks similar but it's way weaker. It is a kill move on light characters at like 86+ % on YS's....might as well not even exist...lol

Ah okay then. By comparing it to rest, I thought you were implying it should have similar kill power. And iirc Yoshi's doesn't have an especially short ceiling does it? I thought it was just the sides that were close.

No. He cancels and then is in the location he was. He is technically airborne on frame like 6 of his upsmash and can cancel into jump on hit.

There was an interesting zoom forward during that scenario in the move's earlier stages of development, but no longer is that possible.
Hmm I just figured since he would jump into the air when doing usmash, canceling it with aurasphere would make it look like he warps back to the ground. But I guess you don't need to anymore since you can just jump anyway?

cancelling into aura sphere would put him into the aerial state for aura sphere. We made the game treat him as in the air during that movement process. There is no warping in any situation.

Ah alright that makes sense now. Dunno why I wasn't thinking of it that way lol.

Hope you guys liked the stream! I learned a lot and wrote down a buncha thoughts to post later.
It was pretty fun, and watching you guys play melee afterwards was great.
I'll be waiting for the next one.

What is being done with Diddy? I feel like he's one of the few Brawl characters needing relatively little modification to fit into a Melee environment. His moveset and physics are very solid and he looked great in the stream yesterday. I know his bananas are now techable, but is anything else being changed?

I just have 2 questions, when is the new patch coming out?

And have you considered changing some attacks for balancing in Project M. Like for instance Peach Nair comes out in 3 frames and it acts almost like a combo breaker for her lol. You just have to mash nair and most of the time the opponet will get hit. This is just an example there are many other chars that could get balanced

There is no release date for the patch, and yes, they're aiming to have a balance cast but there is no reason to nerf a move unless it's way too good like sheik's downthrow.

Edit: Monk, your avatar suggest you have time for streaming. :D

apparently, putting that in the title and op still doesn't help, ha.

And @ the diddy question
the up b functions more properly when it comes to walls.
The POP gun can be shield cancelled.
The jump kick at the end of his side b doesn't eat his up b anymore
his down tilt takes longer to recover out of.

That's all I'm sure of.

I don't think so but I am not sure. Some memories stay repressed for a reason, I suppose.

Anyway it doesn't matter. None of us are going to go check (the loading times... oh god the loading times...), and anyone who played brawl enough to remember is a lifenoob. except me, of course.
edit: and monk

I'm surprised that I didn't remember. Huh.

Ecks, I am too damned tired to stream. I only got 7 hours of sleep in the past two days. My hands are shaking from exhaustion.
I wasn't being serious, but it sounds like you're having a hard time. O_o

Hope you can get some rest soon.

I know the feeling quite well and it's so terrible. Last week I had so much to do I even stood up the whole night studying. I ended up ****** the final test though. :D

So I was playing Melee today. I picked Marth and for some reason doing a short hop>fair>side-b>any aerial was really hard to do. Shouldn't this be easier in Melee due to later landing detection? But the most curious part is that I've been playing PM Fox a lot (not a Fox player) and I could translate my Fox to Melee without problems. :D (and I could barely waveshine consistently before pm too.)
