are you sure you got all the files right?.. cause my peach is trying to be armada...
Oh yeah, my Peach is trying to do that stuff. He's just not any good at it. He does all these wavedashes and floatcanceled stuff, and then I hit him with Ganon's Ftilt, and he's dead. Or, in the case of the Fox match, the Fox ran away a lot. Then, when Fox came close, Peach ran away.

The only files I didn't replace were the ones with the song names in them, so I could keep my names intact. I'm fairly certain the AI isn't in those.

You guys should try Peach v Fox on Skyloft. Tell me how long it takes.

Yes. The AI in my game belongs to me. And is male. I named him Bill.

Also, the AI is better than most of my friends, which is cool. So at least we know it can destroy casual players.

raphael, can you not see that the pmbr is slowly working their way up into creating better A.I?

I don't understand why you keep pointing out all these imperfections when the pmbr never claimed demo 2.1 to have prefect/finalized A.I. just chill out, i'm sure we will see vastly improved/technical A.I when Project M is done....polishing gameplay and mechanics should come first, i'm sure we'll see better and better A.I along the way.

I don't know how aware they are of the imperfections. If they aren't, don't they need to know them in order to improve the AI?

I'm not complaining. I'm pointing out all the problems I've noticed so they can be fixed in the future. I'm also sure the AI wlll be better when PM is done, but I assume they want to know any issues we find with it. If they don't, they should say so now, and I'll stop mentioning the issues I've found. Until then, I'll continue recounting my experiences so they know where it can be improved.

I'm sure I mentioned this already, but since you seemed to miss it, I like the AI a lot, and I'm extremely impressed with what they've done with it. It's a lot more fun to play against than the people I know, and the old AI. I am surprised they did wavedashing before L-cancelling, though, since I've always thought L-cancelling was a far more valuable technique.

I did think it was funny when the Falcon just stood there and took a Warlock Punch, though. It was a 180 punch, so would that have something to do with it?

Sometimes the AI is really focused on dodging (Pit is the prime example). At one point I just stood there watching him move about. One time we both just stayed there casually wasting time for about 15 seconds. LOL

But yeah, didn't King Clubber say he did all this AI stuff in about a week. It's way too impressive for such little amount of time if you ask me.

We are highly aware of the issues with the AI. The AI you see in 2.1 are the efforts of 1 man over the course of 1 month with limited ability due to how one of the files related to AI is loaded. Regardless, the AI is much improved over 2.0, and we hope you enjoy playing against the CPU. Think of it as a taste of what's to come in our next release.

I like to think of it this way. At the last Melee tournament I went to, my teammate backed out on me at the last minute. If that had been a PM tournament, I still would have had a teammate. And a fairly good one, too.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, the Falcon did try to shield the Warlock Punch, but the punch went straight through his shield (which was pretty much a fresh shield). It's possible he dropped his shield at the last second, or the punch just hit him anyway.

Well I've tried out the update and the game froze on me twice. The first time was when I used Snake's side taunt on Fountain of Dreams and the second was when a cpu did a perfect shield on a projectile (I think). Fixing these problems (and others) would be greatly appreciated.

I cannot connect to the IRC chat :0. So, I've loaded the USB loader, and in ocarina there are a whole bunch of different cheat codes that I've looked through but none of them are Project M I don't think. Is there a name for the code???

Neither of those happen to us, you may want to consider redownloading and reinstalling.

I've tried redownloading many times. I have wii key and banner bomb to hack my wii. In wii USB loader in the custom paths it shows all of the files I have downloaded but they are not availabe from the smash bros. settings.

In USB loader you select your game. Under settings you enable cheats.

That's all you need to do.

This game i so amazing. I've played it at my neighbor's house. I guess I will just save up for another wii and copy of Brawl to play it.

I might get this for the new and improved Bowser. I have a couple of questions though. Is it possible to switch it back to regular old Brawl or is it stuck that way once you put the mod on? And will this work on an latest update Australian Pal region Wii?

You mean your game isn't there, or the settings isn't there? What version of USB loader are you using? I use configurable USB loader for PM. Tomorrow I can go through and tell you exactly what I did.

Using hackless, it only loads pm when going to the stage builder/custom stages, do just remove it and restart to play brawl. On a USB loader,because you're pal, turn off ocarina to play brawl

So i was messing aorund with snake to see what was new, and I noticed he got his Demo v1 DACUS back..? i didnt see that noted on the change list :S

Im quite happy he has it back tho ;)

why would you wanna play brawl anyway? :p

no but yeah, pm will only load when you press "custom stages"

Snake needs a way to differentiate between his "Tasty!" and "Not even close!" taunts for better spamming/taunt canceling.

And Ganondorf still needs his taunt on Warlock Punch added.

Considering how many people I saw talk about how beast it is, crushing a Lv. 9 Peach a couple minutes ago makes me feel good. ;)

Nice work on the AI though - still crazy to see them do stuff like they do now.

Are you suppose to be getting a Aura stock thingy (glowing hands that allow enhanced moves) when you do an Up Taunt?

first match: 2:27 fox wins... he even walked off-stage and did a turn around shine for an edge hog at some point...

second match: 4:20 peach wins...

third match: 4:12 peach wins...

Edit: i'd like to point out that the link on smashmods still says "Get demo v2.0"...

Up taunt gives you 5(?) points towards the charge, so you may get the charge if the taunt fills the rest of it.

I would download it, copy the files to the SD card, let it overwrite any files it needed to and when I got to the SSS it would freeze after 2 seconds. I'd have enough time to hit random and play but I just thought I'd let you know. I just installed the hackless version instead and it works fine.

You probably had the same issue as stingers, he had a custom stage on his SD Card. You need to absolutely have no custom stages on your SD Card so freezes like this don't occur. (Hint: We took off "Disable Custom Stages" on the Homebrew version of the release)

I also use the hackless version to (ironically) play on a friend's hacked Wii :troll:

I really like that Ganon's ledge attacks are back to how they were in Melee. However, now the <100 attack has the really long get off the edge animation that all the >100 get ups do. This feels kind of weird. I do really like having them how they were in Melee, though.
Actually, I just double checked, and the <100 ledge attack hits on the same frame as Melee, ends on the same frame as Melee, and rises above the ledge at least as quickly as melee. I completely overhauled this animation. It was not just a quick copy and paste job. However, I will see if I can figure out why you think it feels slow, but I assure you it is not.

Also has a dive kick in another cutscene (unless we are talking about the same scene)

I'd pick up pit if you took out that crucially hard to hit spike and replaced it with said dive kick. (D-air)
