I saw this the other day too. Mango vs Leffen vid, right? I don't know much about Sp00ky, but that's certainly not a good way to get more support by people interested in Smash.

...Whereas the video itself was actually Mango vs Hungrybox AND Mango vs Leffen for some reason.

The main audience he appeals to is the FGC; ie not smash. Most of the people who watch what he has, probably don't care about smash at all. Uploading videos a few days after the events is good because you don't want your content to overshadow its self. Gotta let them viewers take it in. But yea, he didn't need to come out and say that. Not really sure if I understand this. How would you be overshadowing yourself? I for one always prefer it if the streams I watch upload the videos immediately so I get to watch my favorite moments again. I understand if this is not always the case since it's difficult to do especially in venue's with poor internet, but I always prefer the former. I've seen a lot more people share the same opinion. Not trying to start an argument, I just don't really understand what you're trying to say.

Spooky definitely does and honestly should give uploading priority to what ever gains him the most views, it is his channel and uploading Marvhel sooner would definitely generate more hype/revenue for him. He didn't have to be like that though.

I'm relatively new to the Smash scene, but let me get this out: Sp00ky does god's work for the FGC. He is well respected in the community. And while I think his attitude in this situations is unnecessary, I can see where he's coming from.

Also unfortunately, the FGC really doesn't give two **** about Smash. In my experience it's hard to bring up Smash without snarky "lol smash" comments. The audience who watch Street Fighter or Marvel might not even necessarily like other Capcom fighters either, and Smash being a sort of off beat fighter featuring "kiddy" Nintendo characters doesn't help its case. It's ****ty but what can you do?

On the plus side, Melee getting more attention now might grab more audience outside of dedicated Smash players.

I took a quick look at his other videos, and I see that his other videos for different tournaments (mainly GF matches) gain about 20,000 views and normal matches gain about 8-5,000 or less. The GF of Apex 2014 got 40,000 views, which was more than both the SF and UMVC3 Grand Finals of Apex 2014 combined, not to mention the matches before GF in those games got sub-10,000 views, most of them being sub 6,000 (the exception to this was one non-GF UMVC3 match, and it still was about 30,000 views). The most surprising thing is that Mango vs Leffen, which was not GF, and the same video that Team Sp00ky made this comment in, got a whopping 140,000 views, which is the most he has ever gotten in a match in a while. Now don't get me wrong; any streamer who regularly gets 4,000 views or more is amazing. But the excuse that Smash videos don't get attention is clearly false.
And like Canon said, his attitude would be more understandable if it was like an FGC mainstay tournament that had Smash as a side tournament. But this was Apex, the largest Smash tournament in the world and he was hired to be the main streamer. It's to be expected that he treats the main game of the tournament without prejudice and streams the game like he cares. If he doesn't care about the game and he doesn't want to care about it, that's fine, that's his opinion and I can respect that, everybody has different tastes. But don't accept the offer and then treat it like it's nothing. That's insulting.
I'll give credit where credit is due though. He did upload all the tournament videos of Smash/UMVC3/SF on the same day, and not like UMVC3 and SF were uploaded like five days earlier or something, so that's nice.

also note that the first few days of a video being up will make up of about ~half of your total views, if not even more if you're a big time youtuber. compare GIMR's **** to his, many of the APEX FRIENDLIES have higher views than spooky's videos. THE FRIENDLIES, not even in-tournament! and look at the PM grand finals on clashtournaments' channel, nearly double the views of spooky's. this is because they upload quickly, people want to see cool stuff again and again after it happens live. hell, when gimr gets good internet at his venues, he can get away with uploading a match as soon as it ends. his grip on this sort of thing is on lock, it's incredible.

I'm a bit disappointed that spooky doesn't know this, because this is the purest basics of youtube on the god damn planet. but no, it's because smash can't sell, right?

To be fair, TeamSp00ky probably has more experience streaming larger scale tournaments than most other Smash streamers, so I understand why they were the most optimal streamers at the time.

I never finished Minish Cap or Phantom Hourglass. I never finished Minish Cap because I played like 7 years after it came out and I played it on my emulator since I couldn't be bothered to get the real thing. So that's probably why. Looking at gameplay videos, I think I would've liked it had I played it when it came out.
Phantom Hourglass I didn't like because whenever you had to pass through that one section a bazillion times to get info on the next dungeon was so obnoxious that I just stopped playing. I don't think I have a least favorite, though I will say that Twilight Princess for me was a guilty pleasure. I really liked that game.

It really depends on the match-ups. I'll try out both with him in friendlies but probably going more Link than Lucario in teams and more Lucario than Link in singles.

Skyward Sword was more disappointing than a bad game. It did plenty right, but also plenty wrong. I don't like to hate on it because despite its flaws it was a very pleasant feeling game and the artstyle was amazing imo.

Twilight Princess is the third worst IMO

Skyward Sword would have been great if the game didn't treat you like a child and put you in one of those child leashes.

Also the lack of the open world was awful. And the secrets were barely even a secret.

I actually liked most of the idea behind Skyward Sword but the game was just executed poorly.
