It's mad early. Wee hours, yee.

I just can't hear the word bear anymore without thinking this. Bear arms. Bear hands.

Beary punny.

Also, that sounds really edgy.
It IS (darker and) edgy(ier).
I like it when games are realistic.
The LoZ series is set in mostly feudally-classed society, in the equivalent of the medieval era.

Knights during that time died a lot.
Peasants died by the thousands/millions during said era.

TP? Pretty realistic in that respect.

I hate violence for it's own sake(I make the point of being excellent at it, Krav Maga and Systema are unforgiving, but so am I when I have reason to be)...but I appreciate when it is portrayed well, and also not senselessly, or "just because".

Lemme put it this way; I hate fighting enough that I go out of my way to be able to end conflicts in single strokes, or rather, single strikes to relevant points on bodies.

So, yeah, you can understand that I'm pretty pissed at how things are nowadays lol

yeah I saw the set. It was rough, he was converting really well and you were coming down with a lot of nairs that he punished, and didn't convert as much off of the stray hits you got.

Best Zelda is Link's Awakening. I don't know why you guys bothered playing the rest.

EDIT: I'm not saying the others are bad. Link's Awakening is just that good.

LA and MM are the best because they were made from their respective team after the main game got out but they still wanted to make games.
That unique flavor you can't find in any other Zelda game, it's love.

I hope I'm just being trolled, because there are so many things that are wrong in this game, like, I don't even know where to begin.
In fact, the simple fact that this game exists irritates me.

Skyward Sword's fun is based on how much you love being pestered by a surprisingly statistically-minded ancient companion, and mediocre waggle-controls.

Windwaker was my favorite. The boat + epic sailing theme pretty much made that game for me.
LoZ: 64 and then Four swords on gamecube with friends. That dodgeball mini-game with that woman. I've never been so happy to watch someone get obliterated with a red ball..

Playing tournaments when you're exhausted is a nightmare. At last night's Smashing Grounds I didn't even have the energy to combo DI. I just survival DI'd the entire time.

... And a stamina bar that serves no purpose, and a sky that is empty, and the absence of left handed mode... I could go on forever on this game. Oh did I mention that the movement detection is better in Okami, even though there's no motion plus ?

Also I loved WW but there's something that's always bothered me : you know when you're sailing, and there's sometimes this weather with big ass waves rolling up and down ? Well it hurts my ocd a lot that no matter how big the waves are your ship never moves vertically, always stays on the side of a wave.

I'll stop with my autism for now, I'll save you the "you can't backflip over the fences in TP" for the next time.

Just thought I'd share this old trailer for salty edition I made (never finished it) for 2.6 lol

Oh my god, why is that Luigi's mansion texture over Dracula's Castle so popular?! Why is the Mansion so tiny? It's so boring, I hate it so much. I can't understand why it's in so many people's texture packs. Is it the only mildly decent Dracula's Castle texture available or something?

My opinion on Zelda games is interesting.
I recognize Majora's Mask as the best in the series, but find Wind Waker to be the most enjoyable for me personally.

Wind Waker has 'Dorf as a completely understandable character in that he's apparently not evil for it's own sake, not entirely, in it.
A bit of a monologue that says worlds: "My country lay within a vast desert. When the sun rose into the sky, a burning wind punished my lands, searing the world. And when the moon climbed into the dark of night, a frigid gale pierced our homes. No matter when it came the wind carried the same thing... Death. But the winds that blew across the green fields of Hyrule brought something other than suffering and ruin. ...I coveted that wind, I suppose."

Remember, he's the chief of the Gerudo, who live in a desert.
Merely not dying each day is a profound accomplishment in such an environment!

No OoT 3D on these lists makes me pretty salty, it's got the perfect kind of visuals/colors for a Zelda game. It's OoT but better basically and is in my opinion, the best Zelda game. ALttP is my favorite, however.

Better get that runback sir and my first real Zelda game was Ocarina of Ages. I think it was a ok starting point.

I consider OoT 3D a better version of the original. It's a remake, so it's fairly logical to just considering them one in the same since there's no real gameplay changes between the two, just minor improvements.

It'd be like mentioning The Wind Waker HD as it's own slot, or Link's Awakening DX.

OoT 3D is definitely THE version of OoT, and among the best in the series for sure. I just don't think OoT of any version can sit at the top of the throne.
It was the first 3D Zelda, and accomplished SO much especially given its time, but I think both MM and WW improved upon what OoT did while also striking out on their own in enough respects to surpass it.

I think MM from a design standpoint is just above and beyond every other title. I couldn't do the game justice to describe what it accomplishes.
But when I play WW... man it just fills my heart with joy every time to see Link's facial expressions and little dances, and to hear his little grunts and shouts that honestly do more to portray feeling than what most games are able to do with full voices. I think that's what really makes me enjoy WW more than MM. It's the tone of the game. Even as the game gets more serious as the story progresses you still feel like you're a kid. That feeling of dread that looms over almost every moment of MM just doesn't strike me personally the same way.

Gamecube TP >>> Wii TP. Mainly due to being able to use a Gamecube controller and not motion controls, and the Long Jump Attack is a lot easier and used more in the GC version.

I respect all 1st party Zelda games, I believe each of them has something (Played Phantom Hourglass, it's not too bad, but Spirit Tracks had few saving graces) going on. The reason I like ALttP so much is that it's a traditional type of setting that's PERFECT for Zelda games. It's got just the perfect amount of fantasy that Zelda's design can portray so well. The amount of dungeons is also excellent, which is where I truly find Majora's Mask lacking in. Yes, MM has a LOT of goodies on the side and along the way that are optional and add more to the game, which I ALSO respect and Zelda games beyond OoT handled better than OoT, it's just... OoT feels more like an adventure while MM feels more like a journey? Doubt that makes any sense, but that's the overall feeling for me when it comes to them.

MM's good. WW's good. OoT's good (and 3D and WWHD are real pretty.) I just feel, functionality-wise, that OoT 3D is THE Zelda experience.

Also Oracle games are always underrated in my opinion (if not outright forgotten) and they are excellent as far as 2D Zeldas go.

Original >>>> 3D remake. A friend recently got me into watching OoT speedruns, and the glitches in the remake (as far as I've seen) just aren't as prominent.

For speedrunning it's debatable (though I'll agree that the original makes for more interesting speedrunning, especially any%). But for just actual playthroughs the 3DS version is waaaay better.

I'm glad speedrunning has made it so that some people appreciate older games because they have MORE glitches, haha.

Outside of Any% though, OoT 3D has VERY interesting All Dungeons and MST routes as well as its own glitches that make it an entirely different experience as far as speedrunning goes. Any% is boring in OoT3D, I'll admit to that much :p

Any% is the only category I've watched from 3DS runs (as opposed to the original where I watch all categories) and yeah, it just couldn't compare to original any%.
I'll have to check out the other categories for 3DS though.
3DS runners ever do anything fun stuff like OoT Bingo races? That's always so fun to watch.

I don't think the community got big enough for things like weekly bingo races to happen. To be honest, speedrunning 3D can get pretty frustrating with the glitches you have to do. :(

The game DOES offer a lot more when the rest is played out. Doom jump is a cool, 3D exclusive glitch that only gets used twice but drastically shortens dungeons.

Oh did I mention that the movement detection is better in Okami, even though there's no motion plus ?
I always wonder what game SS control haters have been playing, because it certainly can't have been the game I played.
Like seriously, SS has by far the best motion controls in any game I played. I think many players might just have too much ir pollution to throw their controls off. For the few first hours, my calibration went out quickly. After that, I made sure that I had no lights on, and no sunlight interfering, and after that I never had any problems.
SS has some design errors, but so has every zelda placed lower on my list. It also is strongest zelda in many aspects.

Skyward Sword's fun is based on how much you love being pestered by a surprisingly statistically-minded ancient companion, and mediocre waggle-controls.
It's very insulting to call SS controls waggle, since you will do much better if you do proper motions and choose your angles correctly. SS is the only zelda with enjoyable combat system imo. Now TP is the game that has horrible waggle controls.

And okami's motion controls are beyond horrible, though the wii version is still my favourite game of the past 7 years.

Skyward Sword's world lacked any sense of adventure. The sky itself was practically empty, and the world below the sky was split up into small individual sections rather than being a more open world.
That's my qualm with the game.

You hit the nail on the head, that is the only significant design error in the game imo. Now I can see why players don't like SS that much if they value the sense of adventure really high; I don't understand how anyone can state that the controls didn't work.
