Also, I'm loving the Oracle games so far. I went for Seasons first, but I'm definitely going to play Ages.
@ Shadic Shadic How did you beat Link's Adventure? That game has given me trouble forever.
Edit: I'd also like to know why you enjoyed it so much. Since I haven't gotten very far, I'd be interested to see your reasoning.

I started playing Oracle of Seasons once but I got stock at the first temple behind this log or something. I gave up on the game after that (this was a loooooooooong time ago).

Plum, I don't see Link making that kind of determination about the moral good of the universe unless there are literally evil demons run amok everywhere because.......gods. It's absolutely not his place to judge what the gods do and what dark forests and dungeons they decide to put demons in and I believe he is pious and humble enough to know that himself. Unless the gods are incredibly evil in this hypothetical he won't do a thing but fight monsters.

If the King of Hyrule told him his head was on the chopping block tomorrow for blasphemy, he would probably show up and take his punishment unless it was mind-control.

Even then he can't directly determine the future of the Kingdom too much unless it's post apocalypse Wind Waker.
Well, it's not like Link has to just jump into saving the world from the very beginning. A lot of Zelda titles involve some sort of hook that draws him into the greater story. Like in WW he's trying to save his sister and it eventually turns into saving the world, MM he just wants his **** back but it turns out he has to save the world, or w/e.
So like...
Something bad happens in his village, Link goes off to save the day, and finds out through some local spirit or something that the gods may be corrupted, goes to the big temple in the big castle city across the nation, gets attacked by bad guys, finds out that it's true and resolves to fix things even if it means he has to fight against his gods.
Mind you that's just an amalgation of sorts of other Zelda titles and they would have something way better... but Link going against authority for the greater good would be a cool new story.

Oh yeah, how come no one told me that you could aim Bowser's down-B? That would have helped me so much. I only figured it out on my own yesterday and I immediately noticed that I had better success hitting with it, even in friendlies.

BTW guys, Mother's Day is Sunday.

Consider this a final warning in case you forgot like I almost did.

I'll be streaming the Minnesota Triweekly tomorrow on www.twitch.tv/mnsmash. We're looking at around 40 entrants for PM and 50 entrants for melee. Camelot, Aarosmashguy, Chexr, Triple R, Slayer, and more will be in attendance! :D
hey where do these go down? A buddy and I out in fargo would like to come to some of these during the summer, unless they're a u of m thing that only happens during the year

They're held at the u of m. They've been triweekly events but this is the last triweekly for the semester. There will probably be events held by someone throughout the summer, though. You should join the MN group if you haven't.

My favorite part of the whole game man.

Per chance does anyone remember the name of that album of Smash inspired music VGBC used before the salty suite at Apex? I really want to hear that Yoshi song.

1)

2) It's a difficult game that's mostly well put together, has very challenging combat, and gives a pretty good sense of exploration. The world is huge. Combat never feels stale to me, but it almost always a challenge. Failing is almost entirely your own fault, all enemies have their patterns (Except Bits/Bots), and the ability to succeed/fail rests on your shoulders.

Also you haven't even started the game until you're hit the terror that is Death Mountain. It's the only game in the series that actually lives up to the name.

If I were to change some minor things about the game? I'd probably make the tunnel to the first dungeon pre-lit to give a better sense of direction. Add the ability for enemies to randomly drop hearts instead of having to do all healing magically. Also make it so when you fall into a pit it only takes a chunk of HP like every other game, instead of flat-out killing you.

10 days left.

So is anyone else scouting through the Sinnoh, Johto, or Unova GTS for zany trades?

I don't remember when, but I got a Zekrom for something really common at an odd level.

I always found AoL to be decently balanced on the challenge, only really suffering from dumb cheese moments (pitfalls, EXP reset to 0 on game over, reset back to North Temple on file select/game over, THOSE STUPID RESPAWNING DOGHEADS THAT APPEAR IN IMPOSSIBLE TO AVOID AREAS).

Lolol my bad about the name. I guess I'll just have to pop in my collector's disc and play it again. Thanks for the recommendation!

I've beaten Adventure of Link once. It's not an easy game. Especially the beginning, before you have your down and up attacks.

After you get those though things are a lot smoother.

People still do Brawl Minus stuff and play it? Where the hell I been?
I just wanted to check it out.

Needless to say it was the biggest mistake of my life.

Stealth rock jank from charizard
Jump cancelled fox illusion
Wavedashing fox (IN A BRAWL SETTING)
The Legend of Jank : Ocarina of time.
Pikmin that are pretty much death central along with olimar having recovery of the gods
Falco lasers that travel so slow that you can short hop shoot and make a barrier of falco lasers.
SONIC
Donkey kong : Strong Bad edition
Metal mario after side taunt

and more jank than that too.

Hahaha I remember those. They behave just like the Medusa Heads from Castlevania 1 + 3. Just plan your gap jumping around them + stay calm and you'll be fine.
You can also Downward thrust them too unlike Medusa heads.
I've seen the Medusa Heads appear in situations far worse, like the hall before the Grim Reaper in Castlevania 1, which is easily the hardest area in the game.

I don't know about that.

Maybe for the first 8 matches but I've had enough brawl minus for a lifetime.

I legitimately think I like Brawl more than Brawl Minus. Then again, I've never been hit with an infinite in brawl yet.
