on second thought and after further pondering, i think people may be mad about the ARG. People are just dumb and illogical.

But Portal 2 will be the best game since Metroid Prime so no worries.

stuff is happening.

test subjects went from "zero" to "nine"
some text I don't really understand.
the potato count is rapidly declining. I made a estimate calculation it will be at 0 in about 12.5 hours which is roughly 2 hours before the current release

I seriously can't wait, I've been freaking out all day today. Portal 2 is one of those games that has to be perfect, and I think its got a lot of potential to be GOTY, if you disregard Mass Effect 3 and Uncharted: Drake's Deception

Mass Effect 3 won't make it this year. its already April and there hasn't been jack s**t by way of news. on mag article and a completely cgi trailer. unless of ton of stuff drops at E3 and the game is shown to be hella far into production, it'll probably land sometime in early 2012

P2 4 GOTY

It's confirmed for "Holiday" 2011, though I bet it'll be pushed back until March or April probably. Anyway, I bet it will be, the first blew everyone away and Portal 2 has 6 times the levels and even more complicated puzzles.

There were a few out of chamber ones that I was wracking my brains for a good 15-20 mins to fix. Either way, was a great game, loved it :D

Now for the weekend and then it's co-op away with mates.

This game is great. I think I'm nearing the end of it though. I love all the comedy, it makes the bleak atmosphere bearable, and none of the jokes are corny awkward.

^ Couple questions on P1/P2:

-Is it more like a FPA than a FPS? Not like Metroid, but..you know that kinda thing.
-Is it platinumable or is it nearly impossible to do so?

This series really interests me <_<

Well, it's more like the a FPP (First Person Puzzle), since most of what you're doing is solving puzzles by shooting at walls. There's not very much adventure to it.

IDK what platinumable is, but if it has anything to do with difficulty the game isn't really that hard. There's some brainbusters here and there, but it all requires good observational skills.

Plus the story in Portal 2 is heavily entertaining.

Yeah, you can get all the achievements and such.

So was listening to the personality spheres at the end of the game, and I gotta say, it's highly entertaining.

So on an entirely unrelated note, what's everyone's favorite part about space? Mine is space.

First Person Puzzle is the best way to describe it. And I think it is possible to Platinum it, though about 30% of the trophies are Co-op and about 40% are pretty vague. Anyone with the PS3 or PC version wanna catch some Co-op tommorow?

Sure, wanna play some now? My cousin wanted to play some ODST and I'd be happy to play for an hour or so, I REALLY don't feel like playing ODST after beating it like 4 times over the past 2 years.
Anyway, who would like a XBL/PSN/Steam list for Co-op?

Wow, got this game on the 21st and I just completed it. It was much longer than Portal 1 seeing as though it only took me 2 hours to complete that one.

Absolutely loved it. Kept myself spoiler free and refused to use the Internet to help with any of the puzzles. This game is a work of art.

Same here, no guide and entirely spoiler free.

I think I got 7 hours, my Steam play time said 9 hours and I play about 2 hours on the PC version.

So, who else considered a new Jonathan Coulton song as a top 3 reason to buy Portal 2? I personally LOVED it. Here is a link to it if you want to experience the genius of JoCo

*WARNING* Song contains spoilers, so don't look if you don't want to spoil the story *WARNING*

waffle blaster added you on my steam, I wasn't home at the time so I couldn't play lol
Ok, cool, I can play some Wednesday-Sunday, I just got Sly Collection and I'll be busy until around 9:30 tommorow, but nearly any time after that I'm open. I hope PSN gets back up soon(SIX DAYS), I prefer playing on console and my computer I game on is just a laptop so it doesn't run Portal 2 very well on high res, and my connection can be a wee bit sketchy. I hope they do SOMETHING for us after the random 7 day + maintenance session. At least make a Downloadable game free for a couple of days, they could even make one of the free PSN+ games free to the general population.

Just beat this game and I must say this was awesome :bee:

The
ending song is also very catchy :)
Gotta love Jonathan Coulton. Does anyone want to know how to find the song in the PC files? Download GCFscape and go to Steam/steamapps/common/portal2/portal2 and open pak01_dir.vpk. From there go to sound/music and the file is called portal2_want_you_gone.wav. Drag to iTunes and enjoy!

Here's a bit of cut content that sheds a completely different light on the game. If they left this in it would've made the game much darker:

MASSIVE SPOILERS DO NOT CLICK UNLESS YOU'VE COMPLETED PORTAL 2

http://youtu.be/6Qswrj2RVGY

I'm not too sure how I feel about them removing that. It was removed because JK Simmons (Cave Johnson) felt uncomfortable with it. In a way I think I prefer the way it is in the game, but I like the way this far darker approach goes in line with the way some people saw GLaDOS in Portal:

According to the IGN article, the DLC will include "new test chambers for players, leaderboards, challenge mode for single and multiplayer modes, "and more." Really pleased to see the return of challenge mode. Hopefully they will update the game to include individual level select, that was one of the few things I didn't like about it.

It's a minor irk but it always ruins the atmosphere for me when Wheatley says "They told me if I ever switched on this flashlight I would die!"

Like everyone else in the room that pointed it out instantly, I also noticed that he called his torch a flashlight. I know it's just a small thing but it's like "Aww Wheatley now I know you're just that guy from the bank adverts reading a script".

Looking back on this game, I felt the designers held back on the puzzles. I know that accessibility is important, and it's good that casual fans can make it through the entire game. I'm just left wanting a few maps that are really difficult. However, I do NOT want the deluge of amateur maps. I'm sure there were gems in there somewhere, and I was probably just looking in the wrong places, but most maps I tried (mods for the first Portal) involved the creator going all out creating momentum maps that required inhuman accuracy and speed. I don't want "super hard" endless flinging maps; I just want maps that require some clever thinking. Maybe I'll have to make my own. :3

If you own the first game on Steam, try Portal: Project-Beta. It may be unfinished, but what's there is very well-made.

EDIT: My PS3 copy came in today. Too bad I can't play it online or link my Steam account.
