Falkner - Mareep
Bugsy - Quilava
Whitney - Flaaffy / Poliwag / Quilava
Morty - Flaaffy / Golbat
Chuck - Quilava / Ampharos
Jasmine - Poliwhirl / Quilava
Pryce - Ampharos / Typhlosion
Clair -

Whitney almost made me restart because of flinch-hax, but that was alright in the end through Super Potions. My Pokemon are quite underleveled at the moment, so I'm working on that before Clair.

Falkner: Overleveled Totodile is overleveled.

Bugsy: Ice Fang anyone?

Whitney: Heracross + Leer + Rock Smash = Win

Morty: Freaking sleeper. Had to face him a couple times. Bite + Chinchou saved the day.

Chuck: Aerial Ace Heracross and Spark Chinchou on a Poliwrath who refused to do anything but Focus Punch is lol.

Jasmine: Chinchou used Surf! Chinchou 2HKO'd everything!

Pryce: Brick Break Hera and Charge Beam Misdreavus tore things up. lolresttalkdewgong

Clair: Ice Fang + Ice Shard from Swinub + neutral attacks. Too easy.

Does anyone know how to get to the bottom-right section of the Ruins of Alph? I want a moon stone, but right now I'm lost in Union Cave. Ace trainers are ****** alll of my underleveled pokemon.

I'll never understand why everyone says Whitney is incredibly hard when she's really not...
:< Oh well. Nidorino's Double Kick shut it up nicely. Overall the game's been pretty smooth-sailing, but I had to face Clair like twice. Lance's Aerodactyl was probably the biggest threat in the entire game.

You could get a Moon Stone other than Ruins of Alph ya know. It's unfortunate tha I don't remember exactly where.

Anyways, do you guys know if it's possible to rng on HGSS yet? I want to RNG the Latios on Soul Silver, because the chance of getting the right nature and IV after spending so much time just running into it is so low. I know HGSS is new, and lacks the poketech, so I wonder if Smogon or somewhere has figured out how to RNG yet. (or RNG this legendary)

Thanks~

Also all level 60 and only 3 kanto badges left =3.

Nothing reliably can advance the frame that we know of.

Consistent HGSS RNG is still impossible.

That means getting a good Latios is pretty much a pain then ._. If only synchronize worked...

I believe you answered you own question. Fighting moves **** Whitney.

I fortunately didn't have a problem. I just kept biting with Gyarados till her Miltank till she ran out of milk drink.

EV training during the game run makes this game RIDICULOUSLY easier.

Even in the G/S/C days I never had a problem with Whitney. A lot of people complain that she's too hard but she really isn't. At all. :x

Happy birthday by the way. :p

Thank you for the birthday wish!

What made Whitney not hard in GSC? Did you run a Nidorino in those games as well?

Remember, normals are only weak against Fighting. Miltank is exactly what her name references, she's a tank. People probably didn't think that she would be literally stalling the entire match wasting the person's PP, and surviving more than 3 hits.

Like lets face it. If you didn't 1 or 2HKO Miltank she would bring the match back to square one. It was all about either crushing her, or outlasting her. Smart move one the Nidorino.

In GSC Milktank was ridiculously high leveled in comparison to what you'd expect and her Rollout flattened absolutely everything.

Someone teach me how to use the Safari Zone?

I know that there are certain items you place to make pokemon appear, but I don't understand the chart they use in Bulbapedia.

Someone tell me what to place to get rare pokemon like riolu? I could use some new rare pokemon to get people interested in trading with me. The Larvitar I caught is getting old and not many of my friends care to give me anything for it anymore...

Hell its getting that bad that I got a scyther for a larvitar egg.... well I guess he COULD say that he gave me a Scizor since he allowed me to evolve it to Scizor with my metal coat... I want Bullet Punch XD (I can tell Tery is going to come in here with his "I don't want to be gay by learning Bullet Punch" line)

I think the problem is that normal isn't as easily countered, and Attract can be really annoying. Fighting isn't an available type at that point in the game, and only a few learn fighting moves.

I found her to be a cinch in SS, but I recall having problems back in Gold. The difference being that back in Gold, I had Chikorita, Mareep, Wooper (possibly evolved), maybe something else. None of those counteract normal very well, nor can they resist rollout very easily.

In SS I had a female Steelix, which basically reduces Whitney's strategy to nothing.

I think it's really just a matter of having the right Pokémon or not, and it's much more likely that you'll have one of the three types that counter fire than the one type that counters normal.

Progress of the day:

Still training, only Ampharos left to train. I went to the mall and got 11,000+ steps, though.

I cleaned up Route 45 or whatever is south of Blackthorn and am sweeping out Dark Cave's other entrance, all the while grinding Zook the Swinub before facing Clair.

That's the trainers you're talking about. They're a pain.
Clair's Pokemon are just terrible (in a scary way). There's no other way to describe it.

This Latios is terrible. >_> Though for some reason it keeps appearing above/blow/beside Lavender town. Maybe he has a fetish for the dead.

Also, is there some pattern to roaming pokemon? It seems Latios has like a 20% chance of going north/west/south/east/randomloc. Reason why is when I'm in Lavender town if he is above/below/to the right one extra route and I predict he'll go that direction again, he does it a lot of times. If he doesn't, he usually goes to the left/right/up but rarely does he hop across kanto randomly. Just a thought.~

I dunno about a pattern for roamers, but I do find spots that I favor for encountering them. For the doggehs, the route that had the Sudowoodo, since there's only one small area of grass, and a good spot to run back and forth to get them to come to you. Plus, they seem to like that route. xD

On another note, I got to level eight on Voltorb Flip the other day. I still miss slots a lot, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. ^^ I think I was relying too much on hard logic and not enough on the occasional educated guess.

Grrr I'm so close to seeing every single pokemon in the Kanto dex. All I need are:

Omanyte (looking for helix fossil at the moment)
Zapdos
Moltres
Mew
Mewtwo

So, so, SO CLOSE!

I'm just so **** lazy to start spamming dusk balls while hoping the pokemon gets paralyzed by Thunder

lol I've got to catch 240 pidgeys and crap to trade to get all my platinum pokemon over, then breed the fully evolved pokes + evolve them if they have mid forms to finish my dex. It sounded easy "just get the pokedex filled on plat then transfer to SS" but now that I look at it... it's going to still be a lot of work. Fun work, though, I worked hard to get these pokes legally =D

3000 points at the Pokeathlon on mondays!
Ahh yes. That's one method but it wasn't the method I used, since I only have around 2800 points at best. I must've used the Dowsing Machine or something.

Anyways, I'm going back into the Dragon's Den to get my Dratini.

Hey guys,
http://serebii.net/heartgoldsoulsilver/pokewalker-area.shtml

If you didn't guess by the url that's the serebii hgss pokewalker area guide. Anyways, what does group A/B/C mean? Got over 900 watts today, and have 15+ PP-ups now. =]

The pokemon may be useless, but the items + Event pikachus are boss <.<
My best guess is that it corresponds to Morning/Day/Night, but don't take my word on that haha.
Anyways, I just realized you can catch the Legendary Birds and Mewtwo in this game. :x

Rayquaza is only obtainable if you can get the inverse legendary from a HG/SS cartridge, so it technically doesn't count.

I just mispelled it. A fault on my part.

I think it's just a randomly determined value, then depending on which group it selects, you'll run into two Pokémon during that particular transfer.

And Rayquaza
And where do you people get GrouNdon?????
Well, it's a ground type, clearly that was the origin of the name -- I've made mistakes like that before, where I realize after quite some time that a letter that I thought was/wasn't there isn't/is.

It's certainly not as ridiculous as calling me "Firust" when my name used to be "FirustheHedgehog", as too many people did. No one ever explained to me what "heHedgehog" means.

Progress:

Done training on Wild Pokémon and trainers -- now that I've got all of my Pokémon up to at least 40, I'm going to try my hand at the E4. I doubt I'll win, but it's zetta good training.
