Maybe. As far as I know, it's illegal to drive a car without any insurance at all. I'm not sure if the insurance has to be in the driver's name though.

I just asked a lawyer (for real)

it is legal, but if an accident occurs it still goes on my insurance and affects my premiums. But if he gets a speeding ticket it's against him.

Also my mom just told me never to let anyone drive my car, but I think I'm okay with ignoring that as long as rob is a safe driver. The alternative is that you all take public transport.

Sounds bad but the best way to drive safe is to turn the radio off and don't talk.

Suddenly I'm reminded of the time I started backing up the car when Rob was trying to get in. Talk about safe driving. :p

Yeah, and no one's gonna say anything about not having an N on your car anyways.

If they do, "some kids" must've taken it. Ez.

As long as don't drive like you're ******** nothing should happen.

So, I talked with Defender a bit, and he said this weekend he is more gonna look into coming.

Landon, in case he does come, would you be able to house 1 more?

yes but then two people will have to sleep on the floor lol. Obvs marth quads to decide who sleeps on the floor.

Also that would mean you'd probably have to have at least a couple people take transit (which is quite quick I believe from my house to Coquitlam).

I haven't played Defender since my first tourney where he knocked me out of losers!

Wait, it's illegal to have your car full of people right? Ok, what if...

they're strapped to the outside?

That way your still insured and it's legal!

Hey guys, I hear there's a road somewhere that has no speed limit :)

Just make sure Rob doesn't troll anyone on the road.
I lol'd

Play slow songs on the radio as a reminder.

I am fine with people talking to me while I drive. Also, no radio and no talking causes frequent awkward silences, which would probably be more distracting than talking lol.

Have people dress up like dead people and put them in the trunk. If they're not alive, they don't count, and if they're in the trunk, nobody will notice. There would be nothing illegal with that at all, right? :p

I am a safe driver, as half the Victoria smashers and Caiden can tell you.

Heh, funny the topic has been transportation to the venue...

Because I just found out yesterday that the venue, Home Video, is unavailable for the 24th. I had previously booked the tournament for that date, but when I called the store yesterday morning to confirm that I'd be going over to test/count their TVs, it was brought to my attention that there was a large Yu-Gi-Oh tournament scheduled to take place in the store that day. It was a miscommunication, and now we have some adjusting to do. I know some people have already bought their plane tickets, so re-scheduling is clearly out of the question. We've looked into a couple other options for venues (close to Home Video) over the last couple of days, but neither will work, so it's looking like the most likely option will be at SFU campus. I'm looking into that now.

Aside from the obvious, the biggest problem we have to face right now is TVs. We were set to go if we had been able to stay at Home Video; they have 11 working TVs, and Kodokan had another 2 for a total of 13. We can still access these TVs, but only if we can transport them back and forth between Home Video and SFU (or wherever the new venue may be), and we can't count on being able to leave them overnight. I know this is asking a lot, but we need to have anybody who can help move TVs around do whatever they can. That could very well include taking TVs from Home Video Friday night, bringing them up to campus Saturday morning, bringing them back down Saturday evening, and/or returning them to Home Video on Sunday. Fortunately, we should be able to get 3 TVs from the campus, but that by itself will be nowhere near enough to run this tournament successfully. I know I'm asking a lot right now, and I'm sorry, but I don't have much of a choice. =[

I can help with the TV moving since I live so close to Home Video but... I can't lift the big TVs on my own. Courier's courier service hiring... :(

Also, if the venue is going to be at SFU, that means the TV deliveries won't be happening until Sunday at the earliest right? (Because there's no way things are going to end before 10pm)

!!! This is disastrous news :(. Better confirm that new venue ASAP.
I'm doing the best I can! What a ****ty time not to have internet at home. >.>

where is meta

????????????
I talked to him on MSN earlier today. He probably won't be able to book the room himself or anything, but he gave me a lot of helpful info about the venue.

Edit @ Courier's last post: Yes, that is correct. The good thing about this is the venue will be open earlier and later than Home Video would be!

I sure, hope so, lol. There are a lot of rooms on campus though.

Oh, and Kevin, if you bring your car I'll do as much lifting and moving around as I possibly can. At this point, it looks like that'll be pretty much all I'll be doing before and after the tournament. :x
