This is Poliwhirl, quite possibly the greatest Pokémon in existence. He's based on a frog. Have you ever seen how cool frogs are? Here's a tree frog, one of the best types of frog.

"Poliwhirl doesn't look nearly as cool as that frog," you might say. Take a look at this actual game sprite:

You know who else thinks Poliwhirl is a great Pokémon? Satoshi Tajiri. He's nobody important, apart from, you know, the CEO of Game Freak and creator of Pokémon. Poliwhirl is Red's first Pokémon in the manga (technically Poliwag). He was also one of the Pokémon Center's mascots, up until a 4th gen redesign. The Pokémon he was featured next to? Pikachu and Charmander--quite possibly the two most popular Pokémon. Poliwhirl has never recieved the same level of care, but he's way too cool to be left out.

Pokémon has been on the cover of Time Magazine. Care to guess which Pokémon was front and center? The mascot, Pikachu? The first ever Pokémon, Rhydon? Fan favourites Charizard or Mewtwo? WRONG. It was this beast.

The cover asks: "Is it bad for them?" Hint: Poliwhirl can never be bad.

If you're ever playing Gen 2, you can capture a Poliwag on the route north of Cherrygrove. If you don't, you're basically giving up on playing the game with the coolest 'mon around. Train a Poliwhirl today.

That Poliwhirl probably got that Time mag cover done at Disneyland. No one gives a **** about Poliwhirl.

The cat's gotta shake his head at such attention mongering from Poliwhirl. I'd expect such nonsense from Tangela or Pinsir but not from Poliwhirl; I'm very disappointed.

Poliwhirl used to be another favorite pokemon of mine when I was a kid because the pokemon card was nice to look at and I still have that cheap gold burger king thingy.
Otherwise by Gen 3 I slowly realized I don't care about the Frog line. Especially politoad.

To be honest I did not frequently go to 4chan everyday until 5th gen. Exclusively /vp/ though in 4th gen cause drawthreads though.
I just enjoy the Dratini line more than Poliwhirl, while Gen 3 brought pokemon like Regice Spheal and this one into existence.

Welcome to the PGD.

You think this is bad, you should've been here for the Zelda talk.

I have a lot I could say about Robin Williams.

And I can't bring myself to say any of it.

I'm so tired, but I can't sleep.

I wonder how many times he sat in his bathroom in the pitch-black dark?

It's not that you're wrong, Max10n, it's that I believe Slush is completely right.

And I rightfully fear such an idea.

...from Slush.
