Actually, LSP is amazing, Lucina is more like Hot Dog Princess.

Midna's really more of a Marceline, and Lucina is more of a Flame Princess.

Think about it. Midna is a really important character in the stories she appears in and most people enjoy her. Lucina is ostensibly important and some people certainly enjoy her but she gets shoehorned in as a primary character or overshadowed by the regular cast.

I'll accept that judgement on Lucina, although I do have to advise that she was willing to shank Robin.

In both cases the royal title is more a pure title with different duties than would be associated with the station. In terms of responsibilities Midna was clearly a queen. Marceline is a little trickier to pin, I don't know if her inheritance of the title "Vampire Queen" implied duties or simply status.

Marceline became the Vampire Queen by slaying the prior Vampire King.

Midna retook the Twilight Throne by slaying the pretender king, Zant.
