More specifically, Ke$ha's use of irony to produce undisguised self-authorship, which when combined with her nontraditional/brilliantly misandrist lyrics draws attention to the performative nature of identity (especially gender/sexual identity), and so rejects categorization and therefore subjugation by the patriarchy.

Word. I don't disagree. Her performative identity doesn't have to be calculated to be exactly the way I presented it, and almost certainly isn't.

But that's kind of the point. She ends up kind of advertising that she's "just being her," which is totally awesome because instead of being a Free Woman or Cannibal or any category you can create, she's just playing and doing what she wants. By "being herself" or "just playing," she refuses categorization (which is obviously patriarchally mediated).

So yeah, I'm reading a ton into her just being herself, but that's because it's so damn awesome.
