You don't have to feel like a hypocrite, more people knowing about the anime being up there is for the best.

i miss OP manga sooooo much.
Me, too. =(

But it will be back soon. =)

Lots of text in this chapter. It made up for us not having any chapters in awhile.
Interested to see how this all develops after reading that last panel.

Sanji has the blood of okama in him, now.

I have to admit, that reveal made me LOL. I did not see that coming, at all. And the way Oda draws okama is just priceless. Funny, these ones are actually portrayed as a homosexual couple but they still have the transvestite faces. xD

But seriously guys, Sanji has the blood of okama in him. Should that be something to worry about? o_O

One Piece has just become stupid lately. I dropped it a few chapters back, has it become less dumb yet? Or is still irrelevant wacky adventures under the sea?

"Under the sea" is the only real difference between the recent chapters and the 600 or so you've read up to this point

Reading chapters in succession, then having to wait for chapters by-the-week teaches a valuable lesson in how one should judge a story. Not everything is a climax: we're meeting new characters, places, and more of the side-plots like
one of the four emperors
are being revealed. I'm not sure why it is that you're dissatisfied with the recent chapters, but you have to allow some weeks to expand the universe by adding and delving into a new environment in order for the bigger picture to flow.

Or it just doesn't float your steeze anymore regardless. That's cool too.

someone hasn't been paying to the series. This has been a anticipated arc since water 7.
& how is it dumb.

Yep, saying something sucks without providing any rational reason or logic....we have ourselves a winner.
Most fans says they like One Piece because of the story it has... but that's what kind of sucks about it.
How comes I gonna go around the world a bunch of time going after something I don't even know what it is, just the idea of something like that is ******, imo the only good thing that can be pointed out is the message that they care about their friends and the willing to try being better after everything.

No one can reasonably say its story is its selling point

Some people admire its ever-growing scale
Some people enjoy the intensity of the characters' emotions and actions
Some people like seeing the characters interract with each other
Some people are fascinated by the inclusion of the side-plots and the intrigue within the government

All these factors (plus the main storyline by itself) being found in a single series I think can be properly described as epic.

I admire how it keeps the focus on small, intense fights and plotlines without ever causing the reader to lose focus of what really matters, both in their world and in ours...Oda is a truly great storyteller. He twirled the basic idea of a quest into an amazing narrative that at once is both coherent in its intention and enjoyably side-tracked into various side-paths along the way.

It's the one of only a handful of manga i can name that has a reasonable pace all throughout (with unforeseen power jumps at a minimum), and the zany actions of the characters, while predictable, are immensely enjoyable, heroic, and the sort of thing people can shed manly tears for. It's very clear what they're all fighting for, and fighting for one's comrades is the most cliche aspect of any shounen manga for a reason - it's damned good at pulling emotions and justifying intentions and actions.

Finally, like derp said, it possesses a truly grand scale - forget your other shounen mystery and gag whatsits, the notion of a huge quest for something than may only exist in the hearts of romanticists is something that isn't done well often enough, and if havoc, humour and full-on **** occur partway, then so be it. One Piece is one of my favourite manga, and unless it explodes into pointless power creep like Bleach or becomes utterly unimaginative, I can't imagine I'll ever dislike it.

If it does, there's always Negima. And Gurren Lagann.

yeah, I'm not saying One Piece is bad, it's just that for my likes, it's not enough, it's kind of boring, but it's a good manga though, and I went throw 400 chapters in the anime, so I know what I'm judging for my likes.

One Piece itself is good, if they change the pursuit of the "One Piece" for some other thing, something a little more realistic, or at least something they would know what they're after.
inb4, I'm not saying it's bad, but that it could be better, which is what I meant when I said: "it's not enough"

I'm pretty sure it's been made out clearly enough that it's a huge store of treasure. What makes it seem intangible is the legend it comes along with. If there were an equally large sum of treasure somewhere else, it wouldn't matter as much as the one piece left behind by the pirate king.

If the one piece does wind up being entirely symbolic and not gold at all, we'll just have to see how Oda interprets it among his characters

Why the heck do you want a fixed goal - that leaves nothing to the imagination. There are hundreds of stories out there that have definite goals, and the reason One Piece stands out is because it leaves room for romanticism. In the end it might be the adventure itself that's more valuable than the treasure, or something cliche like that, but the fact that it is vague contributes to its appeal.

That's what I think.
Could also be what @john! said, but I kind of doubt it.
but if they come with something like it's an absolute akuma no mi, it's gonna dissapoint a lot of ppl.
Now many ppl are expecting too much out of it, it gotta be worthy.

It can't be a devil fruit, Roger and his crew didn't like them
That could be a reason for that being the treasure. Think about it, they don't like it, so they hide it and put it somewhere there, a place really hard to get so that nobody finds it.
That's just an hypothesis though, not saying that's what I think, because it's not.
AND I HOPE IT'S NOT WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN!!!

...ok, if he hadn't wanted anyone to find it, why would he announce it to the world before his death?

Sure, but he wouldn't glorify something that he doesn't like as some holy grail.

and I know it's just a hypothesis, I'm just being a bugger
