This is an awesome guide. I can much appreciate the handy work you've compiled here.

By the way, I would vote Battlefield as one of his better Neutrals. Nair from a short hop spaces perfectly there with the hitbox poking through the platforms, and ***** a lot of pixels if the opponent doesn't stay grounded. Uair also keeps them up there.

I've noticed that if you full hop a bair from about 1.5 g&w lengths away, it will knock the opponent right above you without knocking them away. You have to move through them though. (I only did this on the sandbag, and haven't really tried it yet, but I was able to consistently do it.) This sets them up for a shorthopped nair.

I posted it here because I don't think this deserves it's own thread.

I've come to realize that my Game & Watch is a bit too pattern like. I started analyzing why that is and I noticed that it's because I don't use the B-moves often enough. They just don't seem that good to me. Judgement has a lot of start up time and I have a tough time landing it. Chef is okay but as far as projectiles go it's not the best. It only hits from close to mid range and I'd rather do a short hop aerial in such a situation. And I always forget to use Up-B as an attack.

In short, I'd like to know how some of you incorporate the B-moves into your G&W so that mine won't be so two dimensional.

well use the up b when you need the extra height. don't be afraid to run off the stage really far, as long as your about level with the stage when you start using it you should be fine for coming back.

chef imo, is only really good for applying pressure to those recovering.

Hammer again for edgeguarding in some situations, like against snake. or only to punish, maybe for tech chasing but i don't us it much.

Well, I think we should have one, but if so, IMO, someone else should make it for a change, besides me, you, Esc, and OBM, :/.

Problem is Neb, who else is active on the G&W boards? Maybe Nappy can start the thread; I can do it if he can't or no one else wants to.

Back to my Dthrow guide then.

biggest pun eva...
two dimensional LOL
but yer its a matter u going for the flukey hammer kill from time to time and training ur memory to use that up b. i dont really use him but i know with any character if u only use 1 button ur gonna get fairly axed.
(generally)
up b is handy coz itll hurt them on the way up and giv u the option of hitting them back down as gw can still attack afterwards. just a tip off the top of my head... .like i said i dont really play him at all..
catcha round :):psycho:

The air of the trumpet? it can kill at 0 percent, depending on the char and stage.

It's probably just me but I find his nair very situational. I know its a great move I but can never really implement it into my play, I hardly ever use it. I just rarely have an oppenent like near enough to me to use it providing that he isnt using an attack. Should it be used mostly when the oppenent is like above? Because I probably use Uair, which i guess is the wrong move lol. Cheers

it is situational, u can also pillar with it Upb cancel to Nair..every gw move is situational first off, you dont want to be just spamming bair <_<

You should use it more on big heavy chars or when they are ontop of a platform. Its really a great move and the last frames cause your opponent to fastfall and you then can nail him with a up smash. Its agreat combo that can deal 30 dmg and maybe a kill at 90% depending on yer friends char

I've big problems against Wolf.
He always kills me with moves like fsmash, dsmash and bair.
He runs, neutral special move, fsmash, when i'm out of the stage, he makes a bair.
When I come to attack him -> shield, down smash etc.
Can someone tell me , how to beat wolf?

assuming you are GW, when you attack him, just use GW'S bair, breaks through the sheild
you can always use downB to absorb his gun for your own attack, but you will be vulnerable to his fsmash, but it's just much easier to avoid the gun altogether and you can easily avoid the fsmash

it's probably just the player, but i heard wolves love oil.. get him to bust out the blaster and soak the bum in black gold

Just pointing out that Bowser isn't mentioned on the D-throw list. I'm going to assume that he's red since he's the heaviest character, but I just wanted to make sure you were aware of it, for the sake of 100% completion.

Some of this information is obsolete because it is old.

He's a very good G&W, but he just hasn't gone to update this guide for whatever reason.

* On the first pull of a stock, you cannot pull a 1 or a 2.
Mmmm.. im quite sure that i've got 1's on the first pulls of a stock; after fast falling from the cloud after losing a life, used side+b while "invencible", and pulled a 1 ?!?!?
Anyways whats more strange is that once i didnt get the 12% recoil damage... ( i didnt connect the hit ) while pulling a 1 on the invincibility time after going down from the cloud...

( sorry about the weird english, not my native language )

BTW, Great guide!! I main G&W and here discovered a lot of new and helpful information. Thanks!

Awesome OBM! I was curious when someone would do it based on tech distance. G&W's is so sad that lain hit me with a Dsmash even though I tech rolled the dthrow xD

Thanks a ton for that, this should make tech chasing easier now that I know which ones go a short way.
(shame that MK is on the border :/ )

The pictures of the attacks are still broken links.

Great list showing roll/techroll distances which really helps. G&W's techroll is garbage; that's why it's amazing getting a Dthrow in during a mirror match.

ya i don't have any means to take pictures, nor do i know how to put them up w/o the pictures going down in a few months like they did before, i'd prefer to have a more permanent solution, if one exists.

Also, i'd like to update my guide, but not sure what i should add or change, usually when i read through it the stuff is old but still aplicable, any suggestions?
