Whatever it is, I just don't want Peach's dress to look painted on again, or for Toon Link to look out of place without his cel-shaded filters.
Ironic considering that the often-used reason against WW Link's inclusion in Brawl was "but the cel-shaded graphics won't fit with Brawl's realistic graphics!"
Now, I have come up with 10 new items I would like to see in SSB4. Here you go. Don't quote the whole post!
Short video of an Animal Crosser getting stung.
Bee Hive - the bee hives of the Animal Crossing series; be cautious of this item because you cannot pick it up at all, instead it can only be attacked like the Soccer Ball item; when the Bee Hive hits a character or lands on the ground, it breaks and many bees swarm out to sting nearby opponents (including yourself) for a few seconds and the damage percentages rapidly grow much like how Olimar's Final Smash raised damage percentages while the spaceship took off (1% per sting)
Bombchu - the mouse-like mobile bomb first appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time; it works just like the Hothead item in which it moves along the stage when you throw it, it will explode when it collides with an opponent or an container (Crate, Barrel, etc.) or another explosive (Bob-omb, Smart Bomb, etc.)
Djinn - the elemental entities from the Golden Sun series; they jump and run around the stage; picking up one does nothing but picking up two, three, or four of the same color of Djinni will enable you to summon one of the 12 Summons from the original Golden Sun game; you summon a Summon by simply pressing the B button; much like the Dragoon Parts, other opponents can steal your Djinn by attacking you to make you drop them; to ensure that the game won't confuse the controls between Final Smash and Summon, the Smash Ball won't appear while the Djinn are on the stage; to ensure that the gameplay won't be too broken, the Dragoon Parts won't appear while the Djinn are on the stage; only one color of Djinni will appear until the Summon is called; it is like a cross between Dragoon Parts, Final Smashes, and Pokeball Pokemon
EDIT: per Kuma's suggestion, I changed the gifs into links
Ramses: 2 Venus Djinn
Cybele: 3 Venus Djinn
Judgment: 4 Venus Djinn
Kirin: 2 Mars Djinn
Tiamat: 3 Mars Djinn
Meteor: 4 Mars Djinn
Atalanta: 2 Jupiter Djinn
Procne: 3 Jupiter Djinn
Thor: 4 Jupiter Djinn
Nereid: 2 Mercury Djinn
Neptune: 3 Mercury Djinn
Boreas: 4 Mercury Djinn
Game Boy - the original Game Boy from 1989; it is very durable that you can throw it around; when it hits an opponent, the opponent is stunned for a few seconds as if they were hit by the Deku Nut item; when an opponent walks/runs past the Game Boy that you threw, they pick it up and play it and become distracted for a few seconds; the distracted opponent is unable to attack as they walk around with eyes on the Game Boy screen like a five-year-old boy walking around in the mall while playing with his Nintendo DS (they snap out of it sooner if they were attacked)
Goomba's Shoe - the famous green wind-up shoe from Super Mario Bros. 3; your character loses the ability to use moves (except for up B moves in which you use to get out of the shoe) and speed but gains higher jumping height and the ability to footstool opponents every time you land; you stop riding the shoe when you get attacked with a smash move or a meteor smash or when the effects wear off
Ice Flower - debuted in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time and later appeared in Super Mario Galaxy and New Super Mario Bros. Wii; it is the ice version of the Fire Flower item in Smash; you can use it the same way you use the Fire Flower item only it shoots blizzards that can freeze enemies at high percentages (it is essentially the mobile version of the Ice Climbers' down B move)
Mike - debuted in Kirby's Dream Land as an item and later as one of the many Copy abilities in subsequent Kirby games; pick it up and it does nothing but press the A button and you will start singing, the sound waves will damage nearby opponents within the radius much like the Barbara the Bat Assist Trophy; you can use this item three times before it disappears
POW Block - debuted in Mario Bros. way back in 1983 and appeared in many Mario games since then; throw it to the ground and it will produce a powerful earthquake; the earthquake will cause all grounded opponents to get buried as if they were hit with the Pitfall item and cause all grounded containers (Crates, Barrels, etc.) to break open and let items scatter and cause all grounded explosive items (Bob-ombs, Smart Bombs, etc.) to explode
EDIT 2: per Pieman's suggestion, the giant pics are replaced with a small pic and two links
The toy. The WiiWare game.
Ultra Hand - it is a real-life toy created by Gunpei Yokoi and released in 1967 and has a WiiWare game exclusive to Japanese Club Nintendo members; pick it up and it will be stored above your character's icon much like how the Dragoon Parts are stored in Brawl; other characters can steal your Ultra Hand by attacking you to make you drop it much like how Dragoon Parts are in Brawl; when you have the Ultra Hand stored and you fall offscreen, the item will be automatically activated and it will quickly extend all the way to the nearest ledge and pull you back up (it is basically auto tether recovery)
Whirlwind - a pinwheel-like item from The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks; it works like Link's Gale Boomerang only without the boomerang returning part and you use the A button instead of the B button when you use this item; smash forward and hold it forward while pressing the A button will make the tornado blow straight ahead; smash forward and hold it upward while pressing the A button will make the tornado blow diagonally upward ahead; smash forward and hold it downward while pressing the A button will make the tornado blow diagonally downward; the tornado merely blows the opponents away in a similar manner to Squirtle's Water Gun and moves items further away in a similar manner to Link's Gale Boomerang
