Kojima didn't do a lot of begging, exactly. He and Sakurai are buds or something, and he asked Sakurai about Snake being in Melee, but it was too far along at that point to add him in. So, when Brawl time came round, he asked again, and that's why he's here.

Also, whoever said that Star Wars was okay, no. Just no. Smash is about Nintendo game characters. The 3rd party characters appeared on Nintendo systems, and everyone originated in games. That's the heart and soul of what Smash is about. To ruin it with non-game characters would be losing sight of what it's about in favor of money and satisfying some fanboys. That idea is also why Sakurai has stated that no anime characters will make it. /rant

Sonic and Snake can stay. Its just that MM is the only new third party character I think should be added.

And yes Brinstar Depths needs to make a comeback. Why they chose the other stage for Brawl, I'll have no idea.

The chances of Banjo and Kazooie getting into the next Smash Bros game is almost zero because RARE is second party to Microsoft. In other words, Microsoft owns RARE so unless RARE decides to go free lance (which they really can't afford to do having lost most of their best talent to other companies after they left Nintendo), there's pretty much no chance and even then, the last Nintendo Banjo game was "Banjo Air(?)" and I think that was four years ago.

I don't have a problem with Sonic or Snake staying either. Nintendo and SEGA are so buddy buddy now that I can't possibly imagine things becoming bad between the two of them before the next Smash and, as for Snake, Sakurai and Kojima are best friends so unless something really big happens between the two of them, Snake's not going anywhere either. I really want Square Enix to be represented but no singular character really deserves to represent the company as a whole (although Crono would be awesome but I'm not fully aware if his copyright issues have been cleared up) and I think Namco deserves some props simply because they've helped Nintendo out so much in past. I absolutely HATE the idea of Pac-man, Klonoa would be cool but unlikely, a "Tales of" character doesn't seem too likely either although Lloyd has made cameos in several games, and a Soul Calibur character, to me at least, would be very out of place with the Nintendo characters (but then again, so is Snake...).

Meh. I was never really in favor of having 3rd party characters, because I sorta like the idea of it being a clash of the Nintendo titans.

Mega Man seems to be one of the only tolerable 3rd party characters I can think of. I have a hard time imagining Square allow any of their characters to be in SSB, but I don't know why.

Oh, and DEFINITELY no more than one character per 3rd party franchise.
Agreed completely. Sakurai isn't to much in favor of having third party characters either. He considers them "guest appearances". Anymore than 3 third party characters would definately be overboard.

Also, Sakurai obviously wants to focus on mainstream Nintendo titles, not Third-party titles. So while Knuckles or Shadow would be nice, I still stick by the "one characetr per third party franchise" rule.

A third party character that actually seems quite possible for SSB4 is Megaman. He is very popular among fans and very recognizable. I can definately see that happening in SSB4.

And WTF is up with the Star Wars thing? No. That would just ruin it. So would anybody from an anime or anybody that doesn't originate in a Nintendo game. And no Banjo-Kazooie, they're second party to Microsoft now when it comes to console gaming.

These are third-party characters I would like to see playable in Smash 4:

Super Mario RPG: Geno

Banjo-Kazooie: Banjo & Kazooie, Gruntilda, and Mumbo Jumbo

These are third-party characters I'm okay with appearing in Smash 4's playable roster:

Metal Gear Solid: Snake

Sonic

Megaman

Kingdom Hearts: Roxas/Sora

Phoenix Wright and/or Apollo Justice (that's the 2nd Ace Attorney's name, correct?)

I'm also okay with Star Wars characters being playable in Smash 4 (an exception to my "I don't want characters with non-game origins in Smash 4" beliefs; another exception is Paul from the Pokemon anime, but he's technically first-party).
Geno doesn't deserve to be playable.
Banjo-Kazooie doesn't deserve three reps.
One KH character is a stretch in my opinion. But two?
There's also Miles Edgeworth for the PW series, but I don't really think it could get anyone past Phoenix himself.

Star Wars and Pokemon anime characters: NO.

3rd party

knuckles, dig dug, and mega man (exe sorta the origonal suit lacks design or 1 specialy made for smash)

not asking for to much am i?
Shadow would probably get in before Knuckles. Dig Dug would be an awesome "WTF?" character, but he probably won't get in.

And on the Mega Man design...

Classic or GTFO.

apperantly you dont know the order of apportance. knuckles/ tails well alwayse come before shadow, seeing their more important and were first ever characters in sonic. if it wernt for knucks sonic wouldnt be were he is today. same with tails sadly

mega man classic has no design, he looks like hes wearing spandex in my opinion. maby the newest ds version of him when his hair is stick out. yes dig dug ftw and makes pacman not be in smash. to be honest i perfer ms pacman over mr pacman.

oh and shadow was a AT only becuase he had a element that wouldnt mess up the game as much seeing knuckles would be a fire atribute or a lil mac AT. shadow stopping time wouldnt make a differance and wouldnt copy any nintendo AT.

any way why do i feel by introducing 3rd party characters smash is gona end up being nintendo vs 3rd partys in the near future.. hope not and if so let it be an entire differnt game on the same progam smash uses

Are we looking at the same character?

No design? This guy is, like, one of the first cyborg video game heroes. He's designed simply, yes, and without excess junk like later version of Mega Man, but to say he has no design is just ridiculous. If you were gonna take that shot at Kirby, whatever, but classic Mega Man? No.

First off, let me just say that I am NOT A FAN OF SHADOW. I know you didn't make that implication in your post, but I just wanted to say that in case someone sees I support Shadow and calls me a nonsensical fanboy or something. Really, I don't care who gets the position for a new Sonic rep. Logically, Shadow would get in first.

He was made into an AT before Knuckles and Tails.
He's the only Sonic character other than Sonic to get his very own game.
According to a poll, he's the 2nd most popular Sonic character (I don't have a link, so if you choose not to believe me, I'd understand), in addition to being more well-known to newer fans of he series.
And, finally (here come the flames), he has more potential than Tails and Knuckles to not be a clone. Sakurai would probably make him into one, but that doesn't change the fact that he has more potential.

Golden Sun+Isaac have probably been mentioned hundreds of times already, but it is definitely what I would like to see in the next SSB (the new golden sun DS raises my hopes!)
If I had any choice in making Isaac, I'd make him a totally grounded character that can solidly counter aerial approaches. This stems from my personaly bias against Marth+MK, but I really want a character that can just uptilt the instant the opponent jumps towards him and knock him away. :lick: yeaaaaaaaaaahhhh, anti-air!

Also, I want more options and flexibility with stage music. Or at least FD music that doesn't become incredibly annoying.

No more Sonic characters; Sonic's annoying enough as it is and the rest of the cast is just as bad or worse than he is. *remembers when Knuckles used to be cool*
Meh. I don't particularly want any Sonic characters, but I wouldn't mnd seeing how some would play in Smash.

But seriously, Big the Cat for SSB4.

Didn't RARE pretty recently make Diddy Kong Racing and Viva Pinata for DS?

Big the Cat for SSB4.
Him and Knuckles I wouldn't mind seeing in Smash 4.
But seriously...

I would like to see spyro. Breathing fire balls and glyging. Beautiful
I agree.
I've always loved Spyro games.
If there would be four more 3rd party characters, I would want Banjo-Kazooie, Mumbo, and Spyro...
and...

6 Characters I want to see in Smash 4:

Tubba Blubba

Wart

Bigs the Cat

Banjo-Kazzoie

Mumbo

Spyro

Banjo Kazooie WILL NOT HAPPEN. They are second party to Microsoft meaning that they belong to Microsoft, and they can't be in a Nintendo Wii game. They are NOT third party, they are second party to a non-Nintedno company. I don't think you need much more explanation than that. :ohwell:

Also, some people complain that "But Rareware still makes games for the DS!" Yes that is true, because Microsoft doesn't have handhelds, but is SSB a DS game? I don't think so. If there was an SSB DS, however, the chances would still be extremely slim. Banjo Kazooie would most likely need to be in a game developed by Rare if they were ever on another company's console. Plus, Sakurai showed no interest in a SSB for DS. So basically, it can't happen. And three Banjo Kazooie reps is just RIDICULOUS, whoever said that.

And about the SONIC, KNUCKLES and SHADOW thing, I have to agree with the people saying Knuckles would get in before Shadow. Knuckles is just as popular and has been around since the good old days of Sonic. Tails would even get in before Shadow, but always thought it would be cool if Tails was an Assist trophy that followed you around and gave you extra jumps or something.

Why would I tell you guys that?
It was me who wanted three B-K reps. I am well aware that Rare belongs to Microsoft, but did anybody really need to tell that to my face? And I understand about complaining about wanting three reps for Banjo-Kazooie.

Anyway, I have an idea for a Pokeball Pokemon: Bronzong! When summoned it brings about one of five effects:

1) Puts opponents within a certain distance to sleep for a bit longer than most other attacks, etc. usually do

2) At first it does nothing, but ten seconds after it disappears, the opponent in the lead is attacked by its Future Sight

3) Forms a barrier over its summoner, making the summoner resistant to projectiles and damage from attacks, although the summoner can still be launched from non-projectile attacks and can't protect from really powerful attacks such as Ness/Lucas's PK Starstorm and Deoxys's energy beam

4) Activates Trick Room and temporarily reverses the speed of all fighters (for example, Sonic would be really slow and Bowser would be as fast as Pikachu)

5) Uses Gyro Ball and attacks like Latias and Latios, but lasts a shorter time, but causes its victims to become dizzy

If anybody has an opinion for my idea for Bronzong's effect, please post a reply with your comment. Thank you!

Yes, I don't know much about Sonic, but I'd think that adding in Shadow before Knuckles and Tails would be like adding in Wario before Luigi and Yoshi.

As far as Banjo and Kazzoie does, they really really really have no chance. I don't even get why people have any hope for them at this point. They are owned by Microsoft now. Aka Nintendo's business rival. I don't think anything else really needs to be said.

I think Eggman should be in Smash 4 before Shadow. Eggman can ride his Egg Walker from Adventure 2. He is also less likely than Shadow for Sakurai to make a clone of. Eggman has been around longer than Shadow. If SSB4 is going to have only one Sonic villain, it should be Eggman. And I'm not that big a Sonic fan.

Shadow, hands down. Before Eggman gets in, we'd need him, in addition to Knuckles and Tails, and 4 Sonic reps just isn't going to happen.

Agreed wholeheartly. Shadow was would probably have different B moves and the same or slightly different A moves.

You won't find Adobe here in Nairobe.
And for grabbing, Eggman is going to use his own two hands, am I right?
Actually, he could probably use the claw that extends from it that he uses to steal the emeralds... (I really don't play much Sonic.) He doesn't do much action himself in general. He always uses a machine to help him, and he'd have machine based attacks, either using forms of artillery or crazy gadgets.

No, he'll magically grab the enemy with his magic powers of epic pwnage.

But seriously, do you guys think Eggman has a huge chance of getting in? Not to sound rude, but... it seems like a big stretch to me.
