Gardevoir or any other 3rd gen Pokemon will never be in the game. Neither will Pichu. Those gens are dead, no need to have them in. Lucario will probably be taken out as well. That's way to many Pokemon by the way.

By the way, Jigglypuff isn't popular in Japan. I hate it when people say "____ is so popular in Japan!". Jiggs will stay just because she's part of the original 12 and she's got an original moveset that no one else can really take.

No, I really really don't like Japan. But she's old, so she's obviously not popular anymore. I hate how people say "____ is popular in Japan though!" and give no proof. Give me proof that Jiggs is still popular in Japan.
"But she's old, so she's obviously not popular anymore."

That sentence is so stupid I don't know what to think. Are you an idiot? Old =/////= not popular. Most longtime fans of ANY series will tell you the old games are the best. Even some newer fans. Pokemon Red/Blue? Obviously the best Pokemon games in most Pokefans' opinions. The first 150 Pokemon? Obviously the best Pokemon in most Pokefans' opinions. If you think something is not popular just because it's old, you're REALLY not worth my time.

I'm not talking about old things in general. Just older Pokemon. Old Pokemon are easily forgotten unless they're in the anime (she isn't anymore) especially because Pokemon is mainly targeted towards little kids.

Also, stop being such a jerk. "That sentence is so stupid", "Are you an idiot?", "You're REALLY not worth my time".

What the hell is your problem? If idiots like you got your way EVERY gaming franchise would suck. Because then every time a new character comes in, oh, get rid of the old one. Rosalina would be the new Princess Peach. Meta Knight would be the new Kirby. The hunters in Metroid Prime Hunters would replace Samus. And all of the crappy fourth generation Pokemon would replace the actually GOOD ones. Retro = better, 90% of the time.

And if the amount of Pokemon reps is too much for you (it's 4, for heaven's sake!), you're going to have to deal. As was pointed out in the link posted by SkylerOcon, in Japan, Pokemon is even more popular than it is here, and it's not exactly unpopular here except with close-minded idiots that think Pokemon is for babies. Pokemon is extremely popular, it deserves 4 reps.

I doubt third generation will get in now, but that's because Sakurai just skipped over it (either that or the Pokemon company insisted that Lucario got the spot instead, he has said they were hard to work with).

Old Pokemon are forgotten by the little kids who have ruined Pokemon. I honestly don't give a **** what they want. If anyone else forgets them they're forgetting the glory days of Pokemon.

Just to add, with Smash, Japan has priority over America. Jigglypuff will remain as her own character.

I'm just thinking logically about Pokemon. The higher ups want the latest Pokemon in for advertisment sake. They've really got no reason to put in a Pokemon like Gardevoir or Blaziken, especially since they aren't even popular anymore. Lucario will likely lose his popularity when the next gen comes and they'll take him out.

Also, Pokemon Trainer is 3 characters and 9 characters is WAY to many for any series.

Stop being such a jerk. You have no reason to call me an idiot.

Also how have kids ruined Pokemon when Pokemon is targeted for kids in the first place? Kids have always loved and been a part of the Pokemon community.

It won't advertise, but that doesn't mean it won't happen. I don't think ROB is going to have anything more than cameo appearances at this point, but it sure didn't stop him from being added. Fire Emblem wasn't even in America until Melee sparked popularity, and I'm pretty sure that wasn't purposeful.

You may need to get yourself a calculator...
Pikachu + Lucario + Jiggs = 3. 3 + 3 = 6.

Where's the 9? And Pokemon Trainer is ONE character.

Kids have ruined Pokemon because look at it -- we've gone from 2 legendaries to 3 legendaries to 8 legendaries to 12 legendaries, and I'd bet money it's because the little kids are all "ooh big Pokemon I want that game now". And don't tell me it's just for kids, because that "kid" audience can't fully appreciate the game. I'm sure none of them know what EVs, or IVs, or anything is, or how to manipulate Hidden Power, anything like that.

Umm, what does that mean?
It means everything.

Poke-priority, also known as "Poke-precedence", is the totally accepted standard by which all Pokemon are judged, in accordance with Section B.12 of Dexter's Law, subcode 255.

It's nothing. The last post on that thread with the "proof" in it used the term, and it's just...ridiculous

Those Pokemon aren't popular and they won't advertise. It just won't happen. MAYBE there's a 1% chance or something of them being in but you can say that about anyone. ROB is extremely important to Nintendo's history and he had been making a lot of cameos lately so that's why he's in. I really don't see your point with Fire Emblem.

If you didn't notice I was replying to a Pokemon roster with 9 Pokemon on it.

I don't mean Pokemon is only for kids, I know all about EVs and IVs since I used to play before it got boring. I mean it's target audience is kids and most of the fanbase is kids. Blaming kids for more legendaries is just stupid. It's not like there is solid proof they caused that. It was probably just the Pokemon developers being extremely stupid again.

I see. I wasn't even thinking about Pokemon when I read that. I was thinking of pigs.

I've found plenty of Mewtwo fan art that was for mature audiences, and I must say it was great!
Same with Eevee,Kirlia, and Snorlax X Misty.

All those I listed for Smash.

THIS SH*T JUST GOT REAL, YO

I was going to stay out of this, but this is a horribly stilted view of things. Nobody is supposed to know about EVs, IVs, or anything. God, I hate it when people bring that up like it somehow makes them superior as far as Pokemon is concerned.

EDIT - @Darkwashu: Zangoose is surprisingly popular as well, though I'm still pretty sure that Gardevoir takes the cake. :p

No, it just means that there's a level of depth in the game that little kids can't appreciate.

EDIT: But the Effort Ribbon lady told me my Pokemon worked really hard!

I just googled Snorlax X Misty, no results sadly.

No, it just means that some really obsessive fans found the mechanic the developers put in there with the intent of making each player's Pokemon adventure unique, ensuring no two Pokemon are ever the same.

And when they found this, they exploited it in ways it wasn't meant to be used. :ohwell:

That's like saying wavedashing is bad. Maybe they weren't mean to be used like that but hey, it helps you win so there's no reason not to use them.

Well,I could link you to it but um...you know...18+ site...:embarrass

Sound familiar? :ohwell:
Coincidentally, I didn't wavedash in Melee, despite knowing of it and how to perform it.

I just feel that way about stuff like that. Glitches that are just random and fun (like the guy on Cinnabar Island's Gym Roof) are one thing, but playing the game contrary to how it was intended just doesn't sit well with me.

That's stupid. Intentionally playing the game in a way that makes it have less depth.

You forget, at heart all fighting games were meant to be played to win. Playing with wavedashing is how it's supposed to be played.

Quoted for pure, untainted, flawless, perfectly epic truth.

Games are for fun, not for exploitation of functions and mechanics.

I'm in a need to work off my meat. I enjoy viewing pornography where a red haired child is violated by an artist's interpretation of a large animal-like sumo wrestler. [/sarcasm]

How is exploiting it NOT fun? These exploits only make the game more deep, there's nothing wrong with them at all.

Har,har,har,you naughty boy.

But you seriously want a link to them? o_o

Erm...Ashely for SSB6
Yes. That must look hilarious. Snorlax X anything is gold.

I know, I'm ashamed of myself. :p

How is the game intended to be played?
Pokemon?

Specifically concerning EVs and IVs, they're there so that every Pokemon is different, and will grow and level up in a unique way, no matter how many times you play the game. It reflects the whole "love and understand your Pokemon, and you'll be more powerful" sh*t that Ninty impresses on us via the TV show and dialogue in the games.

They're not, however, there so that "in the know" Pokemon fans can completely control how their Pokemon grow stat-wise, thereby making ridiculously powerful Pokemon: impossible when playing the game unaware of EVs and IVs.

And what if that is what a few people think is fun?
Then by all means, they should do it. But they should not look down on those who don't play that way, whether by choice or not. Some of us like to play the games without searching for little things we can exploit. That really doesn't mean we're stupid and don't appreciate the game to its fullest. That's all I'm saying.
