What's a good way to get rid of a spot dodging habit? I know that stopping from playing gets rid of bad habits, but I was just wondering if this specific thing could be worked out.

There's a few ways...

As long as you aren't choosing it as an instinctive defensive reaction then spotdodging is fine. It's real important to snake as well.

But uhhh don't play for a while...

Realize u have a problem and keep it in mind constantly so you can alleviate the issue...that's how i learned to tech and sdi(considering i use to not even know what it was...).

Realize there are better and other options and try to figure them out by going back and studying which times you spotdodged and why and what you could of done in place and if the spotdodge was warranted.

Keep your hands off the trigger buttons for a while :troll::awesome:

Yeah, I think everyone has that habit.

Especially when the pressure is on.

I try to actively think about everything that I'm doing, which seems to help.

Lol that doesn't seem right either; in that case, another snake could drop his shield, then ftilt1 before ftilt2 could come out.

Look. I got this directly from the frame data thread/Ran. You even agreed with it and said it explained several things...so idk if your confused or what but...let me clarify.

Hitbox comes out at frame - 4
First IASA Frame – 11(for ftilt 2 only)

http://www.smashboards.com/showpost.php?p=13180194&postcount=70

AdoB=advantage on block ftilt is -5.

and this is where it starts http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=258332&page=4

Tbh I didn't realize that it included shield drop.

Obviously haven't gone over this for ages, but I seem to remember 7 frames, as Diddy can bair oos I'm between ftilt hits (tested this to hell and back), but cannot fair oos (8 frames).

It was my understanding that diddy's jump was 3 frames.

I could be wrong.

But he definitely can bair oos in between ftilt hits, but cannot fair oos between them.

Coolies.

So I suppose then I thought that ftilt1 was -9 on shield lol

Whatever, it doesn't make too much of a difference. But knowing what your opponent can actually do oos does. Like Diddy and his broken bair :D

I also remember Susa (or maybe it was ran...) saying our jump was 11, not 10. Frame data is so dodgy...

Is there a consistent pattern to the direction someone is moved when they get blown up by a c4 stuck to them, & they're shielding? I've been seeing things like they'l always go left, & then i'll try it again with same character, & stage just to see a new pattern. T_T

Probably depends upon the location it's placed on the person. I recall it switches since Luigi can have it appear on his nose or Snake it show up on his butt.

If it is I think we should possibly make list of where the C4 gets stuck on people so we can know which way they'll move if they shield which could lead to them falling off of platforms, or moving closer to use so we can grab, & things of that sort. =D

Another question: I just tried SDI ing snake´s nair in training mode with Fox.
I tried quartercircle DI and just normal DI with SDI. (Dual stick DI).
I tend to get out if I DI away or down... if I DI away it´s not safe because it depends if the snake moves forward or backward whie doing a nair.
If I DI the nair down, I sometimes get out and can punish with dair, dsmash whatever BUT if I screw up. I´m dead @ high %.

Shine can work if I DI into him, but if I screw up... I die :D

What´s the best way to get out of snake´s nair??

It all depends on the movement. If he's going down and left you sdi up and right. If he's going down and right you sdi up and left. He's going up and left you do down and right. If he's going up and right you go down and left.

That's a general outline.Obviously if he's doing SH nair you can't sdi down so you just sdi up and opposite of his horizontal direction.

But falling and FH fit the above outline.

in the ditto, i always manage to get out above it, even if snake is rising. and snake is much longer than fox (although he falls slower...).

else behind it should work, too.

Best options on the ledge? I really hate this position
The best option is to avoid the ledge lol. Unless something has changed since I've played, Snake's options are probably the same on the ledge, and none of them are really good tbh.

Get up attack, ledgehop dair, ledgehop with grenade in hand, roll, ledgehop airdodge? All of these options have flaws, and as such Snake on a ledge is a flaw of his game. It's more a matter of knowing what your opponent is capable of doing while you're on the ledge and what they have been doing throughout the game.

I'm surprised you didn't mention simply standing up Twenty-Two.

Getting on stage with only 2 frames vulnerability is pretty good. Even over 100% which is only 4 frames vulnerability is still pretty good as well.
