It does less than that if I understand what Cecil was talking about correctly.

If you are using Dair over someone when they perform a get-up attack, then you have to wait out their invincibility frames while Dair is still kicking away. The first 2 hits of Dair will miss and so you can only get 17% on the last two (5% and 12%). That's about the same as Ftilt slightly decayed.

Since I never use Dair I am not entirely sure how much kill power it has from say center stage to near the ledge. I just know its a more powerful than Utilt. If you can work a tech chase to a platform or perhaps a ledge you have a enough options covered to go for a kill with Dair. Although you could almost easily go for the same kind of thing with Utilt depending upon percents.

It's just hard to work in learning when its best to use Dair in a few situations over the bread and butter tactics.

With the awesome smiley I can't tell if you're being serious or not, but here goes:

Would you say Yoshi outcamps Snake?
Can Yoshi pull of strings of 20%+ damage against Snake?
How much difficulty does Yoshi have punishing a shielded UTilt?

I don't think Yoshi's camping beats Snake, but it can really throw off our timing, & cause us to try, & reset our camping.
Yeah Yoshi's bair, & egg lay can rack up some annoying damage at lower &s.
I don't think Yoshi should try, & punish a f-tilt if they shield it. I think they'd be better off trying to spotdodge it or just back off, & reset the situation.

Also sry for the confusion with the smiley. D=

Snake can play the camping game. But Yoshi is one of the few who screws Snake over pretty well for messing up. The burst from the eggs easily sets off the grenades if you are not in shield by the time it hits. After that, you take almost 20% of damage from the egg and explosion, then take a slew of eggs to avoid trying to get back down again. Y

Also, Yoshi can get 20%+ strings of damage in on Snake. Every character can by abusing him being horrible in the air. Cecil, he said Utilt, not ftilt o.0 But, I have been grabbed by Yoshi a few times hitting shield with Utilt.

Learn to SDI the CG to spike. Get a hold of someone and have them help you practice doing it. If not... try to practice when you get to those situations.

Other than that, the safest method is to take enough damage that most of the CG is no longer a threat. You can do that be either blowing yourself up or attempt some platform camping. Leave C4 and grenades on the platforms as you hop about. Or short hop/full hop some tossed nades near Falco. Wait until you take enough damage around 45% or so, and then most of the CG is no longer an issue.

The other take is to constantly be spacing yourself away from Falco and not to throw out random attacks except for things like pivot grab away from Falco or single jab. If Falco gets near you, dash away, roll away, walk away, etc. Take opportunities to get back to center stage so you do not get trapped near the ledge with little room. Use platforms to get around as well when you can.

Or do not give a care and play normally avoiding grabs when you think they might be coming. Take your pick of game play.

Assuming we're close enough, can we punish Olimars fsmash on our shield with forward tilt and jab if he buffers a shield? What about dash attack out of shield?

question.

i was playing around with the jontech (c4 recovery then wavebounce after tech walljump to get onstage) and realised that i cannot consistly predict whether or not im going to walljump after my tech.

is there a method to it? is there set areas where a walljump is not possible?

This is the same question I have.

I used to always walljump after my tech and I'd b-reverse back on. As of recently, I'd tech it and just stick to the slope. I'd automatically buffer the b-reverse resulting in my death.

UL brought this up once before. Simply hold Up on the control stick or a jump button and you will auto tech jump. Provided you get the tech in the first place. The tech you can also buffer as well.

Hold jump when you tech to jump automatically, assuming you tech a wall(I'm usually already holding it as I'm dropping my C4). Helps a lot to have jump set to L like I do imo. Whenever I used the push up on the control stick method if I messed up my timing I would DI wrong every once in a while.

I think if you checked my __crystal____ for something against ganon you'll find a ton of stuff to crouch against him. Other than that, crouching agaisnt aerial attacks is great. Crouching a marth rising fair or kirby's rising Bair is always fun.Use your imagination for some stuff and try it out. But no, we never got around to filling out anything.

i think the auto power when rising into an aerial is the most useful part. particularly for things that are rarely punished without a ps, like diddy or marth fair.

Turnaround special - Move the control stick away from the direction your facing, then hit the special button. Simply turns you around in the air.

B-reversal - Reverses your momentum. If you are moving forward in the air, tap the special button, then move the control stick backwards after pressing the special button.

Wavebounce - Combining a turnaround special and a B-reversal one after the other.

Example of a wavebounce. Say your drifting in the air to the left. You move the control stick to the right. Then press the B button. Snake will turn around in the air, but will keep drifting to the left. Shortly after having pressed that B button, you move the control stick now to the left. Now, Snake turns around again and is facing to the left, but his momentum is shifted to the right.

How would I go about improving my fundamentals (as in, my non-grenade game)?

I rely on them a lot and kinda just break down under pressure.

Should I just... stop using nades and focus on the other parts of my game?

Or is there a better/different way?

Are you getting nervous or overwhelmed when people approach you very close without range to throw out some attack?
Or like totally unsure what to do when someone gets close enough that they might run in and grab you or something.

Improving fundamentals?

Critique yourself.

When you get hit, find out what you did wrong. Was your spacing off? Did you do something predictable? Did you attempt something risky when there were safer options? Etc etc
