Shoutouts to Bones for breaking the status quo and getting people to seriously reconsider the tierlist. The downfall of fox has begun, the peach uprising is inevitable.

no no. From above.

Going below sucks, and fox should die every time. There are ways to get lucky though from below (like trading with her d-air sometimes. Or If they do something that you could tech [but that should almost never come up anyway.]).

That makes no sense.

Tier lists is (should be) about character strengths, not player representation.

Like I said before, we shouldn't care about results, but rather the gameplay. The fact that Armada gets 1st is irrelevant. What is relevant is how he does it. If he's just outplaying everyone with a bad character, the bearing his gameplay should have on the tier list is pretty low. Anyone who thinks he hasn't shown how Peach, as a character, can be abused is just ignorant.

So then u do think bowser is the 3rd best? B/c once u take out the human from the equation that is what u get. Ideally we would be able to come up with some formula to combine human ability/ and or results and character strengths/ and or potential. But since we cant do that atm we cant ignore results or else bowser is the 3rd best and yoshi is 4th

It should be about both tournament results and character potential. Without quality players, how would we know exactly how much a character can do? So many players revolutionized the ways some characters are played (Ex. Axe with Pikachu).

It should only be about characters' attributes. Tournament placings are an expression of those attributes and how they are utilized.

I think it's both, really. On the one hand, there aren't that many things he does which would surprise most people who have even a moderate understanding of Peach. At the same time, he's kind of shown why she can compete (insert different Peach related things here).

I dunno. Armada *****, Peach *****.

I totally disagree shrouded. Armada does a lot of things constantly that no other peach does. His style, strategies and punishes are leagues and leagues better than what anyone else does.

I also agree with Bones0 and KingofCereal. The results should fit the tier list, not vice versa.

results give a good sense of the game but you gotta treat outliers for what they are lol, peach isn't #1 just because armada is


BTW overall i don't think the tier list has honestly changed that drastically since 2010. sveet was asking the MBR for their personal tier lists and mine came out pretty similar to this (puff slightly lower, some low tier changes)

we definitely need heros to show us how good some characters actually are though

if armada was a marth main the tier list would probably be way different

idk 2 years sounds appropriate.
It wouldn't change much, and will consist mainly of Fox/Falco #1 spot arguments and Roy going down another spot, but it's due.

i think that mainly yoshi, roy, and ylink need some restructuring, these things have been generally agreed upon by many people ive talked with.

*goes into sentinel mode, recharges shields, puts up barriers*

Actually the only changes I'd make is drop Puff one Tier and switch DK with YLink. (I don't care about the Tiers below)
Also I wouldn't order within Tiers.

I think there are clear groups representing character Potential.
Group 1 literally having no weakness (Sheik) or too many benefits to cover their edeguarding Problem (spacies)
Edit: also unique for that group: you'll never have to switch, no mather what stage/character you're playing.
Group 2 having minor flaws (like lack of speed/mobility and projectile for Puff)
Group IC being IC.
Group 4 having some major flaws but still kinda viable.
Group 5 being good for low tier characters and being able to cause upsets from time to time, but can't really compete with above.
Group 6 being meh, closer to 5 than to 7 tho.
And the rest being comepletly garbage unless you never played the MU

I agree with this too. Yoshi is so much better than people give him credit for. Unlike someone like Ness or Pichu, Yoshi has a lot going for him. I bet he was put all the way down there just because he has no third jump and can't jump out of shield, but those weaknesses actually give him unique strengths.
