I don't know if I agree, because Japes.
Falco is overrated on japes imo. His run away game is ruinned by the LGL and I don't see why I can't just SDI onto the stage for the CG->spike or just take laser damage until I'm out of CG %s. Don't get me wrong, Falco is really good on japes but I don't think he's the BEST on japes.

Lol at Falco being fast
Outside of being vertically quick, he's slow as ****. SideB can hardly be used for anything other than short-distance mobility.

What exactly can Rob do on japes? I'm probably missing something since I've never played a good Rob on the stage. :happysheep:

Are you all idiots? :falco: gets a free cg>Spike on everyone and on Japes that means you get hit into the water. Every 10 seconds the clap trap goes by. Time it right and you took a stock at 0 from a grab...

What happened to MK being overpowered on Japes? I remember that being a thing back in the Unity days
Apparently MK is overpowered everywhere non-Apex (and Delfino and Frigate and Halberd). I learned simply ignore when people bring MK to stage discussions.

Why exactly is Falco so bad on many stages? I just don't see why. He is fast, jumps take him anywhere and he can pretty much decide where he wants the fight with his lasers
Because people don't know how to abuse stages, most Falcos generally go for either flat pewpew or CQC.

Also, people really seem to misunderstand how Jungle Japes works.
Kind of reminds me why Pictochat got banned from Unity Ruleset...

Seagull are you srs? SDI the Dair, you can go left OR right and be fine.

Pictochat got banned from Unity because quick, random spawning hazards and terrain changes/walls/janky *** **** is not good. Wasn't based on characters at all.

Japes is gay as ****, I'm glad it's gone. If you want Japes legal, you'd have to more strictly regulate stalling because that stage always develops into a stallfest. This stage actually requires a LGL for a larger number of characters, because clustered edges are incredibly powerful for planking/stalling. Then you have people like Wario stalling way above, and it's just gay. Real lame.

As far as MK goes, he's nothing that special on the stage, but there are quite a few characters he can Nado spam to death because he can move left/right to be safe.

PictoChat transformations arent random though, they all cycle in the same order every time. Just learn the order and the only random one is the first one.

gashi, no, that's wrong, stop :c
Pictochat's transformations ARE indeed random, whith random durations and random "blank" times.

I didn't say Pictochat were banned because of characters. There are actually few characters good on it, like Snake, DDD and Sonic.
The reason ig got banned is that people got the idea it is janky because they don't know how to play on it.
Just doing your normal stuff doesn't work there. Rushing to your opponent while the stage is blank is asking for something "janky" to happen. The *ideal* gameplay there would be to play very carefully during the blank transformation (lowering the amount of care as the most dangerous transformations pass) and start moving when the transformation is out.
Annoying, probably. Effective, indeed.
But people took the easy way out, and instead of learning the stage, they simply banned it.

Im pretty sure they don't always cycle the same. People definitely would have noticed after all of these years lol.

If the stages transformations gave a warning, took time before becoming active, or were on a set pattern, the stage would probably be legal.

None of my characters really excel on Japes. None of them are bad there either though, its just neutral for me.

So while we're here, if you haven't seen it yet, EVO is polling for suggestions on which fighting games to include in 2013. Kindly vote Melee and Brawl, thanks.

So for a slight change of subject, what characters *don't* want to go to Japes? Honestly can't think of anyone that's really bad here, other than maybe some random low tiers.

thats fine, you can go ahead and do that. Ill go ahead and base my conclusion on what the evidence leads me to. Which is even, leaning towards sonic favor.

Nair is her best oos option and her best mixup option because it has less landing lag than her other aerials.
Agreed that it is her best OoS. Bair is still sometimes better depending on how fast you need to be, and rolling is sometimes your only "safe" option - but, anyway...

What does best mix-up option even mean? She spaces with bair, not nair, and then mixes nair, dair and sometimes fair/uair in when necessary. Does that not make bair her best "mix-up option", or...?

I can no longer take anything you say seriously.

I could've sworn I'd seen you post this before and be corrected... eh

Agreed. Japes turns into a campfest.

You also never die vertically lol

It's true, it's very easy. I just don't really know how to do it anymore because none of my characters I use against Falco really care about the spike.

People don't SDI the spike because they suck (Me included). This is fact.

The day people continually SDI :falco:'s Cg>Dair onstage is the day I eat my socks.

:018:
good thing you don't watch me in the falco/Wolf matchup then xD I can SDI it tech on stage and retaliate from it.

Actually, he can only get 1 grab at 0% afaik and can't ever dthrow > dair her

I don't only use Puff though lol so it doesn't matter

QCDI isn't hard - even if you don't consider that you have a billion years to react to it (seeing as he has to chain-grab you to the ledge first)

Just for the info,

Falco can get 1 if buffered right, CAN get a dair out it.

But if you try to get the 3rd grab we can rest or fair you for it.
