If Yoshi chooses to rush, we can react to it with blizzard, it beats out everything except for egg toss so we can just throw it out.

Being desynced in that situation allows us to cover escapes. Triple dash > blizzard creates a fast moving blizzard and can cover escape methods. If they do manage to evade us the situation is reset and we can try again.

When people get smart and realize a dashing ice climber is stuck in dash for 22-ish frames, even longer for 3 dash dance, you'll be sorry...

Who am I kidding? They been doing that since 2008 no problem, I doubt that'll happen now lol

Carry on Big D, let's continue to profit off of people's ignorance, fear, and greed on a matchup to matchup basis :)

Sounds like a plan. Although dashing really sucks, walking is really the way to go, but in this scenario it's good.

I really don't want to fend off this herd of Yoshis though, I think they are all after me after the thread title incident.

Marth ***** ICs. Ask Big D.

It's fine to call it even though. It's easy for both players to stuff up their chances on 0-deathing each other (i.e. hitting nana at all at around 20-50% and not having popo immediately u-air you unless you're really bad at marth, which everyone is). Marth can camp on SV and battlefield. IT NEVER GOES TO ANY OTHER STAGE SO WHO CARES WHAT THE MU IS ELSEWHERE.

Blizzard
Startup: 1-15
Hitbox: 16-?
Cooldown: ?-79
Good luck reacting to a Bair rush down and actually succeeding at any range that this should be happening at, lol.

>Triple Dash.

>Assuming we're still just sitting there letting you dash around uncontested.

>Implying that Yoshi has a problem with resetting the situation against Ice Climbers.

Only if you suck at counterpicking/striking. :glare:

At any rate, I feel like you can ONLY call it Marth's favor under like, a 9-starter list where he gets like, Lylat or something for Game 1, and can get RC/Brinstar/Delfino/Frigate for Game 3.

Even is perfectly reasonable, and I wouldn't object to +1 IC's, either.

It feels more stressful from the Marth side than ICs, but I think most MUs (vs. ICs) probably feel that way.

Lol, Big D, youre REALLY underrating Yoshi's mobility and startup on moves. Yoshi is one of, if not THE most mobile character in the game, and has decent range and fast moves on top of it, then on top of THAT, youre trying to say that ICs, one of the least mobile characters in the game and one of the slowest in the air, will be able to get into the range of a Yoshi where blizzard is completely safe and doesnt allow Yoshi any time whatsoever to react to it or even just move away?

if only his mobility gave him the same options that a character with his mobility usually gets. instead everything yoshi has sucks giant flaming donkey **** and he's a horrible ****ing piece of **** bad character with bad options at any given moment. don't pretend your character is good. admit it. he sucks. HE SUCKS!!!!

Theres a reason why this character has no MUs worse than -2 (although I personally think Falco could be -3), and its cuz hes generally not that bad. Its just that shield is sooooooooo bad.

I heard it used in every single situation possible at a LAN part last weekend. Blegh.
It won't be long before everyone is sick of it (a week), and then it will die like all recently created memes.

The lifespan of a meme has dropped considerably since their conception; look at 'over 9000' compared to 'errmahgerd'.

Anyway, in regards to Marth/ICs.
This is how the MU happens at top level - how is that Marth's favour, at all? See how Mike had to space every single thing perfectly or he died, while 9B just had to walk forward and shield to apply pressure?

I bet that Marth > ICs only started as a thing because
"derp Marth beats ICs in Melee" (he doesn't really, but that was popular opinion for ages)
"derp Marth can up-b if they **** up the CG" (lol, that ain't DDD)
"derp Marth can out-range them" (Yeaaahhh, Marth's effective range is meh due to his speed and limited options)

NOTE: I do realize that vid is more of an argument for even, I'm just trying to stress that ICs don't lose
Ok i just got done watching this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yA_uQWO8sQU&feature=g-vrec
I analyzed what went on and how marth got grabbed. The ONLY reason why Mike lost is because he went for game1 a risky down smash, a falling Back air(gives him super lag) and a Up b at the end (which also gave him super lag). Ok game 2 1st stock he stopped spacing fair so he got ***** by IC bair. 2nd stock he did another Bair to the ground. (which isnt safe but he got away with it because 9B dropped the grab). Then got uair to death because he jumped up there after getting released. 3 stock he comes down with a fthrow on nana and fsmash but misses but in result of missing he gets grabbed by popo but nana isnt quick to recover. so he gets away agian. He loses because he comes down with a fair on shy guy forgetting he has phantom lag because he up b'd onto the ledge.

Ok now 9b side. 9B see you cant grab spaced FH tipper fair off block even if its power shielded. (It is very easy to space fair so where it tippers on shield. The lag from it is too much for IC to grab dont believe me? go try grabbing it with IC small grab box yourself.) 9B see that the only way to get a garruntee punish of FH spaced fair is if marth uses his 2nd jump and goes under IC. But mike didnt see that for awhile and he keeps getting punish. and then the Unreasonable mistakes happens which i stated before in Mikes gameplay happens. Mike could have played safer. Ok game2 Mike starts to adapt to the situation and starts to take charge. 9B is now starting to see he is adapting to the MU and starts to space fair perfectly until the end of 1st through 2nd stock. To be honest this marth just wasnt aware of the situation. Then 9b trys to capitlize on mikes bair mistake. Drops the grab but upair mike to death because mike was losing the spacing game before due to half *** play. Last stock mike was playing how the MU is supposeto be played. SHould have won but 9B saw the upb onto the ledge and waited till he hit the ground to get a free punish but in mikes case it ended up being a grab because mike didnt cover himself nor go for a platform.

Fair is so good in the MU IC has problems with the pressure because that dont have a GET OFF me move like most of the cast and people for get that. Just be aware of what IC can really do and they're flaws. Also e aware of your own characters flaws just like how mike for got he had phantom lag at the last stock of game 2. Just little things people dont see and then they bitcj about a character when it ends up not being the character so much when its yourself.

Marth really has the edge slightly in this MU just needs to be aware of the situations. If your new to the MU you need to adapt and see what your doing wrong quick. Its not only about IC graing you. Dont set yourself up.

Edit: I play this MU a ton so i definately know what I am talkin about

Ummm...greetings. I'm a melee player who just picked up project m and I have a question for all you fine gentlemen. Does the brawl scene have a name for the platform that comes from beneath the bottom blastline on yoshi island?(like randal) I'll bet there's a more appropriate thread for me to ask in, but my laziness is strong this day.

OK calls him Randall too.

We also call DDD's Down B The Widowmaker, Falco's Forward Aerial Drill Peck, Marth tippers Ritchies, among other things.

Wouldn't be surprised if we make names for every attack at some point.

I've heard Monique before, yeah. I think that's standard.

Snake D-Air usually has many names. I've heard the Stairmaster. I personally call it the Temper Tantrum.

Wolf's D-Smash is "sweeping the ground." Meta Knight's D-Smash is "cutting the grass."

I also like to yell "WE JUST DO IT" if a spammable KO move is used repeatedly and connects eventually.

He's getting in dat ***, so I prefer the Proctology Exam.

Luigi Up-B is the Shoryuken. Luigi's Down-B and Ice Climbers' Forward-B are collectively the Mock Tornado.

G&W's D-Smash is the Double Nine-Hammers.

Pikachu's F-Tilt is "Rat Feet."

Zelda's U-Tilt is the Wonderful World of Disney.

That's all the rest I can remember at first glance.
