you're gonna take him down to last stock basically every match you play against him

cuz he's a bad person LOLLL

and by that, i mean "he's too nice and wants to make it fun for you by making it close" cuz he loves melee so much that he's happy as long as he gets to play it, and he doesn't mind dropping games or dropping stocks unnecessarily

he won't really not do this against you unless you're already really good

meaning like, top 10 in AZ

and even then, he might still do that silliness against some of the top 10

when i got good enough to make axe stop throwing stocks and games at me, those were easily some of the most brutal beatdowns i've experienced in my entire life

also if you ask for advice, he's going to say either "jeeze" or "shoot," and either....
a. tell you you're already "really good, man!"
b. tell you to shield drop more
c. give up and tell you that he doesn't know what to say

and if you ask him how to do something in melee

he's going to say "very carefully"

so you have to word your how-to questions really delicately

like

"how do i shield drop?"

would become

"what kind of input do you use to shield drop?"

And that's lame. Of course I don't think I'm gonna win lol, I wanna play axe bc he's my second favorite player to watch and I wanna see what it's like getting totally demolished by someone on his level. If I had the chance to do it with my favorite pornstar I wouldn't settle for a handy >_>

I might be planning on moving to phx after next semester, and if I do, I'll be your guys' token fox. I think I'll be able to progress relatively fast at this game; i really wanna get good. If only my girlfriend would give me my god damn GameCube back so I could practice my tech skill >_>

I don't have a phone right now, so I'll text you off my sisters when she gets off work and we head over there.

So I took my car to Tucson yesterday, and it made the trip just fine. I'll prolly start making weekly trips to Tucson and Phoenix, and every time I go I want to play melee. I may want to start an ssb club at my college to see if I can start a community in southeastern AZ, but I have no idea how I'd go about that

Idk but I had a lot of fun even though I only played two people and had to leave so suddenly...if I move to phx I'll definitely play a lot more often.

Every time I come back from a smashfest, I hear the menu music and Dreamland 64 music screaming in the back of my mind like the sound version of an afterimage.

Like where ALL of AZ can come, and maybe even some OOS players could join too.

The problem is finding a venue big enough, cheap enough, close enough to everyone, and well-equipped for handling a video game tournament. Then, on top of that, doing it on a day that is agreeable with everyone, at a reasonable price for everyone, and having that date free to reserve at the venue. Last, people have to be dedicated enough to actually come to it, to advertise it to get people outside the core community to come, and have everyone supplied with rides and housing.

It's easy to point a finger and say, "You lazy shmucks, hold a tournament," but it's a lot more of a ***** than picking a day and telling people to come.
