So are you coming or not Andrew?

BTW, everyone should know that Tim is a loser who doesn't tip the pizza delivery guy.
Even when said delivery guy was super quick. I'm not impressed Tim.

Sam, can you make sure to text me if you know people who are rocking up before you? That way I'll be ready if some strangers turn up at my door.
the reason i paid by credit card was because i had no cash, therefore unable to tip
i thought me coming to the door half naked was reward enough

Good times. Disappointed more people couldn't come though, and that we didn't get to eat Super Dogs.

Watch out, I might start hosting bi-weeklys or something.

I blame your sister as well. Obviously Smash is more important than hockey.

Next meet we should have a tourney, winner gets shouted a super dog.

australia gives tips?

news to me

this aint america
Pretty much this. Some places even enforce tipping (as in it's on your bill, "gratuity fee" or some ****). It's just silly, tipping should be something you get when people genuinely think you do a good job, not an expectation.

Also NOT including tax in prices is dumb too. Expect to pay $10 for something cause it says $10 on pricetag. Get charged like $13. wat?

On that note.

You do realise that over in America people get payed a lower wage right?

Like, 5.60 an hour or something.

And they make the rest of their money off tips right?

Ofcourse they enforce tipping lol, it's how they earn a living. The point is, there is an entry fee tip, which is what they get for serving you, and if you decide they've served you well, you can give them more.

It's a good system really, because it promotes good customer service. Don't do a good job? Have your minimum wage ******. Do a good job? Earn more than the rest of these ******s.

Compared to over here where we get over minimum wage and are generally spoilt as we don't have to do ****, and unless you're breaking stuff in the store on purpose, you usually won't get fired.

Soog is correct. Although you still do need to do a good job here, or else you won't get any work.

Anyway enough depressing talk. How's Hunter going to go at BOOST? I call 1st 2nd 3rd. In every game.

What be this.... BOOST?

I assume it's another tourney... but trying to make something from the letters is impossible... Is it something in Brisbane?

It's a Sydney tourney that happened yesterday. It's called Boost because when the series originally started, Sydney was in need of a boost to our tourney scene.

Also tips are dumb, I realise their (minimum) wages are lower and it does motivate good service, but they should just pay people better and charge more money for stuff, then people won't feel ripped off when a tip is enforced. Basically I think the idea of tipping is good, it just shouldn't be enforced or it kinda defeats the point.

Small size for small argument, also I don't really want to drag it on but can't help saying something. Ignore it. :)

Yes, the delicious free treat will be candy canes. Also thinking of bringing a Christmas tree for decoration.

AND CHRISTMAS CRACKERS

I'm just brainstorming a few unconventional tournament systems, as I want to make the Hunter (Smashville) series a tangent from the Sydney BOOST system of things. So far, my thoughts are:

  • Japanese Style Tournament. Each player chooses one character upon registration, and cannot change throughout the day.
  • 1 Pool Round Robin. The famous HV delicacy, with the impurities all refined out. Expect the round robin to run much more effectively this time around.
  • 8 Man Bracket. Top 8 scorers will play in a bracket. Street Fighter style. Seeded according to pool results. 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, etc.
  • Custom stages. I'd be willing to adopt the stages from the Texas Midwest tourney system to give them a test run here. Probably not for this tournament, but it is a possibility for the future. For more information, click - http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=249283

To be honest, after looking at the Midwest thread, I'm not entirely opposed to the idea of custom stages. Seems like it could be a really interesting addition. I would like to see some hunter unique stages though :)

Not sure about 8 man bracket though. As far as I can see, there are a lot of great players who are close together in terms of skill in our scene. 8 man bracket means some great players will miss out.

Sounds interesting, also could we have a low tier tournament please. Obvioulsy Toby and Ricky are banned from using their respective characters.

I like the idea of a low tier tourney :O

Would be interesting to see what characters people use.
Above statement is a little hard when tiers are nothing to you... seriously

i won't go on a rant about how tiers are a joke or anything :chuckle:

MY NOOB SENSES ARE TINGLING!!!! i assume this is a tourney? And yes, feel free to lol at me :dizzy:
