i know that sage wants to host fests down in richmond but it's a matter of convincing people to get down there

I am hosting fests in richmond actually. Everytime I post nobody goes down though. We have weekly fests here.

We'll have another tournament next week. I will probably have paid tournaments on saturdays and fests on fridays.

Are you talking about a mod? I remember playing some kind of mod that was supposed to bring the game closer to melee but I really didn't notice any difference.
If you can't tell the difference between Project M and Brawl I don't really know what to say

If you're referring to Brawl±, eh maybe I can understand. But you should at least see a difference in Brawl-, and if you don't notice P:M's changes... what are you doing here? Have you played the games at all? Perhaps we're misunderstanding you in what you mean.

Your assessment seems to be accurate. I have only played Project M and it wasn't for more than a day, so that's probably why I didn't notice any difference. I haven't played the +/- derivatives at all.

Are you asking about being here in this thread or this forum? Either way, I'm looking to play plain old Brawl since that's where my experience is. I know this is a Melee thread but I was focusing on location. I could play some Melee too, but would bring a Brawl setup. I would be happy for someone to show me why Brawl is broken balance wise, provided no glitches are used :)

Well it's obviously broken in the sense that there is no reward for approaching, and it is ridiculously difficult to approach in the first place. As a result, stalling is rampant. It lacks any of the precise movement abilities available in Melee, and most importantly, it just isn't any fun.

If you insist on playing Brawl, then there are threads for Brawl that will likely yield many more players near you anyway.

Yeah I will do that. I'm tempted to pick up some melee again though.

I suppose I always thought others didn't like it because it wasn't balanced and I was hoping someone could demonstrate this. Can the Meta Knight kid do that? :D

If you're looking for Brawl then this might be the thread to post in:

Just ask if anyone is willing to play near your area. If you were to bring Brawl to my place I think you'd probably just end up only playing that one short kid that draws Meta Knight in his spare time.
Thanks! I was looking for a thread like that with no luck.

Kaffei told me at apex that it's unlikely he will be banned in nova, but that is hardly my problem. All the smashers here in richmond that play brawl at all like that he was banned.

Yeah, just bring Brawl over to Sypher's house. I'll show you some broken aspects of Meta Knight ;)
