2. But of course, look at the difference between the original DS phat and the DSi/XL, quite a few number of improvements. So yes, redesigns are worth the "extra bucks". Patience is key.

Lucky you. People who are down here in the 2000's pick it all the time. Too bad I can beat them without a 2nd thought on that map.

What I was going at is at how significant these updates to the console would be. The DS to the DSL were very big improvements, and therefore made it more valuable than the DS. We have no idea if the 3DS will make such improvements to make it superior to the original, or if it will be on a similar level to that of the 3DS in terms of value. You are right though, that patience is key, but tell that to me when I got a DS, when the DSL came out a month later. (I had no idea that it would come out a month later . . . damn my middle school mentality. XD)

Also, the 3DS is having some problems with adding FCs over the internet. I have been trying to add a friend of mine's FC, but we can't since it is always saying that our FCs are invalid. Even though we check and double check them. Anyone knows what's up?

Have you/ your friend tried adding anyone else's FC? I would try that and if the problem persists contact Nintendo. My FC is 1848-1876-3249 try that.

They have Dr. Mario for WiiWare and Kirby's Dreamland for GameBoy (3DS) for 100 coins, and Majora's Mask for Virtual Console and Dr. Mario Express for DSiWare (3DS) for 150 coins. Not a great batch of games that interest me up. Next batch goes up Feb. 1.

Basically once you start a base save file on the game card, it's there permanently, and can't be erased or reset. This theoretically would kill the "pristine game" value of buying a used copy, thus driving down its trade-in value and causing fewer used copies to be around, forcing people to purchase new ones if they really want the game.

Pretty much, you skip such a huge chunk of the track that it shaves off 20-30 seconds on time. People who are not exactly good at the game exploit this with a passion, which is why you'll see a lot of people try picking this map.
Still doesn't mean they win though. =3

And that 2nd statement is so true. So many people use the glitch, so it shouldn't be a problem. Most arguments made now question the morality of such glitches.

That's why I often copy the OP of a thread to a Word document for future reference.

Sad thing is, in the youtube description, apparently nintendo said that they don't want to patch that because it would be too unfair to the people who bought the game at launch. Which sounds really dumb because then everyone would be on equal ground, its not like it takes skill to use the exploit or anything.

Sure it can be difficult to discover the exploit for yourself. But once you know how it works, after that it doesn't really take a lot of effort to actually do it.

If mine worked, then your friend misread his. I know sometimes we double check something but we don't really scrutinize, we go through relatively quickly and continually miss the same mistakes. Tell your friend to have someone else read the numbers to him since a fresh set of eyes are less likely to make the same mistake.

Funny thing about that . . . there is no option to erase data in the Options menu. The method I listed above is the only way. Thank you instruction manuals.

Yeah, the new lineup was very disappointing. But hopefully Kid Icarus pops up for next month on the 3DS. Really want that game.

Also, the Wii version was out for a much longer time, so they thought it was justified giving away the Wiiware version for less. But the DSi version isn't anything special either.

PS: Xevious was good.

Xevious is pretty fun, I find myself playing it mainly when I'm waiting around. 3d all the way up on that is impossible for me though, I feel like I have to completely cross my eyes.

Majora's Mask is a fantastic game; it's far better than OoT imo, though OoT is by no means bad.

I haven't owned a handheld since the GBA, but I'm considering getting a 3DS. Worth it?

You can't really label consoles in terms of pros and cons, since different consoles are for different people, and they are meant to attract those certain people. What I usually base my decision on is two things:
When I played the console, was it a good experience?
What games will I get for it (both upcoming and current?)

Pretty much, if there are a bunch of games for it that you WILL buy for it, and you really thought that the 3DS is a good system, then by all means go for it. If not, then don't waste your money on something you're not going to play often. If there are games that you want, but they don't come out until later, then just wait to get the console.

Don't feel too bad about it. It is a fun game, and it is great in case you only have a few minutes, but it was something I would never buy if it wasn't for Nintendo Rewards. Also, the Hanafuda cards are something to take a look at over at the rewards.

I'm waiting for Majora's Mask 3DS to come out. I have a good feeling it will, since there has been some buzz about it, but if it doesn't, then Nintendo missed out.
And the default 3D effect is fine. But you're right: the 3D turned up all the way is too much. Could never understand how people can play on anything of that level.
