So, Sandy is a rushdown character? Well, it fits the personality. So we mostly knew her special moves before this? Well, this means we are getting closer to knowing the full roster´s moveset. Now that Sponebob is finished, which series should go next TMNT or Loud House?

The Western side of Pop Star.
They've said multiple times that they have no indication that this game will even have post-game support. We can guess, based on the hype surrounding this game and how the Kart games were going to have DLC that was scrapped due to low sales, that Nick may look into it following the initial purchase window of the game, but as for right now our safest bet is to go into it thinking that there will be no post-release content.
Herein lies the problem, fans are already suffering from withdrawal as we're nearly hitting release.

I don't think that the 90s biais would stop Jimmy considering we already have Danny Phantom who is arguably a bit less popular than him.
Yeah, once again it seems as though there's a bit of disparity between what fans think will be picked versus what devs will actually pick. Even when the devs are open and don't have a language barrier.

Do we actually have proof of an Oct 5th release date? And no, a dev linking a Steam page that has October listed doesn't count.

no rolling from block apparently, but there is some other function with it apparently

Interesting...... I wonder if the direction inputs from a block are either a parry or a counter. Or if its something else entirely new like a quick version of one of the characters moves. I should probably look for other plausible options.

As for the second point, I already saw it coming. A true zoner in this game would either be overpowered or completely useless. I considered the possibility of this game being hyper offensive but I just hope that whatever defensive options we have make up for the lack of defensive options.

Edit: :ultgreninja:´d.

I just desire consistency, looks like the pattern you argued for isn't a thing either. Marketing is their greatest asset here and they have a twitter account now. I badly want to see them use it, I want to see more of the wacky things they put together. When Brawl and Smash 4 dripfed info at a steady but consistent way that was one of their best decisions for the games.
I'd say wait until tomorrow to know for sure if the pattern is Monday-Wednesday-Friday; for all we know, the reason Sandy's moveset was posted today and not yesterday was because of yesterday being Labor Day.

...So, does this confirm that shielding/blocking is actually in the game? If so, that's a bit of a relief, at least.

Also, has anyone asked for confirmation on what archetype Sandy fits into?

If you don't see the difference between a kid like Helga in a fighting game, who was fairly violent on a regular basis, and a literal infant who canonically can't even speak, I really don't know what to tell you.
The difference is this is a cartoon character fighting game and the baby would have the capability to fight back in turn regardless of his canon abilities.

I think if any of the kids are happening, it's gonna be Angelica to get around the issue, but Tommy's taking blows in the Super Brawl app game and has been getting bashed around in the various Nick kart racing, sports and party games for decades now, I think he'll be fine in NASB. I get why it'd make people uncomfortable, but I don't really know if it's worth the moral outrage. It's like the babies in Mario Kart.

Good moveset, glad they put the Sandsurfing. I was expecting a bigger focus on her inventions. Hopefully a certain "Boy Genius" will be in the game and focus more on that.
I'm actually happy they put more focus on karate and her athleticism alongside the inventions. Sandy becoming a generic "the smart one" character over time never really felt all that fitting. Having all pf her facets really represents Sandy as a character well.

Sandy's Moveset

I didn't notice this until now, but I love how the SpongeBob characters (or maybe just Sandy) have bubbles as part of their attack effects. I just love the idea of every character having unique attack effects instead of just generic swooshes shared across the whole cast.

Also, is that jetpack move a reference to the Musical, of all things? Looks like someone got their wish.

Um, okay?

I was asking if anyone's asked the devs what fighting game archetype Sandy fits into, not the potential order of character moveset reveals.

Though this does at least seem to imply that the Ninja Turtle characters are gonna be next, which makes sense considering they're currently the only other show that has three fighters.

Ooooh, I hadn't noticed the bubbles either! That is neat. I wonder if the Spongebob stages will give everyone bubbles...

And it looks to be a reference to a Season 1 episode, which Sandy's jetpack in the musical is itself probably based on. So, sadly, no musical references for me... And it would have been so easy for them to just name one of the karate moves after a song lyric and have it instantly be a (very niche) reference.

Oh well. Maybe musical speculation can return if Squidward gets in. He seems like the type of person who would want to make musical references anyway.

Next should be the TMNT.

Thanks! That is exciting. They seemed to have some direct recreations of beat-em-up moves, so probably a lot of references to catch in there...

Watch them drop Squidward or Mr. Krabs out of nowhere which I would be freaking cool with.

Here's hoping...

I... have never heard of or seen this show before. Interesting... Maybe here in Canada they didn't want two video game tie-on shows on the same channel; idk...
I also never heard of this show before coming in this thread (although I've heard a bit of the game). I also from Canada so maybe it didn't aired here? I'm from Quebec so not too sure.

Speaking of that, Invader Zim was never broadcast where I lived (I think a french translation was in the work but cancelled, so the show was never broadcasted in french, although the 2019 movie does have a franch dub). Despite that, the show have a pretty strong cult following here.

Interesting! I'm in British Columbia. I know Quebec has strong language laws about what content airs on TV, especially from American imports, so did you get much English-language Nicktoons at all? As we had YTV as a Canadian station that aired most NickToons, while Teletoon took on most Cartoon Network shows and Family took on most Disney Channel shows...

Invader Zim did air on YTV, but quite briefly if I recall right. There was a lot of stuff that only aired for a year or so; I'm guessing they just couldn't justify the costs of licensing shows that weren't notably more popular then the Canadian-original content they own.

Talking to my IRL friends about this game has made me realize that the only Nicktoons people of my age raised in my area consistently have memories of are SpongeBob, Fairly Odd Parents, and Avatar (both TLA and TLoK)...

Well, well, well. This is all really entralling. I am from Mexico. Here, FOP was actually a Jetix show instead of being part of nickelodeon. Spongebob, Invader Zim, Spongebob and Avatar were the popular shows over here. Jimmy Neutron has some fans but not as big as those other 4 (for some reason 3d shows usually arent popular over here). Since, I rarely if ever see TV. I dont know how the popularity of Nick shows are right now like the Loud House.

The schedule for some shows like MLAATR was awful and in general, we rarely received information of when new episodes for shows were coming to Nick. Like they just dropped it and we had to be lucky to see it was something new. It makes me wonder how different the network is in each country....

Yeah Quebec TV is weird. We do have YTV with most Nicktoons in English, but when I was younger I didn't understand english (it's my second language and I started learning it when I was around 14). Most Nicktoons were broadcasted on a French channel call Vrak TV (it's a channel that broadcast mostly french dub american children tv show, with some Quebec original live action show aimed at children too). But some Nicktoons were on Teletoon (like Ren & Stimpy, TMNT and Rocko's modern life) (yeah the Quebec Teletoon is different from the English Canada Teletoon, it's super weird and confusing).
